I know this thread is about the cell level on a battery. But this is a rookie question about batteries.
If AH is the most important than and a 24v 200AH battery is 5120W and a 48v 100AH battery is 5120W they have equal output. Yet it appears some are saying the AH is more important. If the...
I wasn't referring to a mixed system. How about 2 - 24 v in parallel for a 48v system and the same but in series with 2 - 48v batteries. Both would then be 48v and 200AH and 10240W. I understand nominal voltage which is why the watt rating is higher than 4800W.
I guess I am a bit confused here. Why did you use Vmp where the solar calculators I find online use Voc? The one from Victron doesn't make sense to me. It does seem 6 would be better.

That is a good option and similar to what I am imagining. I was thinking the EG4 24V 200Ah and individual components and I was leaning to a 3000W inverter also.
I may not go the cheapest route but I sure won't go $20k+ for a full home system with experimenting on a smaller scale. In my research it is clear this is expensive, how expensive it is or will be is up to the individual.
The only devices I really need are the 2 refrigerators. In the door the new one says 1.5a and the old one says 10a. So that should be 180w and 1200w. I don't believe in reality they are that far apart. On the last day of the power outage I used a 2000w gas generator to power them and charge the...
So what is the calculation I should use to determine the sizing. And does the Isc matter. The solar calculators use Voc and Isc so are they wrong or is there some correction factor in them?
I only have one good spot in the yard so turning them a bit would suffice. No generator. If going the generator route I wouldn't need the solar. Solar is preferred by me and the learning for a future project is my main desire.
Something smaller like that was my original plan but as I dug down the rabbit hole my plans expanded. The best part is in my planning I can bounce ideas and get recommendations before spending the cash. I feel I am getting good advice.
