My take on cell compression…. A little foam, 1/2 acrylic, and a couple tie straps…

Progress has been slow…. I have been waiting on my BMS’s to show up… they finally have! 1 went with JKBMS in 1a20s15p (150 amp) x 4… added 125 amp breakers… the cross over busbars are 4gauge x 2… should be fine but will check with thermal once everything is up and running.

Been sick…. Finally got to do a little work. Ordered 4x JK BMS’s 150a… still not 100% on how I will configure them… keep leaning to a 16s4p configuration vs a 4 x 16s….

And it begins…. I picked up my batteries yesterday from 18650batterystore. My 7hr round trip turned into 8hrs thanks to Atlanta traffic… but saved me $180 in shipping ($240 quote - $60 for gas). Finding their store was a pain (suite 500??? In the middle of 190-200’s???) but other than that...

Well 2 days ago I had a little accident… when you think you are being safe enough… better double check! I went to connect the bms and one of the ground lugs came off the post and hit the positive… instantly vaporizing the copper ring terminal and leaving me with a nice little burn. I’m just glad...

Each shelf is rated for 600lbs. The batteries are <400 but yea I’m still a little concerned… I’ll probably reinforce it somehow.

Hi guys, first post here. Great read. I will be picking up 64 of these new style 280 cells from 18650 store in a few days hopefully! I’ll be sure to check them for bent or crooked terminals.

So which is better??? Well I am doing a side by side to see… Build quality - both are well built but the Schneider is a little better IMO. I have not torn into a Growatt yet but the first capacitor I can see is a Rubicon (high quality) which is nice to see. All too often I see cheap crap...

Just an update, although 18650batterystore.com did finally get back to me, they were of no help! They asked me to move the cell in the bank to see if it was the BMS causing the issue… I did as they requested and the problem followed the cell. Their reply was that the cell must have a higher...

I have moved the cell and it follows the cell so it is not the BMS. I have verified the voltages using a Fluke. I top balanced for a week and the BMS can get the difference to 1mv, but as soon as you actually cycle the battery it goes out of balance immediately!

But after all that I got the batteries together (almost… short 3 nuts… thanks a lot 18650batterystore so much for giving me extras….)

It started out lower than all the rest, but once charged it is always first to hit overvoltage usually over .100v difference, and the lowest when I drain the pack, again usually by .100v or...

Well I think I like the shelf build with the shorter section… this way I can mount the charge controllers under the inverters…. Or should I put them on the adjacent wall (away from the sink that I may move or remove)

Glad you got what you needed. One thing to note, you are incorrect about the SCP not being firmware updatable. I updated mine via insight.
