My power company has a really nice chart system for usage. 12-2pm was laundry time so most of that is dryer and electric hot water heater. 6-8pm is shower/bath time for my wife and 2 kids last night. I could probably halve my electricity use by replacing those both with high efficiency units.

Wow! How long did it take to dry on that setting? Also, with discounts, Lowes has this machine right now for under 2k! Might be buying sooner than I thought!

Hmmm ok. A neighbor with the same amount of children as me said his gas bill was around 50 a month in the summer. Comparably, mine is 8.50, the minimum charge to have gas service.

Thats pretty impressive! My dryer is old and rated at 28 amps. I think it uses 2500-3000watts and since it's old, sometimes I have to run it more than once.

Is it worth being on grid backfeed and net metering?
