I'm currently in the second half of a capacity test for 4 Eve 100Ah that I purchased from Jenny from the TX warehouse. Very fast shipping and packaging was awesome. This was more an order to test the waters.
Cells look good. There is the slightest bloat on them at full SOC, but I don't know...
I really wonder how much in the hole he is. A couple of hundred members buying anywhere from 4 to 32+ cells. Scary to think about and I wish he had weighed the risk there.
Semi off topic, I haven't been keeping up since I sourced my cells earlier this year but have the amount of 'false advertised' cells increased vs. last year? Where are people sourcing 280 cells, for example, that are meeting or exceeding 280Ah capacity?
My basen 280s came in at 290Ah and I feel...
In general, I think you just need to manage your expectations a bit better. Perhaps try another form of communication with her (she has listed her personal email + Facebook).
Regarding the shipping from Houston by UPS, seems like she can only quote you what they quote her. I still get Amazon...
You were right about a more well reviewed controller. I picked up an open box Renogy Wanderer 10A and at the very least, it being more descriptive and having an actual manual makes it easier for me. I just set it up and the numbers coming in are looking great.
I was just thinking of taking this on as my first build. As I understand it, I can just wire in an "all in one" inverter like MPP Solar 1012LV and it will be ready to both charge the batteries via AC and solar as well as supply power via AC. Is that correct?
Very cool and well thought out! I just finished my rolling toolbox build as well. I really like that you used the stackable boxes to make it really modular.
I should have mentioned this. I used the cable in this Windy Nation kit. I'm not sure if it's welding cable but I think it is. Thanks for the info. I will consider upsizing.
Yup. I actually tried to run my small Ryobi 10" sliding miter saw on my 2000W surge Westinghouse inverter generator and it choked it. The surge is strong with power tools.
Thanks for the reply! I started over with the connections and, this time, made sure that I connected the charge controller to the battery first. Maybe that was the problem because it's been working fine for the past hour with the panel in full sun. No overvoltage events so that's promising...
An ebay seller sent me the wrong BMS but said I could keep this while he sent the correct one.
Can I use this on a smaller LiFePO4 battery that will only have a 300W inverter?
When I looked at the Amazon listing, it says that it's for 18650 batteries so that's why I'm not sure if I can use it...
Whipped up the diagram in Google Sheets. I'm just looking for any critiques or callouts in my modest 12V build. I built Will's milk crate build previously and wanted to make something a bit 'nicer'. I'm eager to read any feedback.
Highlights are:
280Ah cells
Overkill 120A BMS
MPP Solar...
Wow that's good to know. I have a pending order with them that I thought would ship in shortly but I guess I'll have to wait a LONG time. Time to rethink but I'm still waiting for cells from China so I have time anyway.
When you say that you charge via Anderson powerpole using a NOCO charger, does that mean you made an adapter cable? If so, mind explaining that or posting a picture? I'm building one of these and have a NOCO charger. I'm stuck on how to go from the NOCO's alligator clips to a connector on my...
As a follow up to this, I received the controller and connected it (properly, I believe). Initially, things were looking good with my Paxcess/Rockman 120W panel, but then things got weird. After a minute or two, voltage at the battery shot up to 20V! Looks like the controller was allowing full...
I've been tracking mine since I just finished up getting quotes for a 9.7kW system that will hopefully be installed within 3 months. I average 34kWh per day in a poorly insulated 2000sqft cape cod in NJ.
