  • Post in thread: Water repellent coating for solar panels

Wow, that's quite impressive, looks to be very effective - I wonder if any solar panels are being sold with that coating on? They should also use that technology on the inside of my Tomato Ketchup bottle, I can never get the last bit out. John

  • Post in thread: Water repellent coating for solar panels

Hi luisenriquereyes I use a product sold in the UK called RainX, it's essentially isopropyl alcohol. It's main use is for car windscreens, but I occasionally clean my solar panels with it. The rain just runs of the panel in beads. But if you have flexible panels don't use it as it can damage...
  • Post in thread: Vraagje over Gegevens e Box BLE

Hi Peter, Thanks for the links, those ones allowed my mobile to connect to the BLE-01. Mine also shows 24v, even though I have a 12v system setup. Please see the attached images. Bedankt voor de links, die lieten mijn mobiel toe om verbinding te maken met de BLE-01. De mijne toont ook 24v, ook...
  • Post in thread: A breakthrough approaches for solar power - BBC

Here is a news item from the BBC about new solar panel technology, I'm sure it may have already been discussed on the forum, but thought you might like to read it anyway. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-51799503
  • Post in thread: Happy Christmas Everyone

What a lovely picture from Australia gnubie, merry Christmas to everyone down under. No snow here in England yet, but here's one from 2017.
  • Post in thread: Water repellent coating for solar panels

Hi Schlagger, I didn't know that RainX made impregnated wipers - great idea. Good question about the type of glass used on our panels, someone out there knows. By the way here's the video the still was taken from:
  • Post in thread: Artistic use of an old battery and charger

Good point, I hadn't thought of that. I think I'm correct in saying that these sparks will generate ozone, maybe that's why you see him wearing a face mask later in the video.
  • Post in thread: Happy Christmas Everyone

Another nice beach sunset, great to see pictures from around the world, thank you Bob and Happy ? Christmas to you as well.
  • Post in thread: Proyecto Espa

Hello Señor Quattro, It takes a lot of guts to up sticks and do what you're doing, so I wish you the very best of luck on your venture in Spain and will be watching this thread to see how it's all going. Best - John
  • Post in thread: Nieuw aangekocht

Hi Peter, something to think about, I seem to recall that you can only plug one device at a time into the network socket on the Epever Solar Controller, so it would either be the MT50 or the BLE-01. The BLE-01 didn't particularly impress me, I had to get the app from their website, managed to...
  • Post in thread: Ireland gets hit by Hurricanes?

Hi svetz, The last big one to hit Ireland was Hurricane Ophelia (Cat3) 16th October 2017, followed a week late by storm 'Brian'. Ophelia also dragged with it tropical air and dust from the Sahara and caused the sun to appear orange and the sky a beige colour - not a good day for solar energy. I...

Wow, cool setup - looks really neat and heavy duty.:)
  • Post in thread: Bosch S5 013, 100 Amp for 20 €

Peteronline I suspect that I have a nice agreement with my Bosch S5 013, 100 Amp Batteries for €20 2 Pieces so €40 Hi Peter, that is super cheap, 100Amp Hours for 20 Euros, you got a good deal there. My 100 Amp hour batteries cost me £180 Hallo Peter, dat is super goedkoop, 100Amp uur voor 20...

Yeah, I would be very pleased with that price as well :) PeterOnLIne The Bargain Finder:)
  • Post in thread: Nieuw aangekocht

Thanks for letting me know about the eLOG01, I'd not seen this device before, it's allowing pass through (so to speak) for the MT50 to still function and connect to a PC. I might give this a try next year as I was never able to successfully connect my PC to the Epever Solar Controller.
  • Post in thread: Vraagje over Gegevens e Box BLE

Thanks Peter, I'll take a look at the video. Bedankt Peter, ik zal de video bekijken. Best - John
  • Post in thread: Vraagje over Gegevens e Box BLE

Hi Peter, they're not quite answering your question, the name Triron is just a branding name and I would not worry about that. However if your Epever Solar Controller is showing 12v, but the BLE-01 is showing 24v, then the BLE is clearly not working correctly, or needs a reset of sorts. I will...
  • Post in thread: Geen Audio op de Witte MT 50

Hi Peter, I've just looked at mine, it does have the option for the alarm, I'm just looking through my instruction book to see if there's is a reason it would not show. I'll get back to you. Hoi Peter, Ik heb net naar de mijne gekeken, het heeft de optie voor het alarm, ik kijk gewoon in mijn...
  • Post in thread: THE WORKING POOR & off the shelf inverters ..

Hello Sir, I must admit, I had to read it several times. I did find it quite amusing and very deep, so you certainly brought some cheer to a very cold morning here in England. I look forward to more of your posts, so keep up the good work.:) Whilst on the topic of Monty Python, I started...

I've never heard of this before, it sounds incredible (if you'll excuse the pun), hopefully one day scientists will crack it.

  • Post in thread: Moded inverter

Hi Ray, You'll not go wrong with Noctua fans, I've used them in many PC builds, I've even replaced the fans in my Synology NAS with Noctua's, my favourite is strapping one to an old weather sensor. I've never had one go faulty and best of all they are quiet.
  • Post in thread: tiny house setup

I just read one of the posts under the link to the Battery University for Health Concerns with Batteries: "my battery was not giving enough power o i was advised to remove the distilled water and pour fresh one in. But by mistake i put in petrol. As soon as i got to know the mistake i poured it...
  • Post in thread: Vraagje over Gegevens e Box BLE

Hi Peter, Thank you for that, I've just synchronized the time, but it would not allow me to adjust the backlight for more than 60 seconds - but that's fine. I might buy that eLOG01 device you mentioned, so that I can have the MT50 and the BLE-01 connected at the same time. Bedankt daarvoor, ik...
  • Post in thread: Happy Christmas Everyone

Nice landscape, have a nice Christmas day from England.
  • Post in thread: Ireland gets hit by Hurricanes?

Hi svetz, I don't know if that was me you're referring to, I did have a signature at the bottom of my posts which showed a live update from my weather station, but I thought it looked a little obtrusive and so I removed it. I'm certainly not a meteorologist, but do have an interest in weather...
  • Post in thread: Proyecto Espa

Take lots of pictures as you go along, they'll be great to look at when you've completed this huge task (and post some here of course). Johnny
  • Post in thread: THE WORKING POOR & off the shelf inverters ..

Hi Fellas, some of your conversation on this thread brought to mind an old pre Monty Python sketch:
