For all its limitations, the Renogy DCC30/50S will prioritize solar power to first charge a house battery and supplement that power with the vehicle's alternator if the engine is cranked.
This got me thinking that maybe I could connect something to the alternator inputs on the device, that at the other end plugs into 120VAC shore power when the vehicle is parked and the engine is off, that could provide no more power to the house battery than it needs and that solar can't produce say on a cloudy day.
What could I buy that might, effectively, act as would the vehicle's smart alternator does, only getting its power from 120VAC rather than a spinning belt connected to the vehicle's running engine?
TIA
(P.S. the vehicle may sit for a week..but with access to shore power...hence the desire to emulate a smart alternator...)
