    Stolen solar panels?

You can also get a carbide pen and etch your name, or code number, on your panels to ID them if they are stolen. A carbide pen works on plastic, metal, glass, ceramic, all kinds of things. Permanent ink COULD be washed off by solvents, although not completely in many cases. Sometimes I use the...

    Spreading the word

Yes. The sewing machine is only drawing 0.4amps (400ma) so pretty much all solar "generators" (I hate that name) will provide that at their AC outlet. If they get a moderately expensive solar "generator" that will provide 10amps or more on the AC outlet they can use it for other things, like a...

Hey can someone check this out and see if it is ligit

From video: "These are designed for specific regions." Because in North America we use, what, 60hz power? And UK uses 50Hz I think. Or vice versa. Or versa vice. And much of Europe uses 220-240vac. Wouldn't a travel convertor handle that though, if it can handle the amps the charger wants to draw?

I read something interesting I need clarification!

Say whaaat? It just does a simple votage regulation with no increasing of the amps like in a transformer? I've seen voltage regulator chips. They just chop down the voltage to, say 3.3vdc, and the rest of the power is lost as heat.

Sudden Battery cut off under load

You already said you would charge up the pack and measure the voltage of each battery when charge, that's good. When the battery pack cuts off, can you measure the voltage of each cell then too? You might have a bad cell. Also, what brand are the batteries? I'm starting to notice a change in...

Discharging battery results vs charging results

I'm testing some AA lithium batteries that are charged via a built-in micro-usb port. On power banks I normally test via a discharge test. I do not yet have the equipment to test these AA cells via a discharge test. Most USB testers only go down to 3.7vdc. But when testing a lithium power bank...

    Testing capacity of AA battery

Thanks @A_justice. Moderate accuracy is fine as the results are for an Amazon review.

    Testing capacity of AA battery

@snoobler It's the AA cell common to the US. Nominal voltage is 1.5vdc. I will be using a load of about 200-400ma to test the capacity. Link: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07R2KK5P7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

    Testing capacity of AA battery

Yes I can put the batteries in a single AA holder and wire it to a tester if needed. The problem here is the range of voltage the tester will test. So I'd prefer a device that has 2 screw terminals (+ and -) for the battery.

    Testing capacity of AA battery

I'm trying to test the capacity of some AA lithium batteries that are charged from a micro-usb port. I have tested their capacity while charging, now I want to test their capacity from discharging and compare the results. I'm having a very hard time finding testers that willi go down to 1vdc or...

I want to build a solar only Fan.

At 90w 12vdc your fan is running at 7.5amps. It might be wise to get a speed controller that handles those higher amps.

Not sure if this will be helpful heating and insulation

Just some ideas for portable heating, including alcohol stoves. Various types of alcohol can be used with alcohol stoves and they are safe to use indoors. Long link to html file.

    Buying from Aliexpress

Shipping from Aliexpress can take 4-8 weeks to get to you. Items I ordered in November mostly didn't get here until 6-7 weeks later, which is the Xmas season here in the US. Which means lots of shipping packages.

    Off Grid LED Lighting

How much light do you need? Do you want a separate solar panel? Do you want a whole system with the LED lights, solar panel, and battery? How much do you want to spend? I'll just post some random systems. Solar security light...

    Livestock Water Heating

What about installing a passive solar heater on the south side of the barn (where the sun shines the most) and have water tubing going through that heater? Some people use the passive solar heater to heat the whole barn if it's insulated enough. Something like this but larger: Here's an...
