https://natron.energy/product/ over 50,000 cycles check the brochure and specifications links. not quite lithium ion in energy density but close and charges in 8 minutes. accepts 72 amps max. charge. haven't found out the price yet. a lot shorter looking rack mount than other storage batteries.

natron also invented a version. https://natron.energy/product/
  • Post in thread: wind and solar mppt controllers

I decided to temporarily forget buying/installing a wind generator. i think there is enough wind here to help, but want to concentrate on getting my solar setup running correctly first.
  • Post in thread: Mixing solar charge controllers

i'm not planning on using the cable to the batteries. both my charge controllers are 100a. so i presume if both are active for bulk charging; then they will both put out 100a x 2 = 200a. i have 4 each 100ah batteries, so that would be .5c or if only one is active; then .25c. that is fine with...
  • Post in thread: Low Temp Heating Strategy in Remote Cold

maybe you could use an extension cord to keep your engine warm overnight and tie in warming packs for a battery inside the car. then when you go fishing, pull the battery out of the car to use in the fishing hut. the battery shouldn't cool off too fast...especially if insulated in a cooler. i...
  • Post in thread: Big capacity solar panels in South Florida

i think santan solar has an outlet in Georgia. look them up on line.
  • Post in thread: galvanic energy discovers a huge supply of lithium in a mine

central, southern arkansas Smackover mine has 350mg/liter...estimated 4 million tons of lithium. great news! https://galvanicenergy.com/

Will, maybe they will let you test one???
  • Post in thread: Got Tractor?

as a gold miner, i have some equipment. bought a used tractor, big mistake. should have bought a skid steer. don't need the backhoe because i have an excavator. the tractor is too big to get around in the tight woods.
  • Post in thread: how do you build an offgrid system gradually? i'm poor

I have some parts and am buying more in the next 8 days. i want to be able to power my kitchen when the power goes out...six times per year average, usually 2 or 3 days, but one time for 9 days. i have totaled the max. watts I would need if using everything and the usual load; 4000 and 2500...
  • Post in thread: Solar Panel advise

santan solar has cheap used panels, but i think you have to buy a pallet at a time?
  • Post in thread: DC Power Supply to MPPT SCC Input

i found a power supply that uses 220vac input, 0 to 331vdc at 10 to 15 amps output. but no info. on how to adjust the output. i have a victron 450v 100a mppt and would like to set the output to max. voltage and 10 amps = 3320w input. set the mppt for 10amps input. put a breaker and fuse...
  • Post in thread: storen technologies vanadium flow battery for residences

Storen is getting closer to actually selling their residential sized battery. they have to get them tested/approved for the U/L specs. so it could be a few months before they are ready to sell them. I'm going to bet that they want about $15,000 for their 30kwh battery. let's do some math-- sig...
  • Post in thread: cheap battery charger

if your batteries are in series, then you have a 24v battery. if in parallel, then you have a 12v battery and they may charge up at different voltages.
  • Post in thread: eel battery just out...like bluetti and ecoflow, stackable to 15

just tried it. you are right. however, i copied the link backwards to the http:// and then tried it and it worked fine. weird !!!
  • Post in thread: Need inverter recommendations for offgrid house

i'm trying to an appropriate inverter also. i want at least 4000watts output eventually. using two 48v 100ah batteries to begin with and hope to buy at least one more eventually. my mppt is victron 500v 80a. i already have 4/0 wire. will have two 20 amp ac circuit breakers for output. My...

  • Post in thread: 450vdc plus standalone solar charge controllers?

eg4 6500 or sol-ark? eg4 makes an 8000w also, not sure about more powerful. i don't need that much. i do plan on getting another eg4 6500 for 240v split phase eventually...if i ever get and EV.
  • Post in thread: Home battery backup, with inputs for generator charging and future powering the house off EV as a backup...

i want to do something similar with different timing. i have enough solar for now, but little in the morning. if i run off the grid over night; then i may not have enough power until 9:30 or 10am. i do have a small 1700w generator, but only want to use it for emergencies -- small gensets only...
  • Post in thread: Struggling with battery capacity

the grow watt only puts out 80a max no matter how big the solar panels. this is only 4500 watts going into the battery. this is supposed to be going into a 24kw battery system, so maybe a total of 9kw for 2 hours. plus some 10amp float charging for 4.5 hours (540w x 4.5 hours = 2430w), which...
  • Post in thread: Melted Two Charge Controllers in One Week

connections to stranded wires will loosen over time, just re-tighten them. this is due to heating and cooling. or use terminal lugs if possible. maybe also check for corrosion once per month. bad connections act like resistors. so even though your battery charger puts out 14 or 15vdc, a bad...
  • Post in thread: how do you build an offgrid system gradually? i'm poor

thanks. I think i'll have to save for 3 months to buy a good mppt inverter/charger. i already have some solar panels and am buying more in 8 days. if they don't work with the mppt; then i have 2 ecoflow systems, a delta max and a delta river that i bought for camping and can use the panels for...
  • Post in thread: sodium-ion batteries .....

i checked out the spec. sheet. total power .27kwh 5ah miniscule!!!! i still haven't gotten a price from them. 5kwh / .27 kwh = 18 of them to buy and stack. ridiculous for a storage battery.
  • Post in thread: Schneider Electric MPPT 80a 600v

    1. has anyone checked the quality of this controller? 2. is there any way you can connect from controller to both battery and hot water tank with prioty to the battery? if not with this controller, then which controller do i buy for a 6000w system?
  • Post in thread: Can the 12vdc output from a generator (20 amps) be wired into the mppt input or combiner box?

i'm in the process of buying a 48vdc battery charger to use with my batteries that i pick up on may 2nd. i don't know the ampere output of the charger, but if it is 10 amps; then that's 480watts plus for whatever the higher voltage is for it. maybe i could use it to feed my mppt for my current...
  • Post in thread: how do you build an offgrid system gradually? i'm poor

    500 watts @ 120 vac for 9 hours during the day= 4.5kwh + 4000 watts @ 120 volts for 1 hour (during day)= 4kwh + 1500 watts @ 120 volts for 7 hours (during night)=10.5kwh, leaving 7 hours when i only power for my fridge, 300 w??? total watt/hours used = 21.1kwh x 3 days = 63.3kwh. apparently my...
  • Post in thread: how do you build an offgrid system gradually? i'm poor

i am guessing at 300 watts for my fridge and 180 watts for lights = 480 or about 500 watts x 14 hours = 7kwh. but during the winter i'll need some heat... 1500watts for space heater or baseboard? x 24 hours = 36kwh, but i'm usually gone a good portion of the day and i turn the heater down a...
  • Post in thread: Backup Power Solution (All In One?)

I'm trying to just power my kitchen for 3 days, especially during winter grid failures. I have about 4kw of solar now, but during winter i usually have clouds. I have a little 1700 watt generator that will power my fridge, a few led lights, and my computer/tv. i haven't tested it yet. I'm...
  • Post in thread: how do you build an offgrid system gradually? i'm poor

I'm getting poorer! I bought two used 100ah 48v rack batteries @ a little over $4200 on my credit card. so i now have 3 loans to pay off. plus my other credit card. however, as soon as i get the batteries I get to start wiring everything.
  • Post in thread: how do you build an offgrid system gradually? i'm poor

you have lots of questions! this reply should answer most of them. i have 4 ea. 315w solar panels and 4ea. 245w panels - all used. will buy 4 more 245w next month. total will be close to 3kw. i have a schneider inverter 5600w that i bought used for $500. currently, i am using a 1500w inverter...
