I have ordered 10 solar panels a Chargeverter and 2 Brightmount racks and all of my items arrived really fast the original Brightmount rack was back ordered in July I called got a response from an English speaking human in about 15 minutes. Was told they would be about another week and sure...
  • Post in thread: Install and Operation of the SUNGOLD 10KW 48V SPLIT PHASE SOLAR INVERTER

No I’m open loop using the victron smart shunt to measure state of charge and it’s incredibly accurate!
  • Post in thread: Install and Operation of the SUNGOLD 10KW 48V SPLIT PHASE SOLAR INVERTER

sometimes you just have a cell that drops below the BMS allowable parameters its not neccsarrily defective Its happened to me before also, just do a top and bottom balance and watch that particular cell it will probably be fine once they all balance out. for instance my cell number 8 on my top...
  • Post in thread: Install and Operation of the SUNGOLD 10KW 48V SPLIT PHASE SOLAR INVERTER

I agree that reducing the max charge voltage to keep cell 9 from spiking. my cell 9 was doin te same thing which is why I settled on 55.2 for bulk charge it gets to 100 soc fairly quick but stops the cell 9 from triping OVP. You can still get to full with less voltage but I found 55.2 gets...
  • Post in thread: Install and Operation of the SUNGOLD 10KW 48V SPLIT PHASE SOLAR INVERTER

I gave up long ago on closed loop for my SGP batteries. it didn’t help at all and the master battery was basically dictating everything for the others in user mode I was able to set parameters that made all my batteries happy.
  • Post in thread: SunGoldPower solar panels?

I bought 12 450 watt sun gold power panels I tested about 8 of them individually and got over 400 watts per panel just messing around trying to pint them at the sun ive been pleased so far.
  • Post in thread: Install and Operation of the SUNGOLD 10KW 48V SPLIT PHASE SOLAR INVERTER

Yes I bought the 12 stud bus bars from signature solar and I attached that to my SGP battery rack. Then I connected the batteries to my inverter using 4/0 wire and the victron lynx distributor, this is not necessary but I liked how clean it was and I use the victron smart shunt for battery...
  • Post in thread: Install and Operation of the SUNGOLD 10KW 48V SPLIT PHASE SOLAR INVERTER

Sure can! Let me get some more but this is all I have on me right now also I have a quick walk through video if you are interested.
  • Post in thread: So is 93.7 my max capacity now?

Well, I did that last night. The BMs actually cut it off reported 0 Ah and it fully charged only to 937. Also, it says the state of health is only 93.7. I’ll isolate the pack and try again and see..
  • Post in thread: New 10kw NHX AIO From Watts247

If you are going without comms you can use the Victron smart shunt to get accurate state of charge and use it with solar assistant to handle automations Works great! You just need the Ve direct cable to your pi!
  • Post in thread: Sun Gold Power 6500 is a clone? Or MPP Solar just pissy at the competition?

I bought 2 SunGold Sp6548 and am running them in split phased mode. I currently have no batteries which I was told was not possible in split phase but I have AC input that I guess is regulating that. I haven’t had any flickering issues but again I’m battery less but I am inverting DC to AC as...
  • Post in thread: SP6548 firmware update

Have you selected the correct battery designation ? If you are using SunGold batteries they have to be set to pylon. User is actually better settings for control in my opinion you can better tweak the charge parameters to suite your needs
  • Post in thread: Sungold Batteries with a EG4 6000xp

The 6000xp only uses can protocol for communication switch the port on the Sungold batteries to the Can port and make sure your master battery dip switch first digit is up and the others all down to designate it as the master. It should be plug and play after that. Make sure you select...
  • Post in thread: Install and Operation of the SUNGOLD 10KW 48V SPLIT PHASE SOLAR INVERTER

i just connected by cables as per the picture and now I’m getting full charge and correct SOC for Al my batteries! Connected inverter 1 to battery one with supplied cables and then the rest of stack just started charging and no error codes !!
  • Post in thread: Install and Operation of the SUNGOLD 10KW 48V SPLIT PHASE SOLAR INVERTER

Your bulk charging is much lower then mine I have mine set at 55.3 Off grid garage did several tests on many different lithium batteries and 3.45 per cell seems to be the magic number and it works well for me as well. I set my float to 55.2 help balance them out. After bulk charged is reached...
  • Post in thread: Install and Operation of the SUNGOLD 10KW 48V SPLIT PHASE SOLAR INVERTER

This is another reason I stopped using closed loop you end up having one battery dictate charging for all the others.
  • Post in thread: Shocked by Shed please help!

Today I went to open the handle of my shed and I got a nasty jolt, please help!! Here is my setup I have 8 450 watt panels on my shed. They are going to two SunGold power SP 6548 that I have in split phase. My AC in from the grid is going to both of my inverters. The main panel has...
  • Post in thread: 6500EX-48 idle consumption

Are you sure? I’m battery mode my meter stops? I have a digital meter on my home and if I’m battery mode it pulls everything from the battery and PV . What’s odd is when it’s in Line or grid mode it pulls idle from battery but also uses about 70 watts total for 2 inverters from the grid to I...
  • Post in thread: New 10kw NHX AIO From Watts247

Why the dig deal if a small amount gets pushed to grid? Does the poco know and then comes after you for no interconnect agreement?
  • Post in thread: 6500 “ AC in” doing strange things…

Maybe some of you guys know the answer to this one. I have noticed in my electric meter usage that sometimes and mostly in the evenings that my sp6548 ‘s Are pulling small loads from the grid like between 35-80 watts. Not all the time and not during heavy sun or heavy PV production it’s...
  • Post in thread: Error code help?

Yes I am running SunGold batteries
  • Post in thread: 6500 “ AC in” doing strange things…

It seems to have no variance but today it was at 100 percent state of charge and my outside meter still said it was using about 70 watts sometimes 100 and setting 12 is 47 volts
  • Post in thread: Error code help?

It’s a SunGold power 6548 , Thanks but I just went back to user mode not really any advantage to the BMS inverter communication, It was limiting my charging to .2c and (20) amps and that’s not going to work for me. If the battery can take 100 I’m sending 100. Thanks again .
  • Post in thread: Earth ground connection help

Thanks for the help yesterday guys!. I now know that I need to Earth ground my solar panels and it seems to be that the majority agree that the earth grounding conductor needs to be connected at one location. Which raises a few specific questions that maybe you guys could help with? Should I...

Anyone able to help with this code? It’s not in the manual unles I’ve just overlooked it? Code 70??
  • Post in thread: My flickering LED problem is finally solved

I tried numerous bulbs and returned many to Walmart Amazon etc. But I have found a solution! Or maybe as you said a work around for my 6500’s 2 bulbs worked and they are the WAL-MART Great value 40 watt LED and ONLY THE 40 watt. And any flavor of CFl bulbs worked great!! I may make a...
  • Post in thread: Understanding Overload Bypass (23) on 6500 inverters?

I searched the Forum and did not see any real explanation on what happens AFTER the Overload Bypass occurs. Will it not transfer back to battery after the initial inrush settles down? This to me sounds like something that we would want on? Can someone who uses this feature explain what...

  • Post in thread: Need Advice and opinions!

so I bought my Sp6548 inverters and 400 ah of batteries in August of 2023. And for the most part I have been pleased with them but there are quirks that you guys are well aware of with the voltronics inverters mainly the flickering lights and lack of any support. Etc… When the 6000xp came...
  • Post in thread: EG4 Brightmount question

Not sure where you got 48 bags of concrete from? I have atttached mine to concrete pillars using 6 foot form tubs and each tube took 2 80 pound bags.
  • Post in thread: Can someone tell me how a closed loop communication bms will charge the battery's, SOC or voltage

I have SunGold batteries and if you press enter on the “cell voltage” screen you can see all 16 individual cells voltage on the screen without any additional software you can then scroll through and see if you have a cell that has bad voltage or the like.
  • Post in thread: Error code help?

    Yes
  • Post in thread: Not able to select SOC % back to grid when using closed loop pylon tech

I recently went back to closed loop communication for my sungold batteries and my SP 6548 and even though the option 12 and 13 are presented in SOC% it seems the battery/inverter will not accept any value and returns to 0% on each value. So by default it determines at 14% it returns to grid...
  • Post in thread: Shocked by Shed please help!

Ok so are you referring to earth grounding the panels on the shed?
  • Post in thread: Not able to select SOC % back to grid when using closed loop pylon tech

I used open loop for a long time but my batteries would always discharge at different rates and my state of charge amongst the bank would be all over the map. when I started doing closed loop it discharged very evenly and the state of charge remained more consistent. I’m not going back but...
  • Post in thread: So is 93.7 my max capacity now?

So today my pack #3 showed 100 percent charge but only able to take in 93.7AH I brought it up on PBMS and this is what it showed. Is there anything that can be done to combat this? Or has the battery already lost 6 percent capacity after only 160 charge cycles?

Or is this referring to ground conductors and not “Earth ground”. This is incredibly confusing!!
  • Post in thread: Ordered a few 450 watt sungold panels

I had to wait a few weeks on mine but he price is so good it’s worth the wait sucks they lied but I know when I order that it will be about a month before I see them same issue with the batteries. But the price makes me put up with it no tax no shipping charge hard to beat,
  • Post in thread: BMS HELP

I tried to set up closed loop coms on my SunGold power batteries and although it worked it would only allow my charge controller to output 20 amps to 3 batteries which is way to low. I reached out to SunGold Chinese power and they said I could change it with a program they emailed me called...
