AGMs are more fussy to charge then lead acid and more prone to sulfation if not fully charged on a regular basis. They are better in many ways (charge acceptance / deep discharge) but harder to keep happy. You really should have a minimum of 10% of the combined amp hour capacity of your AGM...

Sure - keep the Forum informed as to how this work out for you. I think the bus bar issue is the weakest link in these cells. I have had to remove mine twice this year to clean and re torque due to voltage fluctuations... I'm going to try the MG Chemicals 647 that Upnorthandpersonal...

That's a very tight space for those cells. Nothwithstanding the nylon straps, it looks like those cells could vibrate laterally. If there was a largish (1 awg) cable & lug connected to the pictured end-terminal without some very carefully implemented strain-relief on the cable, it seem easy...

Bud, i have not testing it on an induction load like a fridge. Spec sheet says it can handle large start up loads. I would be interested in your results when yours arrive. Seems like a very beefy unit for a 1000w inverter...

You design looks fine but it's not clear to me if the coms will play nice out of the Epoch 300 with the Victron gear. DC -DC chargers are inefficient and don't provide a lot of power. So with this design you will be relient on your solar. Perhaps not a problem in sunny GA, but not an option...

I bought some EVE 280s from Alex while at Basen around the same time as you. They also tested out around 273 amp hours but they didn't have any major voltage drop when loaded and have stayed well balanced ( except some for annoying bus bar resistance issues, which are not the cell's fault ). So...
