Quick Update:
Tinned the bus bars/connections. I tried both the Vinegar bath or hydrochloric acid at 10:1 ratio.
The Vinegar gave the best result for me.
Temp Installed the DALY BMS, used an electrical Terminal Block with levers to route the Sense Wires, I am in the need for connectors for...
Hey!
I just purchased 4 modules and plan to build these as 5 [48v] batteries. Im curious if I should use 5 BMS's or parallel them in some way. Not sure as of yet.
Any recommendation on a BMS for cells this size? I dont belive that I will need the full 3c discharge, Im thinking 100/150 amp...
Looks like I was pulling data, but the poll was set to be too high, therefore the connection was being reset. I am trying different polling intervals now such as: scan_interval: 60
Thank you @n2aws & @sancsam for all the help! I'm going to now look for other useful registers.
@sancsam...
Hey!
I currently have 500ah in total. I have 5 48v Gyll batteries. I need one more to make a set of 6 in their battery cage that I bought. I enjoy the simplicity of their setup the most.
I would like to create another 30kwh in prismatic 280ah cells
I'm a little late to this thread, sorry about that. I will post all the information I have gathered so far.
I want to make my HA config much more modular, however I am having a difficult time, as I have 3 MODBUS connections; I have a thread here...
I got tired of all the crap inverters out there. GroWatt 12k was beast, but had hardware issues, I tried EG4 6500's as well. The EG4's literaly blew up, so I went with Schneider XW Pro 4868 - Never had an issue since. I'm completely off grid, so therefore dependability is a must.
Ok I think I have figured out how to complete the 16S of the 20S module.
Here is a semi-mock-up of it.
The module is in 20S configuration. Above is the plan for 16S. I have a pretty good idea as well on a 4S configuration for easy wiring in the near future.
Since I have 4 modules...
Ordered these connectors from china. States 400a, I shouldn’t see these numbers, this requires very little work now.

OK a bit of progress:
I purchased these from amazon, [I am not an affiliate]:
https://a.co/d/g1rSm3I
Also, I cut some of by copper "buss-bar" so I could use the existing routing of the front battery bracket/design.
I moved the existing connectors over by .75", in the same plane as the...
Yes, these are supposed to be new never used CATL cells. From what I have seen, I do believe so as well. I was in the same boat, I’m glad I pulled the trigger to buy 4 of these.
Fingers crossed that I do not run into no issues.
I have the older EG4-LL V1 Pro [With Display] batteries. I'm thinking about using CAN for XW to EG4 BMS communication, then using RS485 with with solar assistant for individual cell monitoring.
This way I can get my SOC to show within Home Assistant.
Congratulations on the modules. I have four of these now that I am working on.
Check out my post I have in these forums, on doing exactly what you plan to do.

Thanks! Feel free to...
I am not sure, David Poz's Video makes some statments about these being from an abandoned project. I would assume mass storage for a grid system myself. But I do not know.
Thanks, Joe!
I have two of these e4g batteries 48V. I did not have the settings correct in the growatt. I am communicating with the BMS now, thanks to you! I am still wating for my WiFi to be delivered.
Now that the protocol is known for the BMS communication, hopefully we can implement...
Ok, Thanks for the information. This is quite useful from a general aspect of Solar. I would like to try to point a few things out and try to get the confusion out of my head.
1) I have a bit under a 12 KW [11.8] array going to this SCC:
A single panel is = 370w / Imp =9.28a Vmp=39.9
This...
I wanted to thank both of you guys @Zwy and @sunshine_eggo for taking the time to unwrap my head concerning my expectations of the MPP in my inverter, vs how it actually performs. You have saved me a lot of heart ache and frustrations!
I think my route might actually be to buy a pair --or 2...
Agreed!
So far I have a preliminary design. I will be using 4” c channel.
I also cut the existing BMU female plugs out and plan to make the plug in as a wiring harness. This will allow me to use the existing wiring harness.
Still not sure was BMS to go with. Seplos or maybe the one used in...
It seems this is the only place I could find that states EG4 Batteries LL's version, with V1 firmware works closed loop, with the new firmware released as you described above @Mr-Sandman. Thanks to you I have my batteries in closed loop communication with my 6848 Pro and 6 EG4 LL's V1.
Has...
The modules are as shown below. I purchased (4)
This is the preliminary design. Each module is over 300lbs and all 4 modules weight in around 1400lbs!
David Poz on YouTube has a great video showing these modules off.
Stay tuned as I figure out how I proceed with these modules to...
I have been integrating the Schneider 6848 Pro / EG4 setup into Home Assistant. I have found the ModBus Maps and I have integrated most of the important stuff so far, however I have not been able to get any data from the "EG4 BMS" that is found when we add the EG4's Battery - BMS into the...
Ok, now I need a good BMS, I’m considering Seplos or Pace/Gobal power’s BMS. Off-Grid garage seems to suggest these are the best from of his testing.
I would like to have communication with XW 6848 Pro and that when fully charged the MPPT’s are not commanded off. (Not sure if a victron only...
Thank you Gentlemen, I did not realize that you must be using the "float" option to continue carrying the loads, using solar.
Is this an industry standard? Is there a rational on why? As you are aware lithium does not need to be floated, so I chose the manufactures voltage suggestion from EG4...
Hey Guys/Gals,
I have a EG4 6500ex currently charging my 6x EG4lls Pro [with LCD] batteries. My EG4 6500 120V AC inverter is not "on", as I am not using AC out, just as a battery charger.
Why use it for just charging? [[ I was setting up for split phase]] Well one of my 6500's blew up -...
I will tin plate them, I think Tin should be enough? Do you? I will only Tin plate the areas of contact as the remaning area's will have heat shrink on them.
Thank you for sharing the video! I only found two videos of these cells (modules), this one and David’s.
I’m sure it’s ok the way he has it, but I think I would like to do something a bit different than what has.
I’m hoping to have mine more cleaner looking. Not knocking on the guy of...
Updated Photo's. I am waiting for parts to come in. When that happens the next photo's should contain heat shrink'd bus bars, tinned connections with installed DALY BMS [Temporary]
Or, I wont get that far, time will tell!
