You must be an advanced user. I am but a bumble beginner. Saving my magic smoke for something special.
  • Post in thread: My 12v 280ah build thread

Good luck. This sounds like the way to go for me as well. Was considering 560 but 280 might be enough. Under $500, super deal!
  • Post in thread: Crimped Copper Lug Size, BMS, Battery Terminal and Inverter

Thanks. Did a dig deeper survey and concluded 5/16". That is what was ordered on the Chargery BMS. Tried to find out the Inverter but went to the 4/0 cable, those had 5/16" lugs, that was enough for me. A drill will turn 5/16 into 3/8 and a flat washer will pin a 5/16 on to a 1/4" post, close...

Yes, called my CC company, told 'em I was buying a life sized silicon woman with batteries. Went through first time. I better say this quick before I get friended, just kidding but I did call the CC.
  • Post in thread: LiFePO4 heating pad for cold temperatures

Still in Maine, bit of a dusting going on here, just wanted to share my build, Could not have done it without all the great help here. Plexiglass, more insulation and lid to be added or it would just look like a battery box.
  • Post in thread: Renogy DCC50S, BT2 & DC Home app

Same here. Sent a copy of the solar panel invoice to tech support as requested, invoice clearly states 24v panel. Tech support said the panel exceeds the 25v capacity of the DCC50s, does not charge when the voltage exceeds 25v, shuts down.
  • Post in thread: Renogy DCC50S, BT2 & DC Home app

Joe, glad to hear you survived the dunking. The monitor worked fine indicating coach battery voltage, did not attach to engine electrics.. Unfortunately, the DCC50s could not handle my 24v solar panel, so I pulled the DCC50s, replaced with Epever MPPT. Might pull the panel for a lower voltage...

There are some really good aspects but I have to agree. I really hate to admit defeat. Would probably dump it, chock it up to a lesson learned.
  • Post in thread: 6S3P 120ah LTO Build

Very interesting! Why audio? I was tempted because of cold temperature applications but insulation and a heating pad should keep the LiFePO cells warm. We shall see, the way tech is advancing, everything could change.
  • Post in thread: Circuit Breaker Sizing and maybe BMS Bypass?

    Thanks, a real help.
  • Post in thread: Renogy DCC50S, BT2 & DC Home app

EDIT: went online Renogy, the model that does this is Renogy RMS-DCDC-US KEY FEATURES • Dual Battery Monitoring Stay informed about your house and auxiliary battery's charging status and easily monitor the solar system's overall health. • Adjustable Parameters Program your charger settings...

Once I put on the ring terminals, the power supply display is a totally different critter. Evidently was not charging. Now, with ring terminals 3.40v 9.0A 30W, A is trending downward, 8.7A, W is going down to 29 Really appreciate your help Jim.

I thought a pure sine wave inverter was ordered. I owe you a beer. Returning this and getting a pure one.
  • Post in thread: Negative Terminal Through the Case

A.Justice, that was just the ticket! The last piece of the puzzle. Been working on this over a year now, finally, getting 'er done.
  • Post in thread: Renogy DCC50S, BT2 & DC Home app

Could not find the pic taken upon receipt but I did go to Renogy with the model number, found this. When searching noticed the 24v and did not look further, my bad. RNG-300D The Renogy 300 Watt 24 Volt Monocrystalline Solar Panel is the first step to converting your house from an energy...
  • Post in thread: 280Ah battery case

Suggest you go to a thread on buying cells. You will likely get more opinions. You might consider including a case, BMS and connectors when you order. I wish I had. Good luck
  • Post in thread: LiFePO4 heating pad for cold temperatures

Was tempted by the Battleborn, so I Amazon Smile'd it. Suggest checking out the alternatives when one scrolls down. Lots of choices...

Received BMS from Overkill Solar today. Very neat assembly, impressive guarantee. Thanks Steve.
  • Post in thread: Ordered 4 cells 280ah From Shenzhen Basen, CN

Maybe, want to give these cells a good test. Also, not going on vacation until December, do not want to rush quality.

Old age and cunning beat youthful enthusiasm every time. For example, old people send young men and now women into battle. Magic smoke cannot be recycled, Glasshoppa.
  • Post in thread: Renogy DCC50S, BT2 & DC Home app

Dunno, ordered one, going to find out. Was thinking of asking Renogy but presently busy. The shunt on hand is a miserable pos, difficult to mount so hopefully this is usable as a display..
  • Post in thread: Ordered 4 cells 280ah From Shenzhen Basen, CN

Received power supply. Ordered load tester as suggested on https://www.mobile-solarpower.com/ Also reordered pure sine wave inverter, first order cancelled due to backlog. BMS has shipped. Trying to get ready to charge and test as soon as reasonably possible.
  • Post in thread: Ordered 4 cells 280ah From Shenzhen Basen, CN

All cells 3.29-3.30V using my free Harbor Freight multimeter. While they equilibrate to Maine going to scrounge a piece of copper to give them a chance to come to the same voltage before charging and testing. All cells unpacked in good condition, happy boy!

Well, sounds like we need to get something thicker, that's all. Let us know how you go.
  • Post in thread: Advertised BMS Capacity 120A, Inverter Needs More Amps

In my world simple is better, not likely to go with a relay unless it is clearly the only option. Limited use of the inverter is a possibility. A fused separate circuit likely. But if there is a BMS, why not size it to the job? Also have a second solar setup planned in my tag-a-long trailer with...
  • Post in thread: LiFePO4 heating pad for cold temperatures

Your ideas are looking very good. Did they make up a kit number for you? Went on their website, still shopping.
  • Post in thread: LiFePO4 heating pad for cold temperatures

At about $220 for the Battlborn heaters with substandard thermostat, it is looking that a 12v heating pad and decent thermostat is the way to go.
