I came to the conclusion that using the voltage detector would be a better option than using the dry contacts, that way I have better control on when the dump load is triggered.
Does anyone knows how the dry contact works on LV6548 or 6500EX. The manual says that it is 250VAC 3A. I dont know what this means, is this 250VAC supplied voltage by the dry contacts or do I need to supply the voltage to it from another source, for example the inverter output?
Can I run a...

I found this online for Preditor generator, this will allow you to start the generator remotely, but I dont know how you will auto start it.
MPP LV6548 does not seem to heave the same issues as EG4 version. They are all made by Voltronics but they have differences in software, and possibly hardware.
are you able to see historical data log using the mobile app for either watchpower, Energy Mate, SmartESS? All of them feed off the wifi logger or wifi device.
In case you have a problem connecting with USB/RS232 to watchpower. It has to be with with FTDI Chipset like this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0759HSLP1?th=1
MPP Solar just released a new wifit monitoring application called Energy Mate APP. Does anyone have experience using it compared to WatchPower?

I am testing it on my LV6548 and it seems to work fine but it it does not to refresh...
Thanks for the clarification. I just got mine in preperatin for my solar system ( Sept 2022 production ). How long have you had your LV6548 and what is your experience with it so far.
Based on the online information on both MPPT Solar website and youtube, the firmware update seems to only address the issue of non-inverter type generator, so if you are not running this type of generators as a backup, then no update is needed.
My plan is to use voltage detector like this, set it up to trigger the NO contacts when the batteries are full, then will connect these contacts to a mechanical power replay AZ2280 to provide power to the water heater.

This setup is better than using the...
Thanks for the information. I checked and it looks like 5S will go up to 257V at the coldest temperature in record in my location . Not sure if 7 volts above limit is a big problem or not.
I just spoke to Ian from Watt247 and he recommended that I dont worry about the Isc limitation as long as the arrays stay within the 250Voc and total power of 4KW per MPPT. He said the unit will limit itself to the amount of current it can handle. In this case I can wire the panels 3S2P with...

Thanks for the feedback. What is the name of your channel?
MPP solar has a new version LV6548V which has 390V PV input. I have seen someone review them on youtube, they seem to have higher ldle consumption with more fan noise as well.
The one I bought is the regular LV with 250V Max PV, which...
My system is not installed yet, so I have not gone that far in the calculations to see how much extra power I will have from the panels. I think you can control this by programming the voltage detector to turn on for a certain hours of the day. there are some videos on YouTube about how to do...
I am looking for feedback on what settings to use for LV6548 inverter connected to a single Pytes Ebox 4800R. Based on what I receieved from Pytes, option 5 should be set to LIB and no other settings should be done when using the communication cable. But I see some videos online setting this...
to answer the question about the load, I am not planning on running the load through the voltage detector, that is why I am using a Power relay so the load is running through it and not running through the voltage detector
From what I have seen online, the most failures in solar systems and cause of fires is due to mixing MC4 connectors brands. If you have canadian solar panels, you need to get the T4 connectors for the ends that connects to the panels. You can search online for the part number for T4-PC-1. I...
In mine I am able to change the parameters. Note, if you have already setup the wifi with Watchpower, you have to use the same login to access Energymate. you can also email mppsolar support about that.
I am going through the same thoughts as others about combining panels, I have LV6548 + 6 x 545W canadian solar. VOC is 49.4, ISC is 13.95.
If I configure them as 3S2P it will go over the ISC, and if they all 6S it will go over the voltage.
Any ideas on which way to go? or would be safer to use...
Thanks for the idea about the voltage detector.
I was going to either use the power supply from the battery ( 48V ) or the inverter output 120V with C and NC contacts to trigger a power relay. S here is what either would look like. I have seen online somone uses DC signal input for the dry contact.
Thanks Zwy for the details. This is very helpful. I actually have not bought the panels yet but I am running into the same senario where they are a very good deal for $/w. As of right now 6 panels can be easily split between the 2 charge controllers for this inverter, which would work fine for...
