  • Post in thread: Sbu versus sol mppt setting

SOL -grid supplies power if either there is no PV input or battery levels drop below threshold, whereas SBU the grid only supplies power once the batteries have dropped below threshold. So under the SOL setup if batteries are too low you will go over to grid and also at sunset whereas under the...
  • Post in thread: Just got delivery of my 280AH CATL batteries

My order of 16pcs of 3.2v 280AH CATL cells from alibaba just got delivered to me in West Africa - Ghana. I decided to order from Shelly Fang (Shenzhen Jidian Technology Co., Ltd). Took roughly 3 months. Packaging is very good. cells looks to be in very good condition. I checked the individual...
  • Post in thread: Just got delivery of my 280AH CATL batteries

Yeah. Everything is working now after carefully top balancing my cells again. I'm currently running two banks. One with a jbd and the other with a Daly bms. They both seem to be working okay for now
  • Post in thread: Mixing different LiFePO4 Batteries

I am successfully running power walls of different AH's but the same voltage (48v). I am running 3 power banks. 1.0 48v 280AH grade B, 2.0 48v 280AH grade A and 3.0 48v 160AH grade A off-grid garage on youtube has also been running mixed AH's in parallel. Will Prowse also has videos on...
  • Post in thread: Just got delivery of my 280AH CATL batteries

you are sooo right. sorry for my bad choice of words. it did actually work. I meant to say it was very slow. I thought about the last option but unfortunately I do not have an 8S BMS and didnt want to wait for another 3 months for it to be delivered. would definitely be getting one with my...
  • Post in thread: Issue with Growatt SPF 5000 ES

Voltage ranges between 138vDC to 148vDc so no i doubt its the voltage Hahahahahahah . . . . . Sorry I meant to type September of this year.
  • Post in thread: LifePO4 Pack for EV Car Charging

I am planning on building a lithium battery pack with LifePO4 cells. this pack when fully charged by my solar panels would then be used to charge my chevrolet volt. the ev charger is rated 16A 240v. Any ideas, advice or suggestions??
  • Post in thread: Anyway to Monitor My BMS Settings Remotely

Oh ok. Unfortunately my ISP doesn't offer port forwarding. I'll try and see if I can do this with TeamViewer
  • Post in thread: Daly/Smart BMS app password

ok I hope this thread is not closed. I tried 123456 and it worked on my 48v 16s daly bms
  • Post in thread: Mixing different LiFePO4 Batteries

    So are you implying I can't mix my 16s 48v Nissan leaf battery banks with a 16s 48v lifepo4
  • Post in thread: Just got delivery of my 280AH CATL batteries

I tried by best to balance them but because I had s relatively small power supply (30v, 5A) it was taking forever so I just charged individually to 3.27, contact in parallel add let sit for a few days. I assembled them three days ago and these are my findings: 1.0 initially there were huge...

Wow!!!! That doesn't seem efficient at all
  • Post in thread: Anyone Has an Idea of a Voltage Display for a DIY Battery Bank

ooh ok. thanks for your swift response. I am planning on putting together a 16S 48v 280Ah. Do you think i should get the 100A or 350 A shunt?
  • Post in thread: Thinking of Designing a Solar Management System

what does your second raspberry pi connected with a serial cable to your inverter run on?
  • Post in thread: Solar Panel Voltage Increase

Can anyone explain to me why the voltages of solar panels increase with low temperature Thank you for reading
  • Post in thread: Issue with Growatt SPF 5000 ES

Ok so here is an update on my setup. I have been running 8S for about 2 days now. I noticed the following: Previously the panels were registering voltage as early as 6am, but now they register voltage as early as 5am The inverter has stopped shutting down in the afternoon @sunshine_eggo was...
  • Post in thread: Issue with Growatt SPF 5000 ES

I can not connect all 12 panels in parallels. If I do so I would go over the voltage limit. Find below the spec sheet for the panel. It is a 375w panel. I think I can only connect 10 of the panels in parallel.
  • Post in thread: Issue with Growatt SPF 5000 ES

    375w panel spec attached above
  • Post in thread: Issue with Growatt SPF 5000 ES

Thanks for your additional advice. Since I do not have any additional CC I would stick with the 8S configuration. Seems to be giving me all the power I need to fully charge the batteries each day.
  • Post in thread: Growatt SPF 3000TL LVM Low Battery Voltage Alarm

I am having the same issues. Were you able to fix this problem?
  • Post in thread: Thinking of Designing a Solar Management System

I have successfully gone off grid. Fortunately i seem to have oversized my system. Batteries are fully charged by 11am. Sun last till 5pm on most days I am thinking of designing an automatic system that would power on my air-conditioning when the batteries are fully charged. Anyone with...
  • Post in thread: Max. PV Input Current for SPF5000TL HVM-P

"but even the desert gets cool at night" hahahahahahaha. The coldest it gets here is 23-24°C. I have about 15m between panels and inverter I contacted Growatt technical and the guy claims 18A but I find it hard to believe. Thanks for your help again
  • Post in thread: Which BMS is best for off site monitoring/control? Simple set up, simple user interface.

Were you able to find a BMS for remote monitoring? I am on the market for suck a BMS. Currently using a 16s 48v 200A Smart Daly Bluetooth BMS.
  • Post in thread: Anyway to Monitor My BMS Settings Remotely

Anyone knows a way I can access or monitor my 16s 48v 200A Smart Daly Bluetooth BMS remotely?
  • Post in thread: Mixing different LiFePO4 Batteries

But each bank has its own bms. Shouldn't the BMS be monitoring these voltage ranges?

Great. Thanks. Would be patiently waiting.....
  • Post in thread: Issue with Growatt SPF 5000 ES

@sunshine_eggo I just realized that when I am on battery say 52v and I turn on my iron, load consumption rises to about 2400 watts, the inverter quickly draws power from grid and stops discharging from the batteries. When I am done ironing and turn it off, after a few seconds it turns back to...
  • Post in thread: LifePO4 Pack for EV Car Charging

Ooh ok. nice. I am yet to receive my cells. did you do anything to the cells (balancing etc.) before connecting toy our inverter?
  • Post in thread: Issue with Growatt SPF 5000 ES

WOW!! that's crazy since mine starts generating way lower than 150v. see below. With my 4S3P i hardly hit 150v. Maybe its because the 3rd string is of a mismatch panel. So I had 2 strings with 42.15Voc and the last string with 38.86Voc. I think the reason why I did the 4S3S was because I read...
