Since you plan to use a battery without BMS with communication, you will have to set battery as user/custom, set voltage limits High and Low and the charging current.
SOC% will not be available but voltage.
The compatibility is an issue where a BMS with communication (CAN/RS485) is used.
(It...
I am talking about the input values inverter measures (the power on MPPT input, integrated results energy) and the total energy which came out (from inverter or other other energy measuring device like shellyEM).
So the panel efficiency/faults and wire loss does not count.
It is about using...
Take it easy.
Do not force your luck.
VOC max of the MPPT is 450V
And that VOC shall be calculated keeping in mind on cold season the VOC may be +15%.
So...
If 450V is VOC in on -20deg, the VOC of the entire string (based on the panels datasheet x number of panels) shall not exceed 391V.
(you...
Those are called "microinverters".
So for grid-tie application there are at least 2 solutions:
- every PV panel has its own DC/AC inverter (don't think the microinverters are from the factory, they are separate devices attachedcto the panels)
- PV panels are connected in series as strings (and)...
Backup feature was implemented.
(create backup in ramdrive and offer option to update/download)
Not quite I imagined.
https://solar-assistant.io/help/historic-data/backup
Log on to shine server from PC browser or phone (select "desktop site" from settings)
Switch from Dashboard to Energy section.
> Parameter comparison
Choose Time/date/month/year, on the right side upper corner there is "Export" option.
You also can set up weekly report to be sent to your...
SA is built in a way that you cannot install a home automation on that machine without breaking it.(probably)
Maybe you realized we try to find a way to tap into the system (on our risk) because the developer of SA do not provide login system details, made the bundle to work out of box and...
The entire system efficiency on long term use (one year now) is ~ 75%
I mean 75% from the Solar energy reached to loads by 2 ways:
- solar > mppt > DC/AC conversion > ACout
- solar > mppt > DC/DC > battery.... and battery > DC/AC > ACout
Solar input measured by the inverter.
AC out measured by...
That's what I was trying to say.
Everyone is free to choose the wanted equipment but knowing what's next, what are the costs for thw next years.
(this dispute Victron vs others is like Apple vs others for me, I hate Apple commercial strategy and this is valid for any other company which has this...
The firmware which doas 18A to 22A MPPT upgrade, does also the behavior "throttling the PV power without reason"
I confirm it.
The fw 40/41.05 (july 2021 I think) has 18A MPPT limit and does not throttle down the PV power no matter the load is 4.5 or 5kw.
The fw 40/41.06 (both versions...
The max number of panels has to be calculated by the PV Voc and the max MPPT Voc.
MPPTVoc / PVVoc x 1.15 = nr_of_panels_series
(forget anything on the right side of the decimal point, consider only the integer)
The factor 1.15 is given roughly because the panel Voc/Vmp increases 14-15% at...
No need for Rpi4. Wasted money and ressources.
I had the memory card 32GB, I bought one RpiZero2W + case (smaller, cheaper) and SolarAssistant software.
It consumes only 0.2... 0.25A so that an old phone charger 5V/1A would be enough.
In this case, this is not an inverter issue.
You can try to reset the dongle ( and remove it from the dataloggers list) and repeat the procedure for adding it to shine server.
Not everyone is willing to pay nearly 3x the price for same power solar equipment.
Keep in mind on Victron you need more than the inverter to be able to use the sistem (inverter, mppt, GX, computer for database historic data and remote access, battery shunt)
I clearly would choose Victron if...
It is not a delay.
It is just the priority of the energy use.
(that's how my Growatt works
- 4.5kw available from solar
- 1.7kw load
- what remains goes to batteries.
What's wrong with this?
Probably it was some misunderstanding)
What do you mean "almost"?
Tested today because it was sunny.
That "throttling" is really annoying andvI did not see any MPPT current over 17A.
It is possible the 22A limitation is in the MCU firmware.
I labeled in my mind the file F030 as MPPT fw because that's what I have read somewhere.
It may or may not be true.
I...
Fiy,
In SBU mode AND solar/battery operation, it DOES NOT CHARGE from AC because it is disconnected internally.
When the inverter switches on AC input because the b2AC limit reached (still SBU mode), it charges the battery with the amperage specified on param 11 ACI
The grid charges occurs...
The difference is too big.
It could not be the fw 040 05 so bad.
Sice your setup is parallel it would be useful one inverter with the firmware 040 06 104.
Not sure if you already built your system @Julian-Indaiatuba.
Advice valid for anyone else.
Pay attention to the total Voc of the string panel.
In the worse conditions (summer, high temperatures) you need to have the lowest Voc > low limit voltage of the MPPT (the smallest number of PV in...
Check this thread
https://diysolarforum.com/posts/621740/
Be aware.
The fw 40/41.06 has the issue I described. (PV power throttling down)
But in the thread there is also posted recently the fw 40/41.05 if you wish to go back.
I see now you already have 40/41.06 firmware. There is no newest...
Do not praise Victron. Victron is iphone of inverters.
It is at least 2.5x price (compared to Growatt) and the needed accessories just adds up to make a functional system (with comm, mppts and cloud data logging).
For that money difference you can add some panels or some kwh battery.
I just do...
It is a useless task to approximate the SOC by voltage on LPF.
The BMS does its job counting how many energy gets in and out.
Also it drops the charging current in 3-4 steps when SOC gets over 91% (tells to the inverter to do so)
You can get Pylontech SOC 100% charging even with 50V it you let...
As you have figured out, I can say the setup outputs easily 5500-6000w peak in sunny days.
I can prove with cloud data.
Highest power peaks are on April and May (favorable angle, cool ambient temperature)
So that NOCT/STD matter is discutable.
STD specs are rated @1000W/mp while NOCT (NMOT)...
