I made these for my own reference to build my very first solar setup & I'm putting it here because I've gotten a lot out of this Beginners Corner. I'm no expert, don't know much, still trying to learn and have no experience so use it at your own risk.
Plus if any of the math is totally wrong...
Just throwing this out here to see what others, if they want to, can come up with using $1800 I'm spending on my 400w build. Should be new and off the shelf for a novice like me, and no fancy bms self build stuff. My peak sun is 3.5 hrs and my daily usage will be around 900ish watt hours total...
Anyone own a Titan solar generator? What has been the experience so far?
Thinking of getting 2x Titan each with 2k solar panels for a permanent off grid cabin in ID. Looks like a simple quick solution.
Are my wiring & fuses correct? Where & what size fuse would I use from the 2000w inverter to my batteries?
After some advice from smart people here, I am looking into a 24V system now. My needs are running 1x 15 Macbook Pro for 10-11hrs everyday & maybe a 15w LED for few hours. I am in NE PA...
I've decided to start with a 400w 12v system first before going on to buy and build an 800w 24v setup. I will just buy battleborns & won't even to there to build my own battery. Thanks to all for helping me out much appreciated. (Bob142, tactag, Lost In The Desert, DanHitch, Supervstech, Woggs1...
Do I need to ground the 400w panels , SCC & battery?
Here's my final setup. I'm just going to follow Will's specific advice on my particular 400w setup. I've found charts differ, pros definitely differ, which was confusing initially. I went with the 50a circuit breaker & over guage my wires &...
Besides cost, which is better 24v or 12v for my new 800w system? Im gonna build one of these. I don't need 12v dc and I have never used or build a 24v setup before.
Was looking to buy their generators but David from zeropoint said they are building a Titan with LifePo4. Anyone else own one and whats the experience so far?
Which charges better for a 3 hour timeframe?
Correction these should be 600w in Serie+Parallel & 600w in Series only. I realize that Victron does not support 8 panels.
What is the correct order?
This is what I gather from one of Will's video:
1. Connect both positive & negative cables to inverter terminals FIRST
2. Connect inverter negative to battery negative
3. Connect inverter positive (spark) with fuse to battery positive
4. Then connect SCC (does it...

Will's favorite SCC EPEVER MPPT does not support 60A at least I couldn't find one, & he said the Victron has small bad input terminals, and the others were plasticky, does anyone have any other recommendation?
WP is right 400w is the best setup. I want to get this down perfect, safe, and just recreate the same 400w for more power. I am reading up about grounding, now I wonder if panel, SCC, battery, inverter isolation is necessary for 400w. And what to do?

Building a new 12v 800w setup, can't decide on Rich or Renogy.
