A YouTube video explains that you can have both connected (as long as there are enough USB ports) but the system will only read one at a time and so you can swap between the methods ad-hoc.
Where does Home Assistant get the weather forecast from? And you've got that setup to automatically adjust Grid import. How does all that integrate, does your Inverter talk to Home Assistant as well?
I was given it by the installer. It changes every day but follows the format of the current date in reverse preceded by growatt. Today's will be growatt20230122
Thanks this looks great and easily available in the UK, I've ordered one along with one the FTDI cables to self-crimp for the comms. That should take care of the inverter just need to decide what to do with the battery if I want to go direct
Hi, I've had Solar Assistant up and running for about 6 a month now. It's way more reliable than Shinephone. I lost that recently for about 2 weeks until I had time to completely reinstall the data logger. In relation to your questions,
1. Not all the settings, I can't find the section for time...
By the time you do want it it may not be an issue anymore! It would be good to be able to change the grid tied charging from SA but I very rarely use it that it's not too much of a problem to use Shinephone unless it's down
The link is on the website to join and explains all about it. It's pretty stable, occasionally comes up with connection issues but a refresh of the app usually sorts it. There's a nice percentage drop/charge per hour rate on the main page and then there may be other changes but I don't really...
Is 3500 cycles realistic or are they down playing the longevity. Also DOD of 80% seems a little disappointing. Are these figures what a DIY option is likely to produce?
Sorry to go back to the smart shunt convo, but is it as simple as battery negative goes to smart shunt connection, then other end goes onto Inverter negative, positive goes from battery direct to Inverter and then the Victron connector would go to the Pi?
I keep seeing pics of all sorts and...
I've got a Growatt battery so may not be able to go direct and need to either use the emulation feature or the Inverter values. Need to do some more research
Where are you plus and minus cables? The older inverter has a rectangular cover over all the ports and the battery terminals on the bottom right hand side of the inverter
I've just been having a look around and I'm not sure what the new options mean. Lots of new terms and there's no obvious load priorities anymore and the AC charging is a mystery. Guess I'll be using the app not the web interface as that still has the old terms and I know where everything is!
@wattmatters very interesting stuff. I've just signed up for a Solcast account, I'm hoping to Home Assistant the house at some point. Tiny and Micro PC's appear to be seeing the same price increases as RPi's though. I watched a guy on YouTube do a proxmox install and run comparison benchmark...
This video shows the enclosure opened up and you can see the batteries inside
Although the enclosure isn't exactly the same as mine, I have LEDs on the front. I thought they'd be the same
Ok thanks. Just one question, my current setup Growatt SPH and GBLI6532 battery are currently connected directly to each other there is no breaker between the two (as I found out when fitting the Pi) is that safe?
I'm in the UK does installing a shunt negate any MCS or DNO regulations?
It's going to take a while for me to start calling for any API's I think!
I've got some other bits for home which are a priority like getting the consumer unit upgraded and installing an induction hob to reduce our need for gas a bit further, and then getting an EV chargepoint and EV. Our...
Oh right. Easy enough then. I don't have that option owing to where the installation is. Is it all still working ok and do you find the info useful above what the Shineapp displays?
Hi, I'm looking to increase battery capacity as well using a SPH6000. I have a GBLI65332, which is 6.5kWh I understand the internals are just 2xUS2000 Pylontech batteries in an enclosure. Will I be able to connect Pylontech batteries in series to add them or would it have to another GBLI65332...
Hi Papu, I've just noticed that your Discharge Stopped SOC is set at 95%, mine shows 5% in that box meaning I can use 95% (if I understand it properly?). Do you have lots being imported from the grid? Also you can set a zero export with a meter attached inline I found a Growatt video on YouTube...
Hi sorry, is that usually built in. Does this device look appropriate?

Is the victron shunt the best option, are there any others. I don't have any Victron equipment will that matter?
I got the Pi setup and connected the other day and am finally getting reliable data. I haven't been able to access the Shineapp for 2 days now
Is it possible for you to let me know what your order of wires is on the RS485, I have all my pieces now just need the software and to flash the Pi.
Is it possible to get a picture of the plug head so I know I'm doing it right please?
I've just seen this added to my app, and plant details. It says it's disconnected and I had a warning that my inverter power is less than the quoted PV power and I should check. Is this a new feature? Anyone know what the setting should be as my device serials are the same for the battery and...
It says it's adjustable 6-40v but the ones linked to earlier in the thread go up to 48v or 60v. If it's adjustable does it fluctuate based on the available power?
I'm planning on connecting it to the DC breaker like a video shows on YouTube with the official kit so when the inverters on it has...
Surely the issue is with Solis in the above example from Oldman2 not the battery manufacturer who's communication for he's trying to use? I bet all the inverter manufacturers have systems they've tested and confirm there are no compatibility issues but when technologies change it can be tricky...
