  • Post in thread: BATTERY SELLERS - THE GOOD, BAD, UGLY -- or Jenny (DOCAN) so far so good ...

I'm currently in the second half of a capacity test for 4 Eve 100Ah that I purchased from Jenny from the TX warehouse. Very fast shipping and packaging was awesome. This was more an order to test the waters. Cells look good. There is the slightest bloat on them at full SOC, but I don't know...
  • Post in thread: Beware @Michael B Caro

I really wonder how much in the hole he is. A couple of hundred members buying anywhere from 4 to 32+ cells. Scary to think about and I wish he had weighed the risk there.
  • Post in thread: Dud liitokala "A grade new" cells?

At this point with the variety of good sellers many on the forum are using, I don't think anyone should be buying LK cells anymore.
  • Post in thread: B&H Photo/Video for Solar Power

Used to love killing some time in B&H during a lunch break!
  • Post in thread: AliExpress LiitokalaVariCoreFlagship Store 280AH LiFePO4 Fraud

Semi off topic, I haven't been keeping up since I sourced my cells earlier this year but have the amount of 'false advertised' cells increased vs. last year? Where are people sourcing 280 cells, for example, that are meeting or exceeding 280Ah capacity? My basen 280s came in at 290Ah and I feel...

If OP goes Inkbird in this setup, I think they'd want to go with the 12V version - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019I3YCFS

In general, I think you just need to manage your expectations a bit better. Perhaps try another form of communication with her (she has listed her personal email + Facebook). Regarding the shipping from Houston by UPS, seems like she can only quote you what they quote her. I still get Amazon...
  • Post in thread: Help with adding a solar charge controller to my small DIY battery box

You were right about a more well reviewed controller. I picked up an open box Renogy Wanderer 10A and at the very least, it being more descriptive and having an actual manual makes it easier for me. I just set it up and the numbers coming in are looking great.
  • Post in thread: Source for Solar Panels in NJ?

I wish I knew as I'm also in NJ so if you eventually find a source, please update this post! Good luck
  • Post in thread: Overkill Solar vs JBD direct purchase

Purchased with a credit card? If they end up not responding, a chargeback will be swift and painless.
  • Post in thread: WILL'S VIDS: New DIY Milk-crate Power Centers.

I was just thinking of taking this on as my first build. As I understand it, I can just wire in an "all in one" inverter like MPP Solar 1012LV and it will be ready to both charge the batteries via AC and solar as well as supply power via AC. Is that correct?
  • Post in thread: 2000w Portable Power Station with 400w Solar Charging

Very cool and well thought out! I just finished my rolling toolbox build as well. I really like that you used the stackable boxes to make it really modular.
  • Post in thread: DIY Mobile battery box

Nice! I use the same Husky box for my 4S 280Ah + MPP Solar 12V all in one. Snug fit but it works! I wish the latches were a bit beefier though.
  • Post in thread: Please check my diagram - 4S 12V + MPP All In One in a rolling toolbox

I should have mentioned this. I used the cable in this Windy Nation kit. I'm not sure if it's welding cable but I think it is. Thanks for the info. I will consider upsizing.
  • Post in thread: Thicker Wires Top Balancing makes huge difference!!

I would just like to bring this back up to say that I did the same thing! :ROFLMAO: Thanks to this thread!!
  • Post in thread: Wen generators

Yup. I actually tried to run my small Ryobi 10" sliding miter saw on my 2000W surge Westinghouse inverter generator and it choked it. The surge is strong with power tools.
  • Post in thread: New batts from Docan Tech

Finished my build with their EVE 100Ah. Very very pleased.
  • Post in thread: Help with adding a solar charge controller to my small DIY battery box

Thanks for the reply! I started over with the connections and, this time, made sure that I connected the charge controller to the battery first. Maybe that was the problem because it's been working fine for the past hour with the panel in full sun. No overvoltage events so that's promising...

  • Post in thread: 40A Daly MBS 4S 12V

An ebay seller sent me the wrong BMS but said I could keep this while he sent the correct one. Can I use this on a smaller LiFePO4 battery that will only have a 300W inverter? When I looked at the Amazon listing, it says that it's for 18650 batteries so that's why I'm not sure if I can use it...
  • Post in thread: Please check my diagram - 4S 12V + MPP All In One in a rolling toolbox

Whipped up the diagram in Google Sheets. I'm just looking for any critiques or callouts in my modest 12V build. I built Will's milk crate build previously and wanted to make something a bit 'nicer'. I'm eager to read any feedback. Highlights are: 280Ah cells Overkill 120A BMS MPP Solar...
  • Post in thread: wich 4S 12V 100A-150A BMS has real low temp protection

Wow that's good to know. I have a pending order with them that I thought would ship in shortly but I guess I'll have to wait a LONG time. Time to rethink but I'm still waiting for cells from China so I have time anyway.
  • Post in thread: Source for Solar Panels in NJ?

I'm in for 1! Maybe 2 for my DIY builds. Already got 29 on my roof :)
  • Post in thread: Overkill Solar 4S 120a BMS Order OPTION Recomendations?

Saw this in the description when I randomly visited the 4S BMS page. Ended up ordering one!
  • Post in thread: Portable Power Station

When you say that you charge via Anderson powerpole using a NOCO charger, does that mean you made an adapter cable? If so, mind explaining that or posting a picture? I'm building one of these and have a NOCO charger. I'm stuck on how to go from the NOCO's alligator clips to a connector on my...
  • Post in thread: Help with adding a solar charge controller to my small DIY battery box

As a follow up to this, I received the controller and connected it (properly, I believe). Initially, things were looking good with my Paxcess/Rockman 120W panel, but then things got weird. After a minute or two, voltage at the battery shot up to 20V! Looks like the controller was allowing full...
  • Post in thread: Whats your average KWH hour household ?

I've been tracking mine since I just finished up getting quotes for a 9.7kW system that will hopefully be installed within 3 months. I average 34kWh per day in a poorly insulated 2000sqft cape cod in NJ.
