I have my power supply set to 55V so that should safeguard against cooked cells assuming they stay in balance, so far so good on that front. Still only up to 51.3V while charging at 5 A presently. BMS is now up to 40% SOC so depending on how accurate that is I have about 12 hours of charge time...

Good point to check, yes the cell is only at 3.3V measured right at the terminals at the moment. I am indeed using alligator clips. I'll switch in a piece of wire bolted down with the supplied hardware and see what changes. Knowing that it is of course charging slower with the clips, but that...

Thanks for the clarification and the link. What would the benefit be of the relay? Just something when all else fails to protect the batteries? Trying to think when I'd use that rather than trusting the BMS or the inverter to shut off.

I did contact Overkill, they responded very quickly that it was 16s only so that's what I was basing it on. Based on people's responses here I think I'm going to go ahead and order 2 Eve cells and upgrade to 16s. Seems like a better path forward and I'm glad at least a couple others agree.

Understood, but with the cells I have I don't have a choice, they're too tall for the rack case. I can search for other cells but if I can get away with laying the EVE cells down that's best as I already have them.

Yeah mine is behaving a bit oddly at upper states of charge, the new 105 Ah Eve cell voltage jumps up before the other cells, leaving a lot of work for the balancer to do. It does balance out, but I'll be interested to see performance when I get a higher current capable charger.

That makes sense. I guess I'll spring for the 712 as a "buy once cry once" as I probably couldn't buy a 500 ADC relay for the price difference anyway. Plus that way I can use it as a disconnect for my initial capacity test on these packs rather than tripping the BMS.
