Today its 86 degrees here in Post Oregon. My 3.65kw of panels have been running a 12k mini split, 5k window A/C two 50” TVs, Xbox, satellite system, Starlink, 20cf refrigerator, 7cf refrigerator, 5cf chest freezer and a box fan.
pretty impressive if I say so. And I’m buying 10 more panels next...
When placing the container do not lay it directly on the ground. Block it up about 6” so air can get under it. Where I use to work they just put them on the ground and a few of the floors rotted out.
Update from Magnum to me.
Today I got an email back from Magnum Energy after months of un answered emails and calls. I never expected a replay at this point. They have offered to replace my broken (non charging) 4448PAE under warranty. They explained that they don’t have a repair facility...
41 deg in the shed and all 6 batteries are charging as the are supposed to.
I’m such an idiot! I’m so worried about another disaster to happen I’m thinking strait.
Moving off grid and building an entire homestead from scratch is way more work then I thought.
Problem solved.
Ordered a new regulator, got it swapped then test ran with the same problem. Changed out the fuel line from the regulator to the generator and bang! Runs perfect. Currently charging @95 amps. I haven’t bothered checking voltages and amps from the generator since it seams to...
Not very happy with Magnum right now. I purchased a brand new 2021 MS-4448-PAE from AWS as a prewired kit On a mini Magnum panel. After getting it installed I tested everything and it all worked perfectly. Several weeks later I plugged in my generator to use it to charge my batteries and the...
Knock on wood all the shit I’ve ordered from them is working as expected. Also spent around 12k with them.
Luckily for me the only complaint I have is my batteries didn’t come with the communication cables. I have called a couple times and got the run around. Also luckily for me I really...
I mentioned something in one of my posts about starting my Champion HSG and someone asked me how to do it. I search the internet myself looking for information but could never find anything. I contacted Champion and they sent me this. So I figured I would post it so others can hopefully find it...
Had a couple of hundred degree days back to back. Ended up running the generator for a few hours to top off the batteries. 3.65kw of panels can’t quite keep up running everything 24hours.
Today Solar-electri.com was running a sale. I ended up ordering another Victron 250/60 controller. Also 10...
With your guys help schooling on the electrical side I now believe it’s a fuel issue. While the generator is new the fuel supply components are not. They were left by a previous owner of another off grid property purchase I flipped a year ago or so. They were on an old 14k generator that was...
From Signature Solar I ordered 6 48v 100ah rack batteries along with the rack to hold them. Also the 35 amp charger so I can alway charge from a small generator. From Arizona wind and sun I ordered a magnum MS-4448-pae prewired panel with a Vicrton 250/70 controller. 10 REC N-PEAK 2 Black Series...
For me $80 is nothing compared to what I have wasted. I purchased a $269. Magnum AGS-N and a regular Chargeverter and still have to get the rest of the Magnum BMK to run the AGS-N.
This is what I get for lack of proper research. But again when I purchased the Magnum system Eg4 was just a...
I just bought a big propane generator way less money in the long run I think. Really how long do you plan to weld? Even if all day a few times a month. for example I pay $2.60 a gallon. Burn 4-5 gallons a month? Still going to be way cheaper then a $6k inverter 5k in batteries and $3-4k in panels.
I had a 24v model that was 15 years old that I never had a problem with and knew how to operate it. Got the new one broken day one and have had nothing but problems getting it repaired. It’s been close to a year now.
I was also going to recommend Costco cart batteries. that why I asked what 12v he currently had to see if he had the room. I have a set of them That I removed from my RV that is currently running my container/shop. They are 5 years old and still working. But they are 58lbs each so he may not...
It was a 240v pump. I have since replaced it with two Pentair 120v 3.3gpm diaphragm pumps plumbed in parallel. Very nice setup for an off grid house. Both pumps run at 6.6gpm then when the pressure gets to about 40psi one turns off And the other pumps to 50psi. I have them setup 30/50 with a 30...
Washing and drying my first load of clothes with my new to me front loader stacked set. The Magnum has no problem running both at the same time. So glad o bought these. The washer uses so much less water it’s crazy! The old washer probably used 40 gallons a load. This one maybe 10?
The two...
I based my decision on what I already own. My RV has been setup for a few years now with a small Victron charge controller. I like the way I can Bluetooth my phone to it and already know how to use the app. The inverter was based off of I also already own a MS-4024-PAE installed in a home I...
This has to be it. I was a propane licensed forklift tech for 12 years. Nowhere in the manuals of the new lift trucks did it say anything about breaking in a new propane lift on gas first. Just to change out the break in oil in 200 to 250 hours. I didn’t work on to many new ones, I always got...
Well I didn’t think it would ever happen but Magnum has started an RMA for replacement of my faulty unit. But! It may take 3 more months. Luckily I found a spare that I’m using now.
You are correct there are differences. Non ground contact meant for your sil plates and general outdoor deck construction where posts will stand on pier blocks. Ground contact where it is to come in contact with bare earth. Like 4x4 posts.
Where I use to work I would build and install what...
I’m pretty much out of wall space in my utility‘s shed. I have the inverter on a breaker panel and a sub panel along with one charge controller soon to be two. 800 lbs of batteries and rack along with pumps, plumbing and a 500 gallon cistern tank. All in a 8x8 insulated shed. One wall is...
I just purchased a pallet of REC 365w panels. They didn’t have them in stock at the Bend Oregon location so I had to drive to Milwaukee Oregon. No big deal for me. Saved me a ton of money in shipping.
I replaced my 4 6v in my RV with a single 300ah Chins. Well worth it.
until I got my 48v setup I was running my off grid tiny home with the Chins for Months.
I would steer clear of Magnum if you can even find one. they are no longer currently making them and parts are nonexistent. I spent a week calling all over the US looking for a A/C input board for mine.
Magnum no longer answers their phone or emails. Rumors they are out of business rumors they...
I have the same problem with two of my six batteries. I have them in the 6 battery rack as it comes from Signature Solar Both bars facing up. Battery 1 and battery 3 from the top down are always one light lower on the SOC meter then the other 4 after a few days of discharging. Once the sun comes...
I urge anyone ordering anything of value. Inspect the delivery before sighing any paperwork.
I even had the driver helping me unpacking solar panels. He had no problem with it and understood.
Technically you have a generator. It’s not very efficient but would work in a pinch since you run a 12v system. Jumper cables and a Dodge.
Back in the day when I built my very first system in a 1973 Dodge class C. I used a 8d battery I got for free out of a friends boat. Mounted some real cheap...
I figure I may as well tell everyone how I managed to kill 2 BMS’s. I was working inside my Magnum mini panel moving and replacing some grounds and upgrading wire sizes. I was being lazy and didn’t want to shut the whole system down as the sun was out and was charging good. Big Mistake!
Ended...
my SS pallet was shipped to a dock also. They let me unpalletize the whole shipment right on there dock and load it all in my trailer by hand inspecting every box before I sighed. I did the same with my inverter from another seller Shipped by a different shipper.
I have six Lifepower4 batteries and 3.65kw panels right now. I run a lot of stuff off them. When the sun is out I have no problem running 12k mini split two refrigerators a small chest freezer two 50+ inch TVs dish system two Xbox‘s water pumps lights microwave and I have probably missed a few...
You
You are a genius!
I am going to separate my shower from my septic system and have it fill a 50 gallon tank under my house. then I am going to instal a pressure demand pump to fill just the toilet and a overflow from the tank back to the septic system.
I have been speaking with Eg4 Jarrett in the background. He has explained to me why the person I was speaking with wanted more pictures of the second battery. I feel it’s all just communication errors. Some stuff just cannot be conveyed in texts or emails. Sometimes you just need to speak to...
Mine is a 4448 but I’m going to thro a Kill O watt on the kitchen wall and watch it for the poops and giggles.
So far the only stuff that don’t like the inverter is my clothes washer and poop box cheep chest freezer.
