Startled by my Overkill BMS.

I woke up to a series of notifications on my iPhone that one of my cells was over voltage….by 16 volts! I thought I had a severely runaway cell somehow and I was going to have an explosion.

I ran to the garage to check and there was no signs of damage. I launched the app and found the cells normal with no warnings in the history.

My app must’ve glitched.

With the battery - nothing. The only thing connected but completely switched off was the Growatt 3000w inverter. The alerts I was getting were the standard push notifications from the various iPhone apps. I didn’t have any other alarms set, I think. I was in such a panic that I ran downstairs. ?

It’s the app for the Overkill solar BMS. XiaoxiangBMS

Perhaps that is a feature of the iPhone version and the Android version doesn't have it.

No, that number you saw [12] is not the cell count, it’s the alert count. It send 12 alerts by the time I noticed.

One false alarm I could chalk up to gremlins. Twelve alarms is hard to explain away.

that sort of a notification would really get my attention too!

maybe the BMS is broken?

so weird that all the cells show in normal range in the interface despite the exceptional alert
