Yeah, i think they replaced the 800w model with a 1000w model.
You can add up to 2 of these panels to your mpp solar unit, add them in parallel to be safe with the voltage ranges, dont wire them in series.
I already explain why you should not go for 48V, larger inverters will have more iddle consumption which is not good. Also, 48V is not a safe voltage, you can get shocked if you don't know what you are doing.
I'm not familiar with those MK units, maybe someone else can help on when you should...
I've read that these are for sensitive appliances if you are worried about load interruptions., it says there is no transfer time between AC-AC and DC-AC mode. Also, they are split phase capable up to 3 phase, and you can connect up to 9 in parallel.
I'm curious about these units as well, maybe...
There are 3 settings for this:
1) Max charging current:
2) Max utility charging:
3) Charge source priority: this is set to utility first, and it wont charge the battery with both utlity and solar, just one at time.
How should i set this?
It was set to 40A max total and 20A max utility...
You definitely need a larger breaker, i think 50A will be good.
If you connect 2 batteries in parallel you will get a 12V battery with double AH, if you connect them in series you will get a 24V battery with same AH
The Mppt will convert the watts to whatever your battery needs, so 600W / 12V...
Recently I was experiencing issues with a 4 months old AGM battery, I've been using the default AGM Battery Type settings for my MPP solar 12v system and after 4 months it only activated the cut off voltage one time, after that the battery seems to be discharging way faster and the low voltage...
Hello @jaffadog, turning the inverter off won't turn the charge controller off, I did turn off the inverter couple days ago because the battery was to low, it was at the very morning without sun, and it started charging the batteries as soon as the sun cames out even that the inverter switch was...
The switch on the unit is to turn on/off the inverter, not the unit itself. After you turn the inverter off, the lcd display will turn itself off in a short time if the solar charger is not being used (no sun).
The lcd will turn on automatically when there is sun to charge your battery.
Thats...
I had the same doubt, this unit comes with Solar Power Balance and you cannot disable it, this is setting 31 on other larger MPP solar units.
You can read what Solar Power balance means on the manual, but in short terms, the solar panels will give you only the Watts you need to keep the...
It depends on your needs, how many whats will you be using out of it, they usually recommend the 3Kva unit that is 24V and you need to make sure that the unit says 220-240Vac
This is normal: if you check your screen display when the battery is about to full charge, it will go to max bulk charge voltage very fast (should be like 14.1-14.5V depending on unit settings), then it will drop to float charge voltage which is usually 13.5V, it is normal that the screen will...
Hi @Affordable Solarguy i will buy a breaker for solar panels to controller, i just dont know which is the corrrect one, it is pretty confusing, they come in diferent amps and volts, this controller is 40A, Do you know which braker should i buy for it?.
Also, i killed the AGM, 100% DOD ftl, it...
Batteries self-discharge may vary depending on manufacturer or battery type, I think AGM is about 1% to 3% every month, you should check the batteries voltage with a multimeter.
I don't think those batteries will be in good shape though.
New batteries will come charged, at 12.x voltage, dont know what is the specific voltage but i soppose that depend on battery type.
An AGM battery its completely dischared at 10.5V so be carefull if you dont know what you are doing or you will ruin your batteries, i discharged my AGM battery...
For lifepo4 cells ill suggest you this dealer from alibaba, lot of people here are buying the 280Ah cells for DIY batteries, they have 105Ah cells as well, dont forget to tell them you came from DiySolarPowerForum.
For BMS you should go for the ones people already tested and proved to work...
Sometimes it is hard to search for a specific topic, there are multiple subforums so you have to be patient while searching.
Check this recent thread, someone asked if he should "upgrade" from 12V to 24v or 48V systems, higher voltage system doesn't mean to be better, it depends on your needs.
Thx for your reply @kernel Unfortunately i dont have the tools to do these tests, ill attach the spec sheet to see if you can help mw with the settings, i dont know which settings should i have based on the specs.
Do you have any way yo charge your batteries? AGM batteries should not be left discharged for long periods and 3 years is a lot, also be careful not to overcharge them.
They are originally from Taiwan, but I think they have a dealer in the USA. Easier to return for warranty if you are there.
I have a 12V unit, a lot of people are using these units worldwide.
