I got coms working so I'm in closed loop now. Batteries are happy. Pulling 9k.
  • Post in thread: Neighboring off-grid homes

I think I will. A little sticker shock on 2 inch though. 600ft is over 2 grand doing a quick google search.
  • Post in thread: EG4-LL-v2 slow charging

    I do not.
  • Post in thread: Grundfos 5hp

I wanted to look up the 3hp system and check the surge on that one but Grundfos site is down for maintenance. The residential victron system only surges to 20k. That seems like I'm in the wrong league with the 5hp pump. The victron industrial set would do it but that's 10,000$ before batteries...
  • Post in thread: EG4-LL-v2 slow charging

I have 5 new EG4LLv2's connected to a solark 15K with 28 400w panels. The system has only been online a few weeks and its on an off grid property about an hour from my home. We've hade some really cloudy days this week and the propane tank hasnt been delivered for the 14K Champion Generator yet...
  • Post in thread: Neighboring off-grid homes

Good morning, My Uncle and I are both building off grid homes roughly 600 ft apart. We haven't started on our solar yet but we do have a SQflex11 well going in today that will have it's own solar system. We've decided to do 2 separate solar systems for our homes for resell ability, voltage drop...
  • Post in thread: Sol-Ark, EG4 Communications Hub/LifePower4 - Solar Assistant configuration

I have 5 LL v'2 and I'm regretting it more and more every day. The screens wake up ridiculously slow. I guess the extra warranty will be nice. I will mess around with them this weekend when I get back over to the property but I think I already know the answer. If I have battery 1 speaking...
  • Post in thread: Solark smart load

I have a Sol-ark 15k set up for off grid with 5 eg4 ll's and a 14Kw generator. We have a LP water heater and an electric in front of it. I have it set to kick on at 95% and off at 90. 6000w solar. My problem is it kicks on when they reach 95 and completely ignores the solar requirement. At 3 am...
  • Post in thread: Charging 6 eg4 server rack batteries

Thanks, so if I charge at the 40 Amp rate per battery(30 is recommended but 100 is max) were talking less than 2.5 hours run time right? 1.8 if I only let them goto 20%?

  • Post in thread: EG4-LL-v2 slow charging

Currently, it's running open loop so the inverter only knows I have 500ah. I'll try opening breakers tomorrow and report back. Thanks.
  • Post in thread: Neighboring off-grid homes

That isn't a bad idea. It would defiantly give us options. I'm starting to reconsider if the well even needs it's own system or if 800$ in wire from 1 house or the other would be a better option. The voltage drop isn't that bad on 10 awg 240. At least not for a well with as wide of a useable...
  • Post in thread: Closed Loop Comms between Sol-Ark 15k and EG4 LL batteries

Curious, What is your max charge you are seeing going into your batteries in open loop? when I first set up my system in open loop I couldn't get the EG4 LL v2's to take more than 18amps per battery no matter how I set the inverter. as soon as I set up closed loop, I could get the full rate...
  • Post in thread: Hidden Sol-ark settings in solar Assistant

I just got a hotspot out at the property so I can finally poke around in SA from my couch. The settings in the solark 15k itself doesn't have the option to stop the generator without getting all complicated with you settings. I stumbled across this just now. I have it set to 30% on and 41% off...
  • Post in thread: Hidden Sol-ark settings in solar Assistant

That's awesome! I have a conductor run to the house for smart load but haven't connected it yet. (Electric WH) if I change the auxiliary to load in SA do I get those menus but then loose the start stop settings?
  • Post in thread: Sol-Ark 15K Smart load

Myles, how did that experiment go? The flickering when running the generator drives me nuts. Id consider buying a chargeverter if that worked out well for you. I'm trying to sort out a problem with my smartload now. We haven't seen the sun in a while so I'm running the generator occasionally. I...
  • Post in thread: Grundfos 5hp

Hey guys, Just had our well drilled to supply 2 homes and we hit 45gpm @ 280ft! So happy. We're both looking to go off grid solar and are trying to figure out the well pump now. I've been quoted a few different pumps. The sqflex 11gpm isn't really ideal for supplying both homes so I'm...
  • Post in thread: Why did my Solark 15k just start my generator?

I was able to shut it down from my main home 1 hour away (the sun is about to come up) but I don't understand why it started. I don't believe it is a maintenance cycle. I think I may have some conflicting settings the way the spikes are taking place. I'm not completely certain what the settings...
  • Post in thread: Charging 6 eg4 server rack batteries

Good eye, I guess my eyes got crossed looking at all the numbers. Given that I feel better about the overhead on those hot days when the sun is out and we want to run the ac. That being said, on the winter days I would still need to limit the charger output to something similar to what your...
  • Post in thread: Solark smart load

Ok. I assumed sense I had generator coming in on grid lug, that ment on grid. It's all very confusing when solark considers grid to mean generator (as in, grid charge settings) and grid to only mean grid as is this case. Anyway, thanks for clearing that up.
  • Post in thread: Smart Load settings for Sol-Ark

According to Sol_ark tech, that's actually not correct information. The SOLAR POWER setting doesn't do anything on smartload. Apparently its for some other use of the gen terminal. I'm writing a letter to Solark now to try and get that changed as Smart Load is brilliant for sunny days but it's...
  • Post in thread: Neighboring off-grid homes

We both are planning 220 systems so I don't think the line loss would be terrible, I just don't know if there would be anything to gain or if it's even possible. One senerio would be if 1 family were using less power than the other. Say my batteries were full and my panels were still producing...
  • Post in thread: EG4 LL series and bmstools

I've been having trouble connecting to mine as well with the cable that came with the batteries. (Should I have received more that 1 cable? I have 5 batteries.) I was able to get one to connect but then it cycles online, offline, online, offline. I believe that was on the rs485 port. Works great...
  • Post in thread: EG4-LL-v2 slow charging

Turned off all but one battery (with breakers) it's not the inverter because the one remaining battery still only charges at 15 amp. I'm having trouble connecting with bms tools. I got it to connect but it cycles on and offline. I was able to get a good enough connection for a photo.
  • Post in thread: Charging 6 eg4 server rack batteries

Yes, the eg4 videos. Sorry I wasn't more specific, I can see how this post could age out of sync with his current system very quickly. I'm planning to use 2 eg4 6500s split phase (220v). The manuals for the batteries say they can take 100amp charge but they recommend 30A. I don't intend to run...
  • Post in thread: Charging 6 eg4 server rack batteries

Driving a diesel truck 1 hour to work every day, I couldn't see past the pain in my wallet. I'll have to weigh it out. I was under the impression propane was currently less expensive in bulk.
  • Post in thread: Pv pro and solark data useage

I'm looking for the cheapest possible 4g router / data only sim card combination possible but I need to figure out how much data I will require to use solar Assistant, pv pro, and whatever updates the solark may decide to pull. It's an off grid property about an hour away. I can probably do the...
  • Post in thread: Solar assistant and Grafana

Does anyone know if there is a way to include my SA data into a grafana dashboard without using HA? I know little to nothing about Grafana but would like to setup my own dashboard that looks different than the standard SA.
  • Post in thread: Pv pro and solark data useage

I just signed up for the t mobile test drive. Free for a month and they send you a router. I also picked up a tello sim card for 2$. So it looks like I should be able to monitor the system for 2$ in hardware and 6$ a month in data if the sim works.
  • Post in thread: Canadian Solar 390W V.S. Canadian Solar 390W

TL:DR What makes the HIKuBLACK double the halfcell bifacial? So I'm narrowing in on what I want out of a panel. 390W seems to be a sweet spot for now when you consider I'm building a ground mount. (Weight per panel, cost of mounting lots of little panels vs big ones, wire on and on... ) I...
