Have been in contact with their support two times lately asking about products I have been considering buying. Both times I have got answers from people who does not know their products or want to learn. After that experience I have decided not to become a Renogy customer.
Hi Guys, Today I glued my studs. It is just preventative. (Not more than normal wiggle before gluing) with the studs)
First cleaning with aceton. Then primer 494147 + Loctite 271.
I did grind the end of the studs just to get more thread in to the battery. Backed out the stud 1/4 turn before...
Agree. I used 2/0 between a 280Ah/12V and a 3000 W inverter in my RV. Works flawless. But in a boat I need to comply with ABYC so
better to follow the recommendation's…….
Thanks Sharky,
Will look at that when I visit the trailer next time.
Can you access Difittercurr over Bluetooh, or do you need to
connect with PC?
My 200A Daly is not reading under 2A.
Hi,
To reduce the use of a generator while Boondocking I was thinking carrying a smaller LifePo4 battery bank on the truck bed.
As we use the truck daily for excursions I was thinking to charge this bank with a DC/DC charger while driving.
When returning to camp with a full battery I want to...
Yes I read your post how you did that repair. You never considered to do JB weld
on the other terminals?
Agree that conductivity around the grub screw is totally irrelevant.
One of the problems with the early BMS:s was parasitic current draw. I know a number of people that came back to their boats after 12 month in storage and did find the battery bank empty (destroyed) because of parasitic current draw from the BMS.
i do not know what the current draw is from the...
I’m sure pressure will change with SOC and temp. No doubt. Read the threads about springs and load cells. There is a bunch of smart people that is trying to solve that problem on this forum. I spent one evening reading those compression threads.
Trying to achieve ”perfect” is in my world...
My Daly Smart BMS 4S (200A) is not registering small loads? I have a parasitic draw around 1.1A/h in my travel trailer.
The Daly BMS show 0. My Victron shunt shows 1.1 A.
As the Daly BMS does not show small loads it also stop calculate SOC. So big difference in calculated SOC between Victron...
Thanks Sharky?
Your information was 100% correct. Digged out an old Windows laptop from the closet and downloaded Sinowealth software. Dfittercurr was set to 2000mA on my 200A BMS. Changed it to 100mA and BMS started to read small loads. I bet this also means that the BMS also will start...
Yes I did find the zero current calibration. I’m not sure If I did it correct?
This is what I did.
But I made sure there was no load and then pushed the button ?
The BMS is a passive on/off switch. The spikes are coming from your alternator.
I would check terminal connections. Bad connections will not be obvious when charging with a low current.
Charging with a High output alternator can cause balance problems if you have bad connections.
I would...
Hi guys,
I’m installing 2 x 280Ah batteries in parallel on my boat.
Have been running 4/0 marine wires (105C) between battery fuse (400 Ah) and Victron Multiplus 12v/120A/3000W.
Typical high draw will be 1800 W when induction top is used. (But would like to size system for the 3000W...
I have a Victron Multiplus 3000W with 2xSOK 280Ah installed in a boat.
That means I switch off the main battery switch when I do not use the boat. So Multiplus is disconnected.
Is there any pre charge circuits built in to the batteries?
How long does the capacitors stay charged?
As my...
I have got my new EVE cells. Bought stainless steel grub screws.
They definitely wobble in the thread. Does not feel like they provide a sturdy connection
in a travel trailer. Loctite would definitely stop the wobbling.
But the question is will Loctite make the connection stronger.
Thanks. Have used Loctite many times. Never failed. But yes I share your concern making it work on the battery pole. It is not many threads to work with.
There is nothing wrong with the threads at the moment. So Loctite would only be a preventive thing.
Thanks for answering. I was reading lot of threads yesterday about compression.....
Did not give me much answers. How much torque should I apply on 4 bolts compressing (4 EVE 280Ah) to achieve 12PSI?
I think this setting ”Defittercurr” controls the sleep mode of the BMS? Disconnected everything from the BMS. The Amps that the BMS register cycles between -0.1 to 0.3A. Not sure what it is measuring as there is nothing connected. BMS has not gone in to sleep mode since I changed the setting...
I topbalanced my cells in paralell. Then put them together in series. One cell is running away when I get to the knees. Before I reach the knees there are very small difference.
It is always the same cell In both ends of the voltage curve.
Did set the charger to 14.2V and got a diff of 0.1V...
I have EVE 280 Ah cells that I bought on AliExpress.
Did top balance the cells @ 3.65V.
I charge them to 3.475 (13.9V) with 2 hours of absorbtion.
Delta V goes to 55 mV.
The Daly BMS is the only balancing that take place.
My question:
What is considered an acceptable Delta V for matched...
What I do not know is if the Victron Orion step up the voltage on the output port? I guess I will find out.
Renogy support answered that it was not possible.
