Background
Incorporated 3.5 kva Luminous inverter and 4 x 12v lead acid bty with utility power supply in my house sometimes in 2012, to have regular supply of power when needed. However, the need to have more power and little or no dependence on the public utility, prompted my gradual expansion of my system, starting with introducing solar panels in 2017. My initial system relies on charging the batteries using the public utility - you may say penny wise pound foolish I was.

Now my current solar power system is as mentioned above and it is having other safety devices such as thunder arrestor, SPDs and grounded both at the dc and ac ends. So far, apart from the initial hitch (software upgrade issue), I had with the Growatt inverter which I introduced into my system in 2021 to replace the Luminous inverter, the system is satisfactorily responding to my domestic energy needs. Excitingly, I went completely off grid for a period of 18 months with this new system and the utility bill saved was fantastic. Note that am living where constant power supply from public utility is not guaranteed.

My next and immediate want, is to automate the system such that there is automatic control on power distribution to the appliances in use as the solar insolation varies in cloudy or hazy days.
Current or Future Solar Power System
SPF 5000 ES inverter with a canadian solar panels of total output power of 6kw and 4 x 12v Monbat VRLA batteries connected in series.
