I found normal 100% SOC voltage for these batteries to be 56.7
If I turn off TOU, battery voltage will range from 56.8 to 57.1 when PV is producing.
The Sol-Ark wants to utilize the batteries like a shock absorber. With TOU turned off, this doesn't happen and PV production is curtailed. The only...
Midnight Solar will give them a run for the money, but I don't see any others. EG4 has questionable support and the only UL9540 batteries they're listed with are EG4.
Recently I watched a webinar by a battery manufacturer featuring the 15K. They had a Sol-Ark rep to speak for the 15K. A question came up about when the optimizers would be available. The answer was Sol-Ark will leave the optimizers as a 3rd party product.
I agree this stuff is confusing. I can clarify Limited Power to home. That's if your main service panel is before the Sol-Ark grid terminals. The Sol-Ark can backfeed towards the grid, but using external CTs after the utility meter, not backfeed the grid. What you have is Limited Power to loads.
I need an automatic setup. This is a 2 unit condo with a separate common building (garage). The well pump is on the common building. My neighbor is not technical and has no idea how any of this works. It has to work without manual intervention when I'm travelling. Also, I don't want to leave my...
I was frustrated that Gen Peak Shaving is no longer supported, but then realized what I was planning to do probably isn't practical, that is charge batteries on 3 separate Sol-Arks at the same time. Instead I'll just use TOU to stagger charging of each battery bank. Gen Peak Shaving would be a...
It's not Gen Peak Shaving, but according to the manual:
Gen Limit Power: Sets the Sol-Ark limit to keep the power drawn from the “GEN” terminal below the
threshold. The inverter will reduce the charge power rate to the batteries if this value is reached.
My installer arrived with a N/C RSD switch. So, I supplied a SSR and did this. Yes, I know it doesn't do emergency shut down of the inverter, but it passed inspection.
