The BMS is a Helltec preceeded by a 60A fuse. There is also a smaller car type fuse of 20A, as there is another 12V connector for lights and low power 12V devices. Battery to inverter are connectors with 25A for each pin, so combined 100A(at least that’s what the chinese manufacturer says)...
  • Post in thread: Battery needs to be jumped if drained

A "12V" LiFePo4 at 13V is almost empty. A full one has 14.2V. Just get yourself one of these for around 30$ so you can measure current at any time in the most easy way. Then you just measure what you draw during the night and you calculate how much battery capacity you need. If you run the...
  • Post in thread: Fake QR Code-Lifepo4 battery cells

I'm one of their victims too, but let's write their names correctly here for others to find the warning: The stores that sell LiitoKala all sell old second hand badly performing cells. Everything with LiitoKala is to be avoided.
  • Post in thread: 12V 1000W AIO portable system

This is a 12V 1000W system with an all in one Easun 230V inverter which I made with the idea of portability in mind. It fits nicely in the boot of my car when I go to my cabin at the end of the world. Otherwise it sits beside my desk and powers my monitor. The combiner box is currently for 4x...
  • Post in thread: 12V 1000W AIO portable system

individual cell voltage and battery voltage for the ESP device for today
  • Post in thread: Dud liitokala "A grade new" cells?

That's why it's important to spread the message here and to name the sellers, so that people can find the information easily via the search option.
  • Post in thread: 200w solar system expectations...

You might be lucky, most of the old halogen spots were 12V and had a transformer inside. Otherwise, just change them to 12V LED stuff. The 12V LED spots are dirt cheap, you can even get them locally in Europe nowadays at nearly the price of Aliexpress.
  • Post in thread: Full Battery Low Voltage?

As Mattb4 spotted, you are at 10.9V, completely and utterly discharged. This battery needs to be disconnected immediately from anything, and be recharged. If you have nothing else, you can hook up a 12V panel directly during day time for at least 1h in sunshine. This will restore the voltage and...
  • Post in thread: LiitoKala = fire hazard

Today I checked my little system and found battery electrolyte leaking. One LiitoKala cell which was already damaged when I received it, was leaking. This is a potential fire hazard, as the cell might lose all electrolyte and become hot while still charging. Thermal runway, and fire could...
  • Post in thread: Dumb question about battery voltages

But your reasoning is ok. That's why we now see 48V aircon and fridges appearing. 12V is only good for lights, because you do not want to handle currents above 50A.
  • Post in thread: Dud liitokala "A grade new" cells?

I tried to open a dispute for quality issues, but then Ali does not let you upload the picture and you cannot finish the dispute. Very clever organized LOL. Just take it as a partial loss and move on. These sellers like liitokala Official Store , LiitokalaVariCoreFlagship Store and many others...
  • Post in thread: LiitoKala = fire hazard

Yes, and this should be communicated to all newcomers. So they can save a few bucks and do not need to learn it the hard way.
  • Post in thread: Time to receive batteries from Ali Express

My seller has reacted on the dispute and provided another tracking website. Basically only an IP without domain. I've checked it in whois, and it seems Alibaba related. There is a new entry that the package is with customs on 4th of november (today). I've double checked another tracking from...
  • Post in thread: LiitoKala = fire hazard

Yes, you reposted them yourself in #16 the last 3 pictures you can see the cell new and the cardboard box with the white oxide particles inside. That's how they arrived. I thought it's outside oxidation, but this must have been a micro crack in the aluminum. I scratched the white stuff off and...
  • Post in thread: Solar combiner box help

Don't confuse the bypass diodes of the panels with the reverse blocking diodes in the combiner box. Ideal diodes for more than 60 to 100V are difficult to find. The high voltage Mosfet's internal resistance would make them as inefficient as silicon diodes.
  • Post in thread: 200w solar system expectations...

Well in the old days, you would never charge them to 100% , you would stop at 13.8V. And under 12V they were considered completely empty. But these were the days when lead acid cells would last for 50 years. This is not desired anymore, like many other things from the past.
  • Post in thread: 200w solar system expectations...

Yes 12V panels output 18 or 20V if no load is connected. Connect a load and the voltage goes down depending on the size of your load. Thats where the MPTT controller starts to make sense.
  • Post in thread: My SPD caused a fire hazard? what is the cause?

This seems the most likely. A failed mosfet or IGBT in the bridge could cause this. But the local electrician will have issues to figure this out. There was no report of what voltage has been measured in the dark on the SPD.
  • Post in thread: DIY CATL 302ah 16S build

I like the tidiness of your balance wires. Unlike other battery builds here where the wires fly all over the place.
  • Post in thread: My SPD caused a fire hazard? what is the cause?

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with the SPD that burned. Here is another video which shows a similar device. I wonder if there are any good ones out there, or only this crap which does not disconnect. With this behavior, one can skip these SPD completely.
  • Post in thread: 12V 1000W AIO portable system

Yeah, in reality this piece is in a plastic box too, as there are wires directly from the battery coming in.
  • Post in thread: 200w solar system expectations...

They look like maintenance free batteries. Do you feel the acid moving inside when you shake them? It could be gel batteries, these do not need top up with DISTILLED water. What type of batteries are these?
  • Post in thread: Active balancer, make it smart!?

Yes I use this ESP 8266 but in another package. It has an ADC but unreliable not linear, good for nothing. I use the internal ADC to guess the battery voltage for the device itself. Here again, half baked chinese stuff. Therefore there is an external Texas Instruments ADS1015 (probably a faked...
  • Post in thread: LiFePo4 received ready inflated. Can I use them?

They have high internal resistance and are garbage. My ones even started to leak. Search for Liitokala here in the forum, there are a few posts from myself and other victims of their G-grade cells. Now write them off and buy quality from the recommended sellers.
  • Post in thread: 12V 1000W AIO portable system

10€ on Aliexpress and there are some with lights and some which constantly change from displaying W, kWh and A, but I did buy one without light and only showing kWh. There are also mechanical ones they look like the old style disc type, but they have stepper motors inside.
  • Post in thread: How to evaluate the LiFePo4 cell level from China.

Yes, indeed. I always had trouble reading and writing LOL. But anyway, thanks for the figures, this is very interesting.
  • Post in thread: EVE-280 cells should these be clamped tight or spaced for expansion?

I went through the whole compression thread, and I have a question: Each cell is supposed to expand 0.5mm which makes it at least 2mm for a pack of 4 cells. Now these 0.5mm go in some direction, one cell pushes the other a little bit further. In your installations: like this one I see 4 cells...
  • Post in thread: LiitoKala = fire hazard

Yeah sure official official store LOL If you check my order screenshot, it says there Liitokala official store. How more official can it be? There are a number of official stores for every product. Every seller can name his store what he wants - as long as it does not disturb the communist party...
  • Post in thread: 200w solar system expectations...

Your expectations are too high. The solar panels give in the best case 80% of their rated output. The issue with your system is the constantly running inverter. My 1000W AIO inverter draws 20W idle. That means 0.5kWh per day for nothing. So put the lights to 12V, and turn the inverter on only...
  • Post in thread: 200w solar system expectations...

If they made a noise like water inside, then they are wet Lead acid. Be careful when you open the plastic cover, you might wish to wear safety glasses. A little drop of H2SO4 in your eye will do great damage. On your clothes, it will only make a small hole.
