Update, contacted the seller, they are taking the non UL listed back and they sent the other UL listed today.

Update, the new UL listed one arrived, got it installed, see picture below, emailed them to get the password for the Victron config, they answered right away, they even offered support for future questions, it’s nice to have sellers out there that are this good, name of the company is: Solar...

Yes it was an amazon vendor, they are Victron Authorized as per the Victron website, they have their own shop, they do commercial, residential and RV here in the US, I’m sure this is just a mishap, yes I ordered both at the same time, but after I placed the order he contacted me right away and...

Just ordered the Victron Energy SmartShunt 500 amp Battery Monitor (Bluetooth), it’ll be here tomorrow morning.
  • Post in thread: Solar for two refrigerators and a freezer chest.

Ok, so I got 4 12volt 200ah 200bms LifePo4 batteries, will connect them in series for 48 volts and will use 10 12 volts 200 watt solar panels, connected in two strings of 5 in series then those two in parallel coming into the 150volt max charger controller, by the panels specs calculations on an...
  • Post in thread: Solar for two refrigerators and a freezer chest.

From the description 【Capacity Expansion & Wild Application】Ampere Time LiFePO4 Battery can be connected in parallels and in series for larger capacity (Max 800Ah ) and higher voltage (24V, 36V, 48V). Max Connection in series: Up to 4 identical batteries for up to 48V and a load of 10240W...

Thank you, don’t feel comfortable sharing the name, as of yet, I want to be fair, and wait for the outcome of this situation first. If I was the vendor, I think it would be fair to get the opportunity to correct an issue that could have been created by an honest mistake before someone...

Nothing is bypassed, all is after the Shunt.
  • Post in thread: LifePo4 charger controller

    Thanks for the info.

I was not aware you could get a non UL listed model in the US, so technically speaking I did order UL listed ones if there are sold to be installed here in US, specially if they are going to be grid tied. I sent the vendor an email, but it was after hours, hopefully he gets back to me tomorrow...
  • Post in thread: Some Lynx distributor lights coming on.

Sorry for the late response, I have not look into it yet, still works good, not popping fuses, just the lights coming on. Been distracted with other project, I will eventually get back to it and find out.

Using a EPEVER 60A 150V with an MT-50 remote monitoring, I`m charging and balancing the batteries as per the owner`s manual provided with them before putting them into service, I`m using a PV Combiner box (with fuses and a breaker) to connect the solar panels, also fuses or breaker, (haven`t...

Update, ready for this? Finally got a replacement battery today, a different brand since they rebranded, and a bit smaller, (had to make a longer jumper), not a deal breaker, after putting everything together, another battery started acting up the same way as the previous one, this one going...

any particular 48 volt pure sine wave inverter 120volt out, you recommend with at least 3000 watts? Don’t see many choices out there or what do you think about the hybrid Growatt?
  • Post in thread: Solar for two refrigerators and a freezer chest.

Yes, I have a 25W 30 Ohm resistor, thanks, I read somewhere that grounding the negative post of the battery bank to earth ground is beneficial, since it will help protect the BMS boards in te LifePo4 batteries, what do you think about that?
  • Post in thread: Batteries drained!!!

Well, think I found a clue to my issues, I was in the garage this morning and I heard a long beep coming from the inverter, guess what? It’s shutting off due to over voltage, (inverter specs are 60 volts over voltage protection), it suddenly comes back on, all this within a matter of one...

Epever termination charge, once it shows 100% it goes down to a lower amperage charging, a t it’s 56.29 volts check this pic. And the Shunt shows 100% at 53.52 volts I did take these pics at different times of the day however.
  • Post in thread: Batteries drained!!!

You might be right, I’ll wait and see what amperetime says, meanwhile I have things running with the grid, don’t want to damage the refrigerators with all the intermittent shutting off and on every few minutes. Thanks for the fast replies and for patiently keeping up with a newbie here.
  • Post in thread: Batteries drained!!!

Ok, it’s been a few interesting days, did an audit to the 2 fridges and the freezer chest for about 90 hours, all 3 came down to a combine use of 124 watt hours, also had a brand new mini split a/c that when is on and cooling it draws 6 amps, but when it has cooled the room down it goes down to...

  • Post in thread: Some Lynx distributor lights coming on.

Ok, here we go, hope everyone is doing well. has anyone experienced some of the lights in the Victron Lynx distributor coming on with a moderate load? It happens when the well pump comes on, I have a split-phase setup, the AC load is about 850 watts per line, nothing major, the lights that come...

    Absolutely
  • Post in thread: Solar panels distance from house question.

Hello everyone, hope all is well, I’m in the process of choosing a location to install the solar panels for a small project, it’s a total of 10 12 volt 200 watt panels, 2 strings of 5 in series to a combiner box, they will not go on the roof, the ideal distance I would like to have them at is...
  • Post in thread: Batteries drained!!!

I guess since the Shunt just monitors it’ll show 100% over the set 52.8 and the Epever will continue to boost charge until the 56.00 volts, it’ll actually reconnect the boost feature at the 52.8 volt 100% SOC entered on the Shunt, but, leaving aside the Epever numbers, as long as I’m within the...
  • Post in thread: Solar for two refrigerators and a freezer chest.

Hi, new here, I`m trying to come up with a decent package to run my Two refrigerators and a Freezer chest. One of the refrigerators pretty new not even a year-old, runs at 5 amps 120v (that`s on the door decal), that gives about 600watts. The other refrigerator is about 15 years old, NO STICKER...

  • Post in thread: Batteries drained!!!

Here, I’m looking at the numbers under the battery emblem on the monitor (last pic), as you can see it shows 53.4 volts, amps are low at 8, it’s very cloudy right now. But when it’s not cloudy the amps go way up but the voltage stays around the 53 mark., sorry, the site double posted when I went...
