FWIW, I no longer buy Duracell AA's as they always leak. I've even had them leak, new in the package, far from their expiration date too.
If it is something that can take NiMH cells, that's what I'll use. Won't help you for your multimeter, as it likely won't like the 1.2V from a NiMH cell.

I too bought 4215bn because of the passive cooling and huge lugs. The ones I bought were newer units with LiFePO4 support built in. That...
Remember when fans used to SCREAM on pcs? So glad they figured out that that was NOT what we wanted. Long live large, slow turning fans.
BTW, I might try and add a fan to my panels. They're flat mounted other than spaced off the surface only 1.5" using 80-20 extrusions. I'm seeing max...
Good price but their other batteries don't get good reviews. I'll have to read up on these.
The DJLBERMPW 24V 100AH was $399 for a few days a week ago but they seem to have 2 versions and I don't know the difference.
EPEver got back to me. First reply was "4215BN does not support lithium, you have too many panels, and don't parallel the controllers". I refuted all that and then was offered their latest FW a try. So tonight I updated one of my units to V1.04 and left the other at V1.02. Tomorrow I'll see...
Lots of good points. Edison charges me $0.37 all in per KWh (totally getting reamed). I get 4 miles per KWh, so 100 miles would cost me $9.27. Work has free charging, so in reality I just need to make at most 50 miles of charging in a day, or $5/day if I run the pack down too far.
The...
I am using USER setting because I don't want to charge my LFP batteries to 28.8V (or 14.4V per battery). I want to keep the voltage low so as not to trip the BMS uppper limit in case a cell gets out of balance. So my float and equalize voltage is set to 28.0V.
Glad to hear they are...
I had the same problem this past weekend programming my 4215BN. I had already read about needing to do stuff in order, but the way the MT50 rolls through the menu, it's in the wrong order if you press the down key to navigate. When I pressed the up key to move between menus, that allowed me to...
In the 'Victron is overpriced' thread, Pike Industries is mentioned as a good seller. That's who I bought from this morning, and it was just delivered. Unlike all the white generic boxed Victron stuff I've bought from Inverters R Us (24-12V converters, Smart Shunt) , this unit from Pike is in...
Epever support wondered if it was EMI. I do have 3 SCC’s all feeding my pack, one of which is a Victron 150/45. It does seem to happen most when the charge is at or near end point.
Do both? Local HTML page and push data to the cloud for remote monitoring, but with the code smart enough to not die if the internet or provider is down.
I'd like to not poke holes in my firewall to access my solar data.
Received the JBD 40A non-smart BMS. Construction is similar to the inexpensive Amazon units. It too is using the Hycon Tech HY2112 and HY2212 charge and balance chips. The ones they chose have the balance set to 3.6V and turns on a pair of 300 ohm resistors in parallel. The overcharge...
Wow! Thank you for making this post. I didn't know Mean Well made inverters. Been using their switching supplies for 15 years with no complaints others than some are noisier RFI wise than others. Good prices on those inverters too. Very tempted!
Reach out to Epever and ask them what the problem is. Don't accept an answer from them if they come back with a non-sense answer.
And I get you don't want to update the FW, but at least exercise their tech support and see what they come back with. I'm super happy that my purchase didn't...
Set your boost and equalize voltage to 13.8V with a 2 hour equalize time. That's likely lower than your BMS turnoff voltage for your out of balance cells and give it time to equalize over a period of days. You really don't gain much more capacity going to a higher charge voltage. I test a lot...
I had the same problem yet the ones I bought had support for LFP and LCO batteries natively showing they’re still making updates to the FW.
What I don’t know is if the internals didn’t change. Tech support asked me for a picture of the serial numbers on my units. I’m thinking they used that to...
I would think that if the load drawn varied with the sun, that would be a flag to some algorithm that you're back feeding. But what about partial load shedding without changing with the sun? (completely off grid load shedding). If someone got rid of the spare old fridge and switched to LED...
Things got a little easier, ends up I can set my car to charge at 5A rate, and that works on level 1 charging too. I confirmed using my wattmeter and measured 550W draw. It will take a lot longer to charge but 10 hours is 5 KWh or 20+ miles and I use 8/day. Plus I only have ~ 10KWH of battery...
MPPT getting stuck is definitely a problem. When I was 'researching' (reading up as much as I can that is on the internet), I saw posts going back 10 years with folks having issues with name brand MPPT charge controllers getting stuck. Victron even mentions it in their ad for their chargers as...
That's how these things work - it's a 4-wire setup, each half of the jaw is insulated from the other. It applies a load on one half of the jaw and measures the voltage on the other. The voltmeter resolution is very good and based on the drop, gives you the batteries' internal resistance value.
Got the EP 4215BN today but the ebay seller forgot to include the MT50 display and cable. Also they shipped it in the EPever box with no additional outer box or cushioning. One corner of the SCC is damaged a little.
I picked up 6 qty Rec Solar 250W panels today and disappointed that I wont...
Regarding the readings, the PV amps is amps from the PV, Battery amps is amps to the PV, and Load amp is amps to the load. The PV amps in your photo is higher than the battery amps as the load is taking amps from the PV instead of the battery.
I do agree that you should get another meter - I...
