Solar Assistant not connecting to internet via wifi

Update on my SA connection...I confirmed that my local router is 2.4 GHz only. So it should be compatible with SA. I attempted to change my site from .za to .us by logging into the Pi WiFi 10.0.0.5/welcome, and it allowed me to select my geographic region, but that did NOT change my site...

Solar Assistant not connecting to internet via wifi

True, I know I could hardwire it to the MoFI 4500, but routing the cable between the router and the Orange Pi on my boat would be a challenge. Trying my best to avoid that.

Solar Assistant not connecting to internet via wifi

How do I know if my boat WiFi router is 2.4 or 5 GHz? I am using a cellular router (MoFi 4500). I can also access the marina WiFi, but I don’t know if it’s 2.4 or 5 GHz. So the SA only connects to 2.4GHz?

Solar Assistant not connecting to internet via wifi

Cool! I’ll give it a try and report back. Hopefully it works…Thanks, Adam!

Solar Assistant not connecting to internet via wifi

Add me to the list of SA owners who cannot connect to the internet. When I’m on the SA WiFi network it receives the info from my Growatt just fine. But when I try to configure the LAN I have on my boat in the Configuration page, it response that I am not connected to the internet, and I should...

Safe and quick method to lower voltage on LifePO4 cells when balancing.

+1 for BarkingSpider’s method! I used it recently on a high 310 Ahr cell and it reduced the V from 3.6 down to 3.3 in about 15 minutes, no sparks, no warm wires, no muss nor fuss. My measured R of extension cord was 4 ohms.

One cell level too high - LiFePO4

All new in October/22. I wired the 8 cells in series, added a JBD 100A BMS, pretty sure I got the balance leads correct. All cells started at 3.29 +/- 0.02V. I did not top balance, since the voltages and resistances were so similar.

One cell level too high - LiFePO4

According to my BMS, I have one cell of of an 8S LiFePO4 battery that is significantly higher then the other seven (3.6 vs 3.35V at full charge). Other than doing a discharge then top balance all 8 cells, is there another method that would get this cell back in line? Would a discharge of just...

Will this panel wiring work/be safe?

Right! Thanks! The panel ratings of the VOC should be about 120-130 total, so hopefully that’s enough margin.

Will this panel wiring work/be safe?

I have a Growatt All-in-One inverter, 24V, 3000W. The SCC can accept up to 150V of PV input. I wired my three panels in parallel thinking I would later add three more panels. I think what is best is for me to rewire the panels in series. Thanks all.

Will this panel wiring work/be safe?

Sorry, but please explain to me, a relative novice, why you cannot have 2 panels in series, and add a third panel in parallel. It’s probably obvious, but I don’t get it.

Will this panel wiring work/be safe?

I have three 455W panels already roof-mounted, and wired in parallel. I'd like to raise the PV voltage coming to the controller. I would like to make the least wiring connection changes as possible to series connect two of the panels. Would the wiring to the panels shown in the photo accomplish...

Which solar controller for off-grid system?

The VoC and ISC of the panels are about 49.3V and 11.4A. Could I run 3 panels in parallel to keep the voltage low, and the amps would be low enough for the 60A MPPT controller? Second string of three panels in parallel to a second 60A controller?

Which solar controller for off-grid system?

Yes, parallel, of course, my bad. Yeah, 36V would be odd. I agree, going to four batteries (24V) would give me more flexibility with solar components, so I think that’s the new plan. And yes, I did the power audit, using this for a bare minimum residential backup system, I think I need about...

Which solar controller for off-grid system?

Hi, I’m designing an off-grid system, planning on three 450W panels (but may expand to 6 eventually), 12V LFP batteries (three in series, but could buy 1 more and go to 24V). The batteries will have BMS protection from under/overcharging. What solar controller do you you recommend? Is series or...
