EG4 LifePower4 battery refuses to charge beyond 64%

I gave up trying. SS shipped a replacement BMS which I fitted and the 64% charge problem got resolved.

Looking for a replacement BMS for an EG4 LifePower4 48 volt battery

Yes. A replacement was shipped out to me free of charge under the warranty. It's a fairly simple job to install.

    MPP-Solar LVX-6048

Can you still get access to the inverter through the serial port even with the error 32 showing?

    DIY panel ground mount?

This is sort of DIY. 2 inch galvanized metal poles buried in 4ft deep concrete filled holes, IronRidge post TopCaps and IronRidge XR1000 support rails.

Looking for a replacement BMS for an EG4 LifePower4 48 volt battery

Thanks for that. I've submitted a fault ticket to Signature Solar and am waiting for a reply. Who knows, I might get lucky.

Looking for a replacement BMS for an EG4 LifePower4 48 volt battery

I've contacted them, Its Signature Solar. I'm expecting them to say I have to return the battery to get it installed. Warranty repair or not. Sending it back isn't an option if I have to pay the shipping. I live on an island in the Caribbean and last time I checked it would be at least $1,500...

Looking for a replacement BMS for an EG4 LifePower4 48 volt battery

I'll have take the battery out of the rack and open it up. It will probably be this coming weekend, these things are heavy and I need to ask one of my neighbors for assistance. Anyway thanks for your suggestions, much appreciated.

Looking for a replacement BMS for an EG4 LifePower4 48 volt battery

I'll take a look, thanks. I can't say I'm familiar with any BMS, having to replace one is a whole new experience for me. If the JDB is a good quality plug-in replacement I'll probably go for it.

Looking for a replacement BMS for an EG4 LifePower4 48 volt battery

Good question. According to the battery documentation the LifePower4 has a max charge / discharge current of 100A and recommended continuous discharge of 30A. I never charge at more than 30A and I would estimate the maximum discharge is never more than 30A also. I have 2 of the packs in...

EG4 LifePower4 battery refuses to charge beyond 64%

Unfortunately that probably isn't a option. I'm not here at this property all the time and it would take at least a month to deep cycle 10 times. I've followed the firmware update procedure to the letter and it still fails. I get success as far as step 7 on the instructions. I can see the...

Looking for a replacement BMS for an EG4 LifePower4 48 volt battery

Can anyone suggest a replacement BMS for a EG4 LifePower4 48 volt battery ? Ideally it needs to be pin compatible so there is minimal rewiring. Some decent monitoring / configuring software included with the BMS would be good. Bluetooth isn't essential, but nice to have I'm more interested in...

EG4 LifePower4 battery refuses to charge beyond 64%

Is there any information at Signature Solar for doing what Samsonite801 suggested ? (2nd post in this thread)

EG4 LifePower4 battery refuses to charge beyond 64%

That's the one I'm using. The BMS monitoring software and the BMS are talking to each other. I can see the Tx and Rx traffic in the monitoring software. It just keeps giving this error message Get Boot Information Failed

EG4 LifePower4 battery refuses to charge beyond 64%

Battery is 100% disconnected. Just to clarify when you say pin 7/8 is that with the RJ45 plug tab facing towards you or away.

EG4 LifePower4 battery refuses to charge beyond 64%

Ok. I have that one also. I've used both cables in the last few hours to try and get the battery hardware information out of the BMS. The end result is the same. I get an error message "Get Boot Information Failed". I set the battery device ID to 0000 Any suggestions on what to try next would...
