I am looking for some guidance on a automatic generator starter as backup. I am currently building a pole barn and small cabin in a remote location back in Ohio but now live in SC. I need to have a backup to my solar (1500 watt solar and 5.2kwh server rack battery). I came across a stand alone...
I am sure this has been answered a million times here but the more I read the more confusing this topic gets. I have and EG4 3000 SCC with plans on going straight to at 70amp distribution box. So what do I ground? My current plan was to ground the inverters chassis to earth ground and don't...
Good afternoon folks! I have 12 445 panels 6S2P into a new EG4 3000 SCC. Finally “flipped the switch”. 2 EG4 LL batteries at 72% charge. Array is facing 190° with 20° pitch (not ideal but that’s what my 4:12 roof provides. Beautiful 80° day with no clouds. Wattage ramped up in early morning...
I recently purchased the new EG4 Inverter. I talked to Signature Solar and reviewed my array. I have 12 445w panels and want to have the in 4S3P. While I could have 2-6s strings I will be challenged by some shading so I felt best to have 3 strings. Anyway, they told me I cannot exceed 18...
I was an earlier adopter of EGO power equipment and have quite a collection of tools and batteries. About a two years ago I had my first failed battery. Being that they are not serviceable I just ordered a new one. Bored one day I tore down the bad battery and found one cell less than 1V...
my system is remote and I monitor the display with a camera. It’s been sub-freezing for over a week in Ohio. The display shows that it is still charging the batteries which scares me but looks to me the batteries are still draining so my guess is that the display is saying it’s sending current...
6S2P. Both strings will be fused. I’d like to combine strings in a small conduit box between strings on the roof. The combiner MC4’s are bulky. Any reason I should not simply solder and tape inside the box then bring the parallel pair into the cabin and the DC breaker?
System is about complete less grounding. Being that it’s a roof mount array on a metal building need I use insulated ground wire. Obviously if I use bare it will touch the roof somewhere.
