The only negative report so far is Will said he charged them up and left them sit for an extended period of time and they self discharges too much.
They are less than $1000 USD now so there has to be a catch but it this catch big enough for your use-case, reliability requirements and support...
Good to hear they arrived. I suspect the have a logistics partner that runs the Toronto warehouse and finds the cheapest LTL freight route depending on delivery location.. The logistics people must not relay the correct info back to AOLithium for updating the web orders.
Yes likely good idea to...
I finally found out how to get the AOLithium Server Rack battery to communicate with Voltronic inverters over RS485.
You need to flip only the first DIP switch on and leave the others off then set the inverter battery type to LI-b instead of PYL.
The kicker is that the BMS will only read the...
I have one on the way and will let you know.. Looks to be a rebranded LV6548... despite the 6500EX-48 name. I only have 4kW of panels so will have dual 2kW strings and the unit seemed to be well suited to that.
Was also looking at the SP6548 with the 390V PVOC but not sure if the consumption on...

Looks like EFG battery has them on clearence.. But they are basic like the SOK..

oh I am not too familiar with that gear so perhaps communications is not required or feasible.
As long as the positive and negative leads connecting to the inverter are not attached to the same battery pack it should be able to share the current properly. With the parallel cables just make sure...
There seems to be a discrepancy in the front panel labels in the manual vs. the units Will has/had.
Too bad Will's video is the only one on youtube and it doesn't show all that much.. did he install the parallel com cables during testing?
Manual does not even mention the RS323 port i dont...
If your battery runs LI-b protocol the current driver does not support pack temperature values and it does not support viewing data for each pack.. only the nominal average values of the stack.
This goes for Ruixu for sure.
SA support didn't respond when I highlighted this feature request.
Thanks for the info.. Yeah I wonder if the BMS display firmware has some limitation about displaying low amp draws or if it's just not detected at all.. May be good idea to see how balanced the cells are over time.
There was another guy that said he bought a bunch but his account seems to have...
Hmmm, this has me reconsidering the 6k Luxpower now...
I have a variant of the Voltronic 6548 with the 250VOC capability. I only really have room for 2 strings of 5 405W Longi Panels and they seem to sit at 90-ish volts until the full sun comes through.
This 100v limit makes me think the...
Maybe you can make a custom cable using the Rx and Tx ports on the RJ11 port on yours would have to try to see if the Rx and Tx can be used as RS485A and RS485B lines.
You need to make sure the SOK battery is configured for Pylon 485 and not Pylon CAN..
Current Connected has a good YouTube video showing how to configure communication between the SOK and Voltronic units that use RS485.
You may have to make a new cable to connect to the SOK programming port...
They are made by Futronics, (http://futronicsconnector.com/list_14/81.html)..
They seem to be selling them here: https://www.metabee.com/waterproof-energy-storage-connector-right-angle-125a-orange-25mm2-unshielded-cable-z-key-id20220600044.html
They are close to 40VOC each. I can get away with making it a single 10s run but I had them as individual 5s runs to work with the 250VOC model of the Voltronic 6548. I did the swap the other evening and kept the configuration to make the swap easier. I may switch to 10s later when I have some...
I heard back from support who has to ask the engineers...
Apparently the pack will support communication with Voltronic 485 but they still have not illustrated to process or settings to use.
They did say that for Voltronic comms over RS485 they only support one singe pack to one inverter...
I eventually got a reply from support, seems they had to do a round of questioning with the BMS supplier/engineers...
Sounds like this BMS only supports CAN communications in the way we are used to (master-slave) and the 5th and 6th DIP switches are likely only switching of CAN protocols...
This guy seems to have found some BMS documentation... its not a well known unit from my knowledge..

If you had a 60V bench top power supply you could set it to 51VDC to power it up, just like Will does with his SP6548 video... but not much you can do except play with the display unless you have the PV and battery
I have one unit attached to a buss bar with 4 other Ruixu packs. The Ruixu stack has communications to the 6548 and wants to charge to 56V.
The AOLithium says to charge to 57.6 but I noticed it stopped charging at 56V while the Ruixu's are still taking in about an amp.. It seems that the...
ok thanks,
I would imagine that Solar Assistant has to add this capability to their "Voltronic LI-b" protocol driver... right now all we get on the battery details are total Capacity, power, current, voltage and max current details. It does not split out details for each pack.
Their EG4...
I am 99% sure the SunGoldPower SP6548 is Voltronic hardware so the flavour of Pylon is is expecting to see is Pylon-485. Almost all other inverters other than Voltronic use Pylon-CAN as I understand.
There are 3 variables to make certain of:
SP6548 is set to PYL mode
AOlithium battery is set...
I think I have found the connectors... appear to be made by Futronics.. I think the OE is the 6.0 single core that maxes out at 25mm2 wire.. The refuse to sell me more "discharge cables" so I may see If I can make my own to implement the bus-bar system. They even offer 8.0 and larger if someone...
OK thanks... in my setup I cant swap out the LV6548 for the 6KXP until I have a Chargeverter-like device as I don't have a 240V input alternative to PV. hope the price bump isn't too much.
Unfortunately there are virtually no definitive documented testing of these packs by independents or influencers. The community will have to do it I guess and report back here.
Ruixu just jacked up the prices on the Canadian website 1 day after offering a "preorder" discount... so AOLithium is by far the most cost effective option in Canada right now. There is just so little info about them.
How long was the wait for shipping in Canada? Was it sent from within country or was it sent from overseas with import surprises?
I was thinking of getting 4 singles rather than 4-unit kit.. That way they one could avoid the undersized parallel cables..
I thought the SP6548 was a Voltronics...
They should be able to, it would be in the "Voltronic" style
all the DIPS should be off (down) on all the packs.
you will need to make sure the communication cable has the right pin-outs on teh inverter side.. just need the A and B for the RS485 communication
set the inverter to "LI-b" protocol...
