This may be trivial but I'm new and batteries are expensive.
My Solar Regulator has options for 24 hour and Dawn/Dusk. I looked at a Utube recently that recommended Dawn to Dusk setting as opposed to 24hr, to avoid over charging. I'm not sure what he was trying to achieve so I don't know what charge capacity he needed. Is over charging a problem? It seems like 24hr might cover all exits. I have 200ah of flooded marine batteries. I'm trying to keep a refrigerator alive on my ups for 1 or 2 days in a power outtage.
I'm in a northern latitude (seattle wa.) so we have longer days in the summer.
