Ran this Koolertron w/ 24H load function overnight and every thing checks out. This controller does everything my larger ones do only now the rain and clouds have moved in at the same time, a bit early for the PNW. Full review in time.
I guess as technology improves, the smaller units will come...
I know there's a solution but not finding it yet. When battery bank cables are connected in parallel, specifically the point where the inline connection is made, (from battery post to the long cable that connects to the SCC, what is the device used to actually make the inline connection? Thanks
I've had this #2 awg before I got the SCC.
I read somewhere that larger wires are a safer application.
So as to understand, a slightly larger fuse than the max power flowing is what we want???
I'm having trouble with the program parameters as the instructions are vague.
Specifically setting the hour (day and night) mode for PV, & load - on/off.
Help if possible. Thanks
I felt that the low amp reading was off as well which is the reason for my initial question. The voltage was at 100%. I'm wired @ series/parallel.
The SCC is a 100 amp PowMr.
A series of events led me down a path of purchases I probably should have avoided. I found on CL, 5 - 275W solar panels...
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
A 100amp MPPT Charge Controller rated to Max Voc 96v, Vmp max 72v, 2600w max, has some new buddies ie. 4 - 275 w,
Panels rated Voc 39v, Vmp 32.1v, Imp 8.5 amps. How should these panels be connected to gather the most energy and still remain within the...
No, not in Greece, but it feels like it when I try to understand "sparks" and the flow thereof! I'm in the PNW.
My b-bank is 8 - 6v/225amh, lead acid, wired in series/parallel to = 24v / 450amh, connected w/ #2 cables.
My Inverter is a low budgit Chinese type, Cumsetzer 3000w, 24v, Pure sine...
Maybe coming from dragon country it's a misprint. The yellow sticker is on the front of the freezer. Does this help with the correct parameters on the unit?
Actually 1 is a cheapo 2 the inverter and the SCC both have meters as well and all are within a mean range. Kinda like triangulating with good results.
I will look into the "Junktek" though.
Thanks my friend.
Just received a 20a Koolertron controller from Amazon and I'm pleasantly surprised. Works and will test load over night. Bought it for a separate system and it has even got a solar input display.
Now we'll monitor longevity.
Went back to Amazon and a day later it's discontinued???
Hey Derpsy... Thanks so much as you saved my bacon. There were a lot of nice features on the Eco-Worthy inverter but I'm needing to max my system in winter and that charge controller, with your heads up, pushed me off the edge. It's scheduled for return and I just ordered a 100 amp controller...
Are solar systems vulnerable to EMP's or CMA's??? /panels/controllers/inverters/batteries/
wiring??? And if so, any advice or guidelines for protection there of???
Thanks Berseker, short and straight to the point. How would you wire 8 - 6v 225 amh batteries for this panel set up? My inverter is a 24v pure sine wave. Do you recommend breakers or in line fuses?
I've had some experience with small 12v rigs and thought I'd try this upgrade. And I agree, I...
Collectively my system, when constructed, will have 4 - 275w panels, a 100a MPPT SCC, 24v 3000k inverter. Having considered series/parallel connections for both batteries and panels I'm having a hard time understanding what size fuses and breakers would be most closely advantageous to the...
I looked into NVS's suggestion and now with your additional info, (hydrometer) I've got to ask, how often should this procedure take place? Is it recognizable in loss of storage/power or is there a "tell tale" that one becomes aware of before problems occur in the bank? Thank you so much guys...
From Amazon, as Eco-Worthy... 3000/6000w 24v Pure Sine. I feel confident that all my components will jive
but correct wiring is paramount. A couple of friendly and knowledgeable folks have helped w/ diagrams and my construction will move forward. Thanks...Derpsy
Hey Rednecktek... Thanks for...
Thanks for your generous input. It's a little past 4 am and I'm somewhat relieved as the freezer has run through the night with some 80% left in the battery. It's about 60° from yesterday's high of 84° with full sun.
Will be closely monitoring as clouds are coming and sun is waning.
If the SCC...
Thank you Mike. Your input is most reassuring and welcomed. As the unit has run all night with +< 80% battery reserve, I'm feeling like this exercise is in the rearview mirror and getting smaller.
