Last December I placed an order for 32 445w solar panels, 2 Growatt inverters and 4 500 watt/hour LiPO4 batteries. The order changed a bit over the next 3 or 4 months. The make and number of panels changed to 36 Canadian Solar bifacial 445w solar panels. The inverters changed to 2 MPP LVX6048WP...
The panels are all mounted! In these pictures I'm trying out the hydraulics. Fully extended, the array is at about 14 degrees off vertical.
I trenched and laid in about 120 feet of 8 conductor 12 awg teck cable yesterday.
I'll focus on finishing all the outside wiring before things turn cold.
Hi,
Error code F32 is a strange problem. My parallel inverters ran well from October through to January. They started tripping out occasionally in mid afternoon on error code F72. In early March they started tripping every day at around the same time. The weather was very cold with clear...
Hi guys,
I have two LVX6048WP and had a problem with one of them from last October until today. Not the same fault as you are having. It was slow going but MPP service in Taiwan kept sending boards until we got to the remote board which solved the problem. It was slow going but they kept at it...
The AC input connections on the LVX6048WP are bidirectional. I'm using it to feed into my grid tied AC panels when there is pv or enough stored battery power and it provides idling current for the inverter at night if the batteries hit low cut off. It can also charge the batteries but I have...
Hi,
I ended up burning out a mosfet on the main board of the newer inverter. 2nd one from the bottom.
The battery input is on the bottom of the board and PV is at the top so I'm guessing it was related to battery supplied power.
Hard to tell what the sequence of events were that caused the...
Sounds right to me.
I missed terminating the Emporia blue wire to neutral when I reinstalled mine. ( I don't like the jack's on the Emporia. Also, I ended up skipping every second input on the unit because I thought there was some signal interference.
The only other thing that I can think of...
Sorry for the late reply. The concrete blocks are 2.5x2.5x5 feet. Approximately 4000 lbs.
I was able to mount all 36 panels on it with room for about 4 more on the ends.
Last fall one of my welds let go on an outside lever on a windy day and the table folded up damaging two of the panels. (I'm...
I'm off the books at the moment and have the output throttled back to 1000 watts. One of my inverters is out of service, so I'm playing around with different configurations. Trying to become more familiar with the settings.
I think that the SolarPower ap threw a curve at me. There are settings...
Hi,
I live at 54 degrees latitude.
My system will be 120/240 volts provided by parallel MPP LV6548 inverters.
I've purchased 32 x 445w Seraphim panels and plan to string them 2p4s on each of the 4 inverter mppt.
The area where I'm installing the panels has no shade.
My question is this:
Should I...
The strongbacks are made of 6" x 13' 3" heavy galvanized steel framing studs. I welded two together into an i-beam configuration.
I agree with you about not shading the backsides if possible. I compromised a little for cost. I found a person selling all the studs online for a good price.
In...
Hi @YotaPower ,
Your experiences with the Solar Power Store, the LVX6048WP and MPP are discouraging. I'm on the same path that you went down. At the moment I'm waiting for another waranty replacement board from MPP.
I was talking about the devices in the combiner box. The arresters are...
Thanks! I think I'll face them all south.
Great site, it shows the big drop off in winter kw.
It's a good thing we're connected to the grid. We would be cold and in the dark for 4 months of the year with the system we're buying.
How about using self tapping screws and a washer. Screw goes through the washer, then screw into the z purlin from above (and between) the solar panels. Substitute the washer for whatever you think works best.
What gauge Z purlins are you using? I may give it a try, so let me know what works for...
I contacted MPP in Taiwan and they helped me work through the problem.
Error code F32, in this case, was caused by two power transistors that were damaged on the main board. MPP service sent me a details on how to check the transistors, IGBTs and diodes and what the readings on each should be...
There was a large load and it may have been running off battery but the load didn't shut off before the inverter tripped. I had to open the dryer door and shut the stove element off before I could restart the inverters.
The firmware is 1.48 and 14.22. It works on the older and newer versions of the LVX 6048WP. Too large to upload to this forum. Let me know if you want it and send you a link.
I found the cause of error code F81 on my inverter. The small PCB at bottom left with the two RJ45 connecters and two sets of 4 wires had burn marks on the diode where the power connector plugs in. (D10)
I swapped in the board from the second inverter to test and the inverter runs okay with the...
I purchased 2 LVX6048WP last year and began starting them up in October. One of the inverters developed a problem within a few weeks, the other inverter has run without trouble, in off- grid mode and then in grid tied mode.
There is a difference between the two inverters that I didn't know about...
That's right. Check out David Poz and Will Prouse on YouTube. They put out some very good videos on the Growatt SPF 5000 es.
I just purchased a system today based roughly on David Poz's build.
That would make it quick and easy to adjust the tilt. Good idea!
What kind of brackets did you use to attach the solar panels to the table unistrut?
4 brackets per panel good enough?
That's great Michael!
Your design would allow us to tilt down to the steep angle that would work best in mid winter. It looks strong. I'd be confident it could handle the winds. I know it would be easy to add actuators to it if I want to automatically or remotely adjust the tilt or direction...
I'd like to price out some z and c purlins for a ground mount. Similar to the material engineer 775 uses.
Does anyone know what gauge material they use on their panel platforms and ground posts?
