Anyone ever tried wrapping their MC4 cables in this stuff?

Trying to head off problems before they occur...and purpose made PV panel critter guards look like they make BETTER habits for mice than they help protect unless every single dime-sized and larger protrusion is completely sealed. We have grey squirrels, flying squirrels (these can cause havoc), and mice. Lots of owls, coyotes, and bobcats too, but they aren't keeping up.
