  • Post in thread: Has Anyone Hacked A Battery Expansion Port?

I know many of these power stations that offer expansion batteries have a proprietary cable but I'm just curious if anyone has found a way to hook up a battery of the proper voltage/chemistry and use that expansion port? Yes, I know you can use the solar input and either use the highest voltage...
  • Post in thread: Inverter with bike battery?

You’re in luck. Your EcoFlow accepts Solar Input at 11-60V at either 13A or 15A, max 500W. Finding some conflicting info on the amperage. What does this mean? Well Solar is DC. The MPPT has no way of knowing what’s providing the DC power, just as long as it falls within the parameters you’re...
  • Post in thread: Has this RVer gone overboard?

When you have so much money that the time spent researching how to do it cheaper would not create enough savings to justify the income you missed out on while hanging out on the DIYSolar Forum
  • Post in thread: What’s “reasonable” for backordered products?

I can't imagine SOK would care too much unless they were doing something extremely unethical. I say leave the ball in the liars court. See how long they'll go without communication. Pestering them won't speed up your refund IMO. I think this will end up with the CC company yanking the money from...
  • Post in thread: A story about importing LiFePO4 cells

Define "perfect" Your definition of perfect might be less than what the EV buyers consider "satisfactory" The easiest way a DIY'er can separate EV cells from rejects is to hit them with a 1C or 2C load. Of course this is going to require a very expensive DC Electronic Load in the thousands of...
  • Post in thread: 14.2, 14.4, 14.6 - seems like there is no agreement on charging voltage

The old A123 ANR26650 M1 specification stated it but I'm having trouble finding a copy of the old datasheet. HKJ copied the info and put it on his website This site also talks about it...

The A40L supports automatic cycles set up via PC. The website is jibberish. On my A20 you can actually set up one cycle on the device interface crudely but the PC allows much more control over steps. There is only one version of the A40L and V1.8.5 is the most recent software AFAIK

  • Post in thread: 96 Cell A123 ANR26650M1B on FleaBay for $99 Shipped. Tested 100% Amp Hours and 98% Watt Hours. Cut Into 12V Packs And Slides Into 30 Cal Can

A word of warning for anyone attempting this. When you cut the pack into thirds you will find the outermost cells are not going to be attached by much in regards to the tab that goes on the pos or neg of the cell. In order to make this fit I am afraid I'm really going to have to trim down the...
  • Post in thread: Battery capacity tester

I’ll gladly post pics of my A20 if others would like to compare (inside and outside the case). I paid ~$60 IIRC, power supply was DOA so I bought a Belkin or some other known name 90W and got Aliexpress to side with me on reimbursement for the whole price of that PSU. All accessories too but I...
