I ordered the eg4 30A charger from Signature Solar. It’s permanently connected to my bus bars and charges my two 24v Lifepower4 batteries without issues. I use a Honda EU 2000 generator when charging.

My two are not in a rack. On the floor with handles up due to limited space. I was told this is fine from signature solar.

I don’t have a picture. They were used all summer this way at my cabin. Now they’re in my basement in the same position. Handles up.

Do I need to update firmware? I have the cables but not sure we’re to get the update or the procedure. I was getting inaccurate SOC data on the growatt as it was always 64% even thought it knew the batteries were closer to 88% a few weeks ago.

That's what I did and it worked great. The BMS and battery are back to working as expected!

Tested the batteries this evening with nothing connected. They each read 25.5v. Currently at a 5%SOC. I’ll get them hooked up to the charger tomorrow and hopefully the issue will be resolved. This solar thing teaches me something new every month or so. ?

My batteries do have temp protection in the BMS. The odd thing is that it disconnections the charge terminal at 24F and not 32F. Not sure why.

Thanks for the additional information. I have the manual at the cabin and I'll adjust those settings and see how it goes. I can't wait to try it and hopefully get this figured out. I appreciate the help!

So the batteries now show 26.6 total voltage. The Bms is at 41%. Do you think the % will just jump to 100% once the max voltage is reached? Will doing a reset of the batteries also result in a 100% on the Bms once they reach max voltage? Hoping to have good news once I look at them when I return...

I’ll try that. On the voltage issue the panels do have a voc of 43v. How much can cold weather increase voltage? I thought I would be safe under 150v maximum.

Thanks for your response as well! Also do you think just using two panels would keep the mppt safe until I can consider running panels in parallel? I have no trouble getting enough solar to keep batteries charged. Really only running two batteries to handle the load from my well pump.

I have done it with my two Lifepower4 batteries and bus bar. I've read it allows for better balance between the batteries output and figured it's worth the cost of additional wire length. I didn't test it any other way so don't have data to prove it made a difference.

Mine are liFepo4 24v 5.1 KWh 200AH batteries from Signature Solar. I'm not sure about the 12v question. I'm just getting into solar as well and I only have last summer under my belt. My place is seasonal for the most part so I'm only using the system late spring to early fall.

Watch out for those vacuums. My wife loves to run ours and it pulls 900-1000W. She loves a clean floor and I keep telling her it's a cabin!:) Thankfully she can vacuum the whole place in a short time, so not really a big draw as long as your system can handle to start up wattage.

Pack 1 and 4 are the same battery pack. Addresses are messed up.

It does work at home. When I connect the leads from the charger to the bus bar in my system the Growatt faults and alarms. Maybe a setting needs to be changed? Or do I need to disconnect the batteries from the Growatt to use that charger? I was hoping to have the inverter running while also...
