They’re rated and binned. You should see how processors are binned and sorted (like die disable). It’ll freak you out if cell grading triggers you.
  • Post in thread: OOPS RTFM. Yes read the manual first

Marine applications, my dude. You should see what salty humid air does to circuits: carnage.
  • Post in thread: Catastrophic failure 200ah 12v battery

You have a very poor understanding of transients and I suggest you peruse some actual literature instead of continuing with your misconstrued notions of the application of Ohm's Law under dynamic conditions.

QuantumScape, Solid Power, sodium. These are the immediate ones that come to mind.
  • Post in thread: Inverter Size

This you? https://s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/catsy.549/SPEC_GP-ISW2000_3000_RevE-min.pdf Because you're looking at 3.5KW of surge capability. I doubt your microwave has "zero" start surge. Hook up a hall effect sensor on your inverter output and see for yourself.
  • Post in thread: SOK Troubles (user error)

This has nothing to do with the MCU. You understand what FIELD EFFECT in FET means, right? You can output whatever voltage you want from the MCU's IO to the gate and it won't do a damn thing. What you're trying to say is people should substitute FETs with more robust mechanisms such as quick...
  • Post in thread: U.S. begins detaining solar panel imports over concerns about forced labor in China

Forced labor in China is pretty rare. Don’t drink the political koolaid and look at the actual data-in this case, Chinese wage data.
  • Post in thread: What 280's do I buy from Amy?

@waxmo Who's Amy and how can I contact her?
  • Post in thread: U.S. begins detaining solar panel imports over concerns about forced labor in China

Chinese labor isn’t cheap anymore. Chinese companies now relocate their low value added operations to SEA and Africa if they can. Chinese advantage is actually in economy of scale, relatively lax regulation, and good infrastructure.

You managed to melt a part of your wrench? Post a pic please.
  • Post in thread: NEWS: PayPal becomes first foreign firm in China with full ownership of payments business

Take a trip to Shanghai and visit the Goldman Sachs office there.
  • Post in thread: U.S. begins detaining solar panel imports over concerns about forced labor in China

much more reliable than ”activists“, politician, and people who do the talking without the thinking. In fact, if you put your emotions aside and actually looked at wage reports by foreign companies operating in China, outbound FDI from China to SEA, and price inflation in China, you should be...

Sorry, that makes no sense. Can you quantify and quality the phrase “full access to US banking system”?
  • Post in thread: Need critique on my battery backup system

Is this really an issue? I plan to use class T fuses in addition to the 100A breakers, which will now only serve as manual disconnects.
  • Post in thread: Need critique on my battery backup system

I'm looking to start a proper battery backup system instead of my current string of batteries tied to an inverter. Currently, the planned loads are: 1) Sump pump, 280W running 2) Deep freezer, 60W running 3) IT Stack, 40W running (constant) 4) Wine fridge, 1.5W idle, 200W running I have sourced...
  • Post in thread: Where to purchase good quality Negative Bus Bars

P = IV. You're looking at 10x the current going from 120V to 12V, assuming same power rating.
  • Post in thread: What 280's do I buy from Amy?

Have you ever heard of the term "metrology"? And millions of transistors? Try BILLIONS. Do you think processors are made by little machines placing tiny nanometer scale transistors on a circuit board? You might want to look up VLSI and modern lithography, and maybe peruse KLA-Tencor's product...
  • Post in thread: U.S. begins detaining solar panel imports over concerns about forced labor in China

    lol "slave or forced labor"
  • Post in thread: Jackery 1000 as a UPS

I wouldn’t do that. I actually had/have the same need for UPS as you (sump pump + IT stack). These portable systems aren‘t cost effective, nor are they well suited for the task. I built a small scale system with 3kwh of backup with an inverter charger and 3 amperetime 100ah batteries. At full...
  • Post in thread: Need critique on my battery backup system

The precharge light is there as an indicator of the charge status of the inverter's DC link capacitors. Capacitors behave as short circuits when fully discharged and gradually approach open circuit as they're energized. I placed the bulb there so when the rotary switch is on precharge, a lit...
