    I believe in minimizing storage and using electricity as it is generated. For the grid too, rather than grid-scale storage.
    Variable frequency drives on pumps, A/C, etc. could adjust their consumption to whatever surplus is being generated.
    I think I saw a problem with VFD on my 2 HP pool pump causing 10000TLUS to throw an error. Might need a choke.
    Your transformerless Sunny Boy might do the same.

    I definitely need to do more reading. I have 1050Ah and 18kW of PV. I briefly read the section on the relays within the SI; I'll definitely have to read more about it.

    Can you elaborate on the reason for load shedding? I thought it will charge batts from AC2 (grid) if it's available? And if the batts are low and it's nighttime/overcast/whatever, it will pull from AC2 into AC1 (local grid/"island").

    So are you saying with AC Coupling if the batts get low, the SI will simply shut down even if the grid is available on AC2?
