The Growatt SC4880 I purchased just died! It was showing charging but 0 A were going to the batteries.
No faults or anything. It showed the battery voltage and the PV voltage but no A or W.
I replaced it with the old Outback MX60 and I'm back charging.
I did switch to the Growatt SC4880 SCC.
I'm not sure I like it though. The Outback gave me much more information and data logging.
I don't have the Growatt connected to the Lifepower4 EG4 batteries either - not sure if it is possible.
The manual that came with the unit is different than the...
I have the EG4 Lifepower4 batteries and the Growatt SC4880 SCC and am trying to find out if they can be connected so the SCC can communicate to the battery BMSs.
Is this possible? I can't seem to figure it out from the Growatt information.
Yes, working great so far.
You just have to set the absorb and float values appropriately.
I have the EG4 Lifepower4 LFPs and have the float set to 53.8V and the absorb set to 54.5V. I had to play with the values a bit.
I did disconnect the BTS and turn off the equalize - set the interval to 0...
Just curious, what did you end up doing?
I have a similar system, a Trace SW4048 inverter with an Outback MX60 charge controller and 16 Trojan L16s (2x8).
My batteries are starting to fail and need to get something that is easier to maintain and lasts longer.
I was going to get 4 48V/100Ah...
Are you still using the Outback MX60 SCC?
I just purchased
4x EG4-LL 5.12 kWh batteries (20 kWh total) from Signature Solar,
and am waiting for the Growatt SC4880 SCC to be back in stock.
In the mean time I was going to just use my MX60 and disconnect the BTS, set Equalization interval to 000...
I can't set the coefficient to 0% but I did not think about just disconnecting it.
I'll check into that - looks like I can then just change the voltages manually.
Thanks for this information!
I'll check it over for my inverter and see if it helps my issue.
When the inverter went off it displayed "HBCO resets at: 6V" which is the value for a 48V system:
This is the battery voltage at which the inverter turns off. The inverter will automatically restart...

Yeah, looks like we are in the same boat!
I did look at the Victron charge controller and the 150/60 would be a 1:1 replacement for my current Outback MX-60 with some nice features.
It may be wise to go with the 250/100 for growth potential - since panels are cheap now.
I just need to do...
I checked the manual (thanks) and it looks like if I disconnect the BTS it will not use it so I can disable it that way.
I can then set my Absorb and Float manually and disable the equalization by setting the interval to 000 days.
I'll give it a try and see how it works!
Did you have to make any other adjustments for the LiFePO4 batteries?
I have a SW4048 inverter and just switched from FLAs to the LiFePO4 batteries.
I've had one instance where the inverter reset - went into the off mode and I had to manually swith it back on.
I did not change any of the cut...
