My take on cell compression…. A little foam, 1/2 acrylic, and a couple tie straps…

Progress has been slow…. I have been waiting on my BMS’s to show up… they finally have! 1 went with JKBMS in 1a20s15p (150 amp) x 4… added 125 amp breakers… the cross over busbars are 4gauge x 2… should be fine but will check with thermal once everything is up and running.

    Been sick…. Finally got to do a little work. Ordered 4x JK BMS’s 150a… still not 100% on how I will configure them… keep leaning to a 16s4p configuration vs a 4 x 16s….
  • Post in thread: 18650batterystore EVE280 experience

And it begins…. I picked up my batteries yesterday from 18650batterystore. My 7hr round trip turned into 8hrs thanks to Atlanta traffic… but saved me $180 in shipping ($240 quote - $60 for gas). Finding their store was a pain (suite 500??? In the middle of 190-200’s???) but other than that...

143kwh… holly hell that’s a big battery bank!!!!
  • Post in thread: DIY 57kwh 48v EVE280k build

Sore as hell but getting better… thanks for asking.
  • Post in thread: DIY 57kwh 48v EVE280k build

I see no advantage to put them in boxes at this point
  • Post in thread: DIY 57kwh 48v EVE280k build

Well 2 days ago I had a little accident… when you think you are being safe enough… better double check! I went to connect the bms and one of the ground lugs came off the post and hit the positive… instantly vaporizing the copper ring terminal and leaving me with a nice little burn. I’m just glad...

Each shelf is rated for 600lbs. The batteries are <400 but yea I’m still a little concerned… I’ll probably reinforce it somehow.
  • Post in thread: Warning when buying EVE LF280K Grade-A cells with new terminal type!

Hi guys, first post here. Great read. I will be picking up 64 of these new style 280 cells from 18650 store in a few days hopefully! I’ll be sure to check them for bent or crooked terminals.

    I have a XW SCP I’d sell.
  • Post in thread: DIY 57kwh 48v EVE280k build

Still a little early to tell but I have 1 cell that is a lot lower compared to the others….
  • Post in thread: Growatt 4880 MPPT vs Schneider 60/150 MPPT

So which is better??? Well I am doing a side by side to see… Build quality - both are well built but the Schneider is a little better IMO. I have not torn into a Growatt yet but the first capacitor I can see is a Rubicon (high quality) which is nice to see. All too often I see cheap crap...
  • Post in thread: DIY 57kwh 48v EVE280k build

Just an update, although 18650batterystore.com did finally get back to me, they were of no help! They asked me to move the cell in the bank to see if it was the BMS causing the issue… I did as they requested and the problem followed the cell. Their reply was that the cell must have a higher...

  • Post in thread: Any honest state side Eve cells Grade A EV resellers?

I have moved the cell and it follows the cell so it is not the BMS. I have verified the voltages using a Fluke. I top balanced for a week and the BMS can get the difference to 1mv, but as soon as you actually cycle the battery it goes out of balance immediately!
  • Post in thread: DIY 57kwh 48v EVE280k build

But after all that I got the batteries together (almost… short 3 nuts… thanks a lot 18650batterystore so much for giving me extras….)

Ran everything to a victron lynx…
  • Post in thread: DIY 57kwh 48v EVE280k build

Well I hate to say it but 18650batterystore.com has not been much help at all with the 1 cell that is bad. It started out lower than all the rest, but once charged it is always first to hit overvoltage usually over .100v difference, and the lowest when I drain the pack, again usually by .100v or...
  • Post in thread: 3d printed cover for EVE 280 dual post

Anyone out there skilled in 3D design/printing? I would love some covers made for the dual post EVE 280’s bus bars. I have played with 3d printing but haven’t done enough to be able to design the part.

It XW is about 10 years old but not used but a few times when my system was originally set up just as a backup for when the power went out…. I picked up the XW+ used (4 years old but removed after 2 years). I was worried about running the 2 together and had listed the original XW for sale with...
  • Post in thread: DIY 57kwh 48v EVE280k build

Let’s get started. This will be my 3rd build of a lithium battery for solar but my first LifePO4 build. My first build was a 23kwh NMC build using 30ah batteries salvaged from an EV. The second was a “power wall” style using 140 21700 cells from a model 3. It powers my gate for my house and...
  • Post in thread: DIY 57kwh 48v EVE280k build

It’s been running good. I don’t have to check it too often which is nice.
  • Post in thread: Any honest state side Eve cells Grade A EV resellers?

    3.4v
  • Post in thread: DIY 57kwh 48v EVE280k build

Well I think I like the shelf build with the shorter section… this way I can mount the charge controllers under the inverters…. Or should I put them on the adjacent wall (away from the sink that I may move or remove)
  • Post in thread: Wanted Schneider

Glad you got what you needed. One thing to note, you are incorrect about the SCP not being firmware updatable. I updated mine via insight.
