12 volt grid tie all-in-one unicorn?

What about this one: Support WIFI GPRS ETHENET 1000w Hybrid inverter with MPPT solar controller 50a 12v 120v https://m.alibaba.com/product/1600215073950/Support-WIFI-GPRS-ETHENET-1000w-Hybrid.html?__sceneInfo={"type":"appDetailShare","data":{"filterKey":"7.8.2_share","cacheTime":"1800000"}}...

12 volt grid tie all-in-one unicorn?

How about this unit? https://a.aliexpress.com/_mPvcnjS Nope, it's about the same as what you have already.

12 volt grid tie all-in-one unicorn?

Or you could investigate a 240v inverter, running through a center tapped transformer to get the 120v H1/H2 + N. Look for a 240v - 120v stepdown transformer.

Maybe solar cable is rated differently. According to https://www.zw-cable.com/products/Solar_Cable_6mm.html 6mm2 (10AWG) solar cable is rated to 70A, while 4mm2 (12AWG) is rated to 55A. Are you using proper solar cable? 12AWG cable should be fine.

12 volt grid tie all-in-one unicorn?

Your Y&H 600w Micro-Inverter is meant for 12v class panels. They give an example of 4x 150w panels. For battery supply, you CANNOT use 12v, it requires 24v, as stated in the specs given in the Amazon listing. So, only 25A. This may be what you need? As for the DC posts, if you use a 4mm banana...

    DC-to-DC converter and MPPT efficiency

So Bvillebob and Roswell Bob have made it clear that the MPPT conversion losses are less of a concern than losses in transmission from PV panels to charge controller... and that of course also takes into account the transmission cable gauge. Thanks lads. I'll look into optimising those lines...

12 volt grid tie all-in-one unicorn?

So, something like this, only for 12v? https://a.aliexpress.com/_mMph7C8 I think your 12v stipulation is your downfall. Inverting 12v to mains requires a large aH rating for your 12v storage system. It may be better (more efficient and cheaper) to hook up your storage as 24v, and have a 24v...

    DC-to-DC converter and MPPT efficiency

So, I measured the Voc and Isc of my 6 panels today. They pretty much matched Voc rating before they heated up, and exceeded the Isc after they warmed up (although voltage had dropped). Voc was around 21.2v before they heated up, and around 20.2v after the Isc tests. The Isc slowly built up to...

Can you help me identify some PV panels?

This sheet seems to applicable for the inverter: https://www.solar-thailand.com/pdf/DataSheet-PSW7.pdf

Can you help me identify some PV panels?

Any opinions on buying the original inverter for $250AUD (circa $180USD) It's a 12v DC, 240v AC 3000w inverter. It's been sitting in his shed unused since he bought the panels (used at the time, I assume). And what sized 12v battery would I need? Assuming 80% efficiency in the inverter (is...

Can you help me identify some PV panels?

This... is learning right here. I've never heard of PWM being useful only in parallel, but I guess it makes sense. Thank you! I guess if you're crazy and have some "6v" panels (I'm talking those garden light or maybe IP camera or powered gate type panels), maybe series connection would make...

Can you help me identify some PV panels?

I got 6 panels (advertised as 130w panels) for a grand total of $60AUD. So I paid $10 each. That gives a theoretical maximum of 780w. 2 of them are actually labelled as 140w. I guess it will be simpler to treat them as 130w panels though, unless I want to keep them as a separate system to the...

Can you help me identify some PV panels?

Here is the page for the panels I suspect these are. https://www.whitworths.com.au/sunyo-polycrystalline-solar-panel Still... very open to suggestions of other possible matches. I know they're not in the best condition, and what brand they truly are is probably inconsequential in the long...
