um. WHAT?!!?
i just found out that schneider discontinued their system control panel. like, WTF??! when did *THIS* happen? guess it's been replaced with their (WAY overpriced) insighthome/facility offerings. (and FYI, they discontinued their cheaper 'gateway', which is the EXACT SAME thing...
(as any good story starts) so, no $hit, there i was...
...minding my own business, just poking round my Insight Cloud account and i was looking at the settings of my CC's. i've been having an "issue" with one of them turning off or not charging at all after my system goes from Bulk/Absorb to...
yea, i had the same question. it makes NO SENSE that there is a battery-storage-limit on either device! schneider customer service couldn't answer either. i've got 86kWh of storage and use the Facility, no problem.
the 2 main differences between InsightHome and InsightFacility are the amount...
@hammick , i see your "1200 miles away from home" and raise you to 7500 miles!! LOL! i, too, have used InsightCloud, but i now use a Cloudflare Zero Trust tunnel on an old computer to access my home network as if i'm physically there - pretty awesome, actually! i can get into my InsightFacility...
really? i just can't understand NOT having an interface to the system using buttons you physically push! LOL!
are you just using insightlocal via combox/gateway/home/facility then? i mean, that IS totally valid i guess.
it just sucks that schneider in their INFINITE WISDOM sell a $3500...
yea, i hear y'all. i've got the insightfacility myself and LOVE the functionality of using it through insight cloud & insight local. using the computer is WAY more convenient.
HOWEVER...
just like Koldsimer said, sometimes it's just nice/convenient to check a screen if i just so happen to be...
yea - i emailed them some questions and didn't receive responses for weeks. THEN, when i did get a response, the info they told me was wrong! THAT'S why i'm relying on this forum and the good ol' internet and YouTube now...
i really REALLY like their equipment. it's been super-solid for me.
ok. follow me on this:
right now it says 53.3V, 94%, 19.0degC, and 9d16h46m.
currently pulling 310w from battery and 266w to load.
9d16h46m = 9.699 days and 1500Ah @ 51.2V = 76.8kWh (i have my battery monitor set to a total of 1500Ah...)
so:
310w x 24h = 7.44kWh
7.44kWh x 9.699days =...
just curious: are you in a climate where there is NO CHANCE of freezing? like, at ALL? just wondering b/c my hydronic system uses glycol in the loop... then there is a heat exchanger in the hot water tank. so it's a closed loop. i couldn't quite tell from your pics...
interesting. i'm clearly not savvy on the particulars! LOL!
well, at the end of the day (for the OP), LiFePO4 chemistry works with his (or basically any) inverter. just not BMS supported.
and, honestly, i don't see WHY people care that their BMS communicates with the rest of the system. the...
ok. new (cloudy) day, but that shouldn't matter really. we're charging. SO:
same math as above. just charging instead of discharging, right?
725w x 2.45h (that's 2h27m...) = 1.776kWh
1.776kWh is 2.3% of the full 76.8kWh.
so, the battery monitor *should* be showing us at 97.7% if it thinks...
hey everyone! i'd say over the past few months, i've noticed in the InsightCloud dashboard, it doesn't/refuses to show historical data pertaining to Solar Production. it'll show daily production no problem, but just WON'T show Month/Year/Lifetime data anymore! i can still go into...
oh yea, my Xantrex 6048 was truckin' along perfectly since 2008! i recently upgraded to two 6848's. the equipment is ROCK solid! i came across a youtube video, and in the comments someone off-handedly mentioned the SCP was discontinued. i thought that was the most ignorant comment, so i...
hey guys!
ok, i installed my Schneider Conext Battery Monitor about 2 weeks ago on my new DIY 1680aH LifePO4 battery bank. (yea, 6x 280aH batteries) and i just finally got a full charge. i've been watching the progress of the charging through Schneider's Insight Cloud and i'm a lil confused...
ok, i scoured the internet. and came up with nothing.
i'm looking at the Schneider Conext Battery Monitor for my Schneider system and i'm trying to figure out what the darn stud size for the battery connection on the included shunt is. can't find it *ANYWHERE*. i'm guessing either 5/16 or...
to be clear - i don't have it yet to measure myself. i'm overseas and only home for a short period where i can't exactly wait for mail to show up. trying to do all my research now and order everything before i get home! thanks for the help everyone!
...ugh...
just over an hour later, sun is trying to peak out. now it's showing HIGHER voltage (which is fine), HIGHER percentage (which makes sense), AND MORE TIME!!
4% of 76.8kWh = *ONLY* 3.02kWh needed till 'full' (i have faith in the SOC%)
but now it's calculating/telling me: 2.33kW x...
you say "S/E Insight box"... is it the Combox, Insight Home, or Insight Facility? regardless, is your wi-fi stable from your access point? i.e. does the wi-fi/network loose connectivity at all when this happens? is your "S/E Insight box" within range of the access point or just *barely* able...
yes, LiFePO4 batteries work with the inverters.
yes, you would use the CUSTOM battery settings.
no, they WILL NOT work in a 'closed loop' - there is no communication of the BMS over the Xanbus network for anything other then the 2 battery manufacturers that Schneider 'approved'. can't remember...
i'm re-reading your comment... are you having a problem with the Insight Cloud when you log into your account online? or do you think your "S/E Insight box" isn't connecting to your LOCAL network at all?
are you able to log into your "S/E Insight box" directly from your computer (using the...
ok, you are using Insight Home. got it. yea, that one (and the ONLY one Schneider has that is) is already self-terminated for the Xanbus network and needs to be on one of the ends.
you keep mentioning 'lan' - as in Local Area Network? Xanbus is *technically* it's own LAN with it's own...
i'm under the impression its the two companies that schneider allowed to see how their Xanbus protocol worked. that's the reason those BMS's/batteries work with the Schneider equipment.
there are OTHER batteries are "UL tested" or 'approved', and yet, they don't work with the Schneider...
it shouldn't be that hard to find. the Combox is usually available from someone on ebay. i've even seen it sold as 'new old' stock from online retailers...
sure!
so, here's why i'm confused:
'a' & 'b' were both taken 24 hours from each other and NOT during charging. 'a' has more voltage and SOC and less time on the counter, than 'b'. (albeit using slightly more power... but not a 50% difference! remember, my bank is ~88kWh.)
'c' was taken...
keep in mind: the SOC was NOT calibrated yet in any of these pics as the bank hadn't been fully charged yet... so i was taking the SOC % with a rock-of-salt!
which leads to another thing: if it 'thinks' it is at 100%, why would it still say +1d?
just trying to figure it out.
again, that was another thought - time since last 'equilazation' is shown while charging... however, it was WAY less than +1d since the monitor 'thought' it had reached 100%.... more like, maybe, 3 hours prior.
just finished watching andys video on the Victron DVCC setting. it sounds pretty straight forward of a setting and should be everywhere, but does anyone know if the Conext ecosystem from Schneider has any similar setting?
for context:
apparently the "DVCC" setting (Distributed Voltage and...
i wouldn't think one cell in the battery going 'over voltage' would set off the XWpro's high voltage alarm. it may (should) cut the battery off, yes, but not set off the inverters alarm. so:
1) what is the over voltage alarm set to in the XWpro6848?
2) what is the bulk/absorb set to in the...
if xanbus is disconnected, what info is possibly being collected/pushed? or are you just trying to narrow down the insighthome's communication over the internet?
it's just a little confusing b/c the insighthome DOES have local communication - 1) through a direct Wi-Fi connection to the device...
old thread, fine. but to help anyone else out:
it sounds like you don't have the "Advanced" menu settings enabled.
push: [ENTER] + [UP arrow] + [Down Arrow] together. this turns on the Advanced Menu settings and allows access to everything. no SCP needed.
