    Warpverter

Shoot through of 200ns can occur on start up with the OzInverter with a poor switch on proceedure and can give contact bounce on the IFB or TFB error condition. With the Warpverter, Tony has cleverly removed shoot through possibility by his design. I am now working with 'GASPO's 'anti shoot...

    Warpverter

Okay good to know. With the OzInverter we keep the windings reasonably tight on the winding counts, so we have reasonable headroom at about 44vdc to 62vdc of back charging the battery. I have used 3 main methods to control the raw back charging by controling the AC back charging GTI's. So for...

Been thinking about the 'Warpverter' for use in ac coupleing and back charging to the batteries. ????

DIY Inverters, Making the Toroid transformer. From the OzInverter book Chapter 4. The toroid is the most effiecent transformer, with only small losses compared to the standard EI square lanimated transformers. This Chapter 4 contains all the required info on making your own torroids for an...

Totally agree with Warpspeed, getting the choke spot on is a black art, as there are so many varibles at play.

I thought that some of you might want a good tech read about Inverters. It shows the development and general tech explanations of the PWM inverters and other concepts. I therefore hereby release my Chapter 14, Tech Info, as a PDF. Leslie Bryan, 03 Feb 2024..

Here is big Ozinverter, toroid assembly is 42kg. And the standard OzInverter with a toroid of 30kg.

Looks like the old (about 2013) Power Jack power board. They were good up to about 3kw and a smallish toroid. Here is a photo of my design, based from the W7 PowerStar that 'Oztules' worked with. The Chinese used the W7 for the Later PowerJacks.

    Warpverter

Hi Tony, I have given up on supplying the 3 PCB's as Country's Customs have become a real stop on small PCB batches, especially those A4 double thick copper Power boards of mine. I have a few control boards, 50HZ and 60HZ, and cooling boards in stock, so i will offer them for the meantime...

    Warpverter

Hi Tony, Just read through this thread, and what a interesting read. I have attached a PDF file from the 'OzInverter' book Tech chapter, that you wrote up a few pages for me, about your clever design and build of the 'Warpverter'. I trust this is okay? Roger's 'Warpverter' looks real nice my...

Do You Ever Regret Going Off Grid?

Okay... but honestly, .... We here in Normandy, France have been off Grid and On Grid for getting on 20 years. All distribution circuits have main Change over switches and we do not back supply to the Grid utilities, and even if we did the law states only 3kw. We kept the 9kw Grid connection...

    The rack mounted Quattro 10,000VA

Here is one of my 38kg / 83lb, 6KW run all day, complete toroid assemblies. Note .... the toroid has centre air flow. Primary winding is 50mm/2 cable.

    The rack mounted Quattro 10,000VA

Heat and convection need to be designed correctly. The toroids get hot when under load for some time, having a good forced air flow over them is a must. Normally i design big power inverters, 6Kw and upwards, with a push pull forced temp control fan system. Fans draw in air from the base of...
