Kudos for laying out all your devices on a canvas before securing them. This allows for easy rearrangement and planning. 👍
Here are a couple of things to consider: Along with planning the layout of your devices, carefully think about how you'll run the wires. Excessive crossing over can create...
Is this the battery?
I have two of this "type" of battery (LifePo4), specifically this one. Since many of the batteries are similar, you could probably start with the settings I have.
SETTINGS:
Charged Voltage: 14.35V
Discharge Floor: 10.8V
Tail Current: 2A (0.02C)
Charged Detection Time...
Is there a reason you're considering these units, Victron, AGM, and Sol-Arl, EG4, etc I believe all have a more open and accessible information pipeline for DIY people?
I've not seen the monitoring software solution for Outback, but the Victron one is beautiful if you're looking for a...
Hi @Markus_SignatureSolar , 500ma would be great, but as it stands with the v1.10 firmware on the comm hub and whatever the newest is for the LifePo4 batteries, they don’t report to the hub or the hub doesn’t listen until the amp draw is over 2.2-2.4 amps.
It looks like maybe the early spec had less data, the DC voltage has increased, and the max PV has increased, not sure if there are any actual differences in an earlier released model. Maybe just ask them for the manufacturing date and go from there, I believe it's somewhere on the actual unit...
Which version are you referring to: the build date or the hardware revision?
EG4’s manufacturer likely makes continuous incremental improvements to the hardware. There’s generally not much to reconfigure the batteries, but it’s good to ensure they are all balanced before deployment.
Combining...
Do you happen to have Solar Assistant lying around, could you potentially confirm it can communicate with the battery, and then that might rule out the battery or cable as the source of the issue?

I haven't purchased solar panels from AliExpress, but all my other orders from them have arrived safely, usually within 20-30 days. One advantage of AliExpress is their guarantee: if you read the details, they typically ensure that your shipment will arrive undamaged, or you'll get your money...
I would suggest calling Signature Solar and see if they can provide any undocumented steps to help you get the unit to accept firmware. I’d love to know if there is anything that can be done. ?
I don't understand how the draw from the batteries could come from multiple places exactly, I have no PV hooked up, and the grid is not connected, only the load side. So, energy only has one place it's being drawn, from the batteries through the Sol-Ark and to the load terminals. I guess the...
Also, I didn't notice it at first, but these appear to be either the exact same manufacturer or technical writer, but the specs are identical and so are the graphics in the manuals.
It's literally, word-for-word the same content on most pages and images are identical.
Help us clarify your wiring. Is this correct, you have these batteries connected in parrael to the positive and negative bus bars, then a breaker between this panel and the Sol-Ark?
Are both the battery "RED" cables the same length or at least within an inch of each other, and the same for...
Okay, so the top of the receptacle is 120V, leg 1, and the bottom of the receptacle is 120V leg 2. There is no problem with that, but if you tried to combine the legs on a NEMA 5-15 receptacle that would not be advisable and against electric code.
So do you just want to know when they're live...
I would also add that any sort of pre-packaged kinda dummy proof power wall is also going to be anywhere from 30 to 50% more than just buying rack-mountable LifePo4 batteries. For example, this thing is $2700 for a fancy box with a mere 4.8kWh. On the flip side, a simple rack-mount SOK...
I'm not familiar with the Growatt product line besides having seen and knowing of them.
I've seen Growatt inverters that are single-phased paralleled to get split phase, but what I'm wondering is if you can stack these larger inverters, similar to EG4 and Sol-Ark inverters. I looked in the...
From looking at the insides of some batteries there isn’t a lot of clearance between the tops of the cells and the case. It feels like depending on how much gravity can shift the cells and put them in danger of touching the case is probably the limiting safety factor.
Otherwise, according to...
What would happen if you didn’t pay them for a while? I mean, it’s a cheap backup, but imagine you want to be off grid for good, if that laws/codes forced a payment at every pacel regardless of grid connectivity, then what?
I'm assuming you are talking about this item?

I'm not first hand familiar with these units, but I have seen them installed in numerous places typically coupled with LED Acid or AGM batteries...
When you say under load, typically that means the panels are already connected and they're sending current to your charge controller, disconnecting them at that time is dangerous and you should not do that. But hooking them up, there is no load they're under, the charge controller has to boot...
Not sure what climate you're in but LifePo4 batteries do not like heat or cold, having them sitting in the back of a truck even if it's not directly exposed to the outside, for example under a bed shell, will most likely expose your batteries to operating temperatures that will not be favorable...
There is a way, but you need another inverter EG4 or Sol-Ark are the two I know for certain that support AC coupling. You would isolate that grid tied system to the gen input on the inverter and the inverter would raise or lower the AC frequency to turn on or off the solar system.
But buying...
I'm curious, xavpil has what looks like non-smart batteries, so the Shunt tells the Cerbo if the battery is charging, charged, discharged, dead etc. Why would you want to enable DVCC and override the internal MPPT charge algorithm...
If I have 3x 12v batteries connected in the following configuration.
1: 100 amp
2: 100 amp
3: 70 amp
So, if batteries 2 & 3 (Group A) are put in parallel, it's 12v at 170 amps.
If I put battery group (A) in a series with the 1st battery, I have 24v now. So my math memory recalls that you...
Well then, it looks like a no-risk 700W panel from AliExpress might be your only option, but it's gonna cost you potentially more than buying two 500W panels locally. I would make sure that shipping is refundable also if the panel gets broken in transit.
Jumping in here, but to charge the battery and make sure you do it safely it should be completely disconnected from anything else but the charger. You might also shut the battery off/on then let the charger sit for however many hours it takes to fully charge the battery. As another user noted a...
The "USB2.0-Ser!" text in the port is odd to me. It could be the "!" is what is placed in the box when SA truncates the string in the name if it's too long, or it could be some oddity about the ports.
The battery you're connecting SA to, what do you have the DIP switches set to on that...
I'm not an electrical engineer however typically Amazon has a good reputation for controlling the sellers on their platform. The other commenter makes it sound like because they're inexpensive they must be too good of a deal, however, places that only sell specific products and depend on...
You are correct that LifePo4 batteries are not the same as lead-acid and require a different type of charge cycle to properly fill them. I would suggest digging in to see what kind of charger you have and potentially replacing it with the correct equipment.
This might give you some good...
One more site to consider.. Mercardo Libre sells solar panels if you can get them in Mexico or maybe they ship to the US now, they're basically the Amazon of South/Central America...
If you tried to hook up a portable power station this way, it most likely would fry or hopefully trip the breaker before that happens.
What you're describing is called grid synchronization it's what happens when you connect your grid-tied inverter to the main panel of your home. However, a...
I think you could use just one of the Victron distributors, but the fuses and it should handle in my scenario both battery chassis. So if you take the cover off I see it working like as follows, pretty cool considering the cost of the bus bars, this seems to work pefect.
I know this is an older thread, but I recently added an insight device for a client to their existing Schneider system. The client has 6x LifePower4 batteries in a single cabinet. I created the two-wire ethernet cable as instructed in the EG4 video and ran through the steps, but I can only...
I had the same experience placing an order for 12 batteries and the cases showed up about 2 months later. I wasn't in a rush so I didn't mind waiting without much data, I felt comfortable they would eventually arrive and then did.
It still produces 24v, I actually tested them and it's working fine, I just have one battery that is smaller, and rather than buy another or not use they idel battery, I figured why not put it in parallel so it's increasing the overall amperage of the battery bank.
Is there a problem I'm not...
So I understand, you have both the negative and positive fused? I'm looking to hookup a sol-ark 15K to two Eg4 racks of batteries and I was just thinking about using 1x Lynx Distributor. Only hot is fused and it's technically double fused, but I presume it should work and simply things?
For everyone else's information, California has the strictest building codes in the US. We remodeled our San Diego home in 2018 and spent a lot of time going through all the Title 24 requirements.

While I agree with most of the requirements...
Unless you need these for inspection (rapid shutdown) you can provision the system without them and add them later on.
I decided to reach out to another contact in Sales and he confirmed they're still shooting for Q1. However, he would not give me any more details surrounding why the delay, or...
According to the specs, it is a Sol-Ark 15K. A good idea for them is to increase volume and resel their units white labeled. A big company like Duracell might move a descent volume and provide a healthy revenue stream to Sol-Ark for reinvestment, keeping strong support and continual firmware...
basically you want to de energize your home but leave the charge functionality on so it can keep the batteries topped off. Even if the inverter can’t shut the loads off with a software setting or even if the inverter doesn’t have a physical breaker, you connection from your all-in-one inverter...
I'm having trouble seeing how this question relates to solar energy.
However, If it's from Amazon, just buy it and return it if it doesn't work. Sometimes you have to ignore the hassle of return shame because the only way to know if something will work is to try it out for yourself. (y)
