Nice! Straight to the point.
My current 24v battery is 70ah, it would take quite a while at 200w from empty but good to know I should avoid using the car - this will probably be last resort.
Question: What is a safe continuous amperage draw from a compact car (2008 Mazda 3) alternator for use with a pure sine wave inverter?
Background: I built a LiFePO4 24V portable solar generator. The battery is connected to a Growatt 24V3KVA. I use the AC Input to recharge the 24V battery when...
With the battery - nothing. The only thing connected but completely switched off was the Growatt 3000w inverter. The alerts I was getting were the standard push notifications from the various iPhone apps. I didn’t have any other alarms set, I think. I was in such a panic that I ran downstairs. ?
I woke up to a series of notifications on my iPhone that one of my cells was over voltage….by 16 volts! I thought I had a severely runaway cell somehow and I was going to have an explosion.
I ran to the garage to check and there was no signs of damage. I launched the app and found the cells...
Forgive me for this trivial question but this may be exactly what I’m looking for without having to mess with Arduino or other interfaces.
Are you simply using this display connected directly to the Overkill BMS?
Also, are you able to view the individual cell voltages?
I bought the overkill...
I’ve been running the 8s 100A since 2020 with great success on a battery used for backup power. I’ve been able to power consistent 2000w loads and even surges up to 4000w (~160A) for things like my clothes dryer at startup. It also charges comfortably at 60A for over an hour.
My only complaint...
