Upper management sucks....lol. I have 58 employed and can not leave until the job is done. I had to do 13 hours yesterday. I went to 2 places to get cables and Anderson connectors for the new cables on my lunch yesterday. I got copper 3/8 ends but could not get Anderson connectors. Today i was...
CHEAPEST FIX FIRST.... I will try the new thicker cables tomorrow. Just seems funny that the supplied cable from the manufacturer is not usable:unsure:... Would not everyone who bought this battery be having the same issue? Honestly i figured something shook loose in shipping and that is why i...
ah you mean like this(forgive the crappy paint drawing). using both sets of solar input ports? will it run like normal. I thought the unit would pick the more powerful input if i set it up this way. thus turning my 2000 watt array into a 1000 watt max array if i set it up this way.... sorry i am...
I got a letter back from the ebay seller. i sent him an invoice to add another panel as he has not shipped yet. total panels will be 9 now once he excepts my offer. you guys are great. i thank you for all of your help. i hope others can view this post and learn too..... you guys are awesome!!!!
yup.. half of you told me the mpp was bad and half told me the battery was not powerful enough to run the unit...:ROFLMAO:. I was so confused as a noob . I want to thank you all for your help and time. I also want to thank Will for doing a video showing my exact problem and a solution... very...
After re watching the video I am kind of at a loss. Running this battery means i can only use 3,000 watts of power from my inverter. That is not going to fly. In order to get 5,000 watts usage i must buy another battery. That means $1,400 more bucks out of my pocket. That means i put $2,800...
I got the unit off of ebay. I sent the seller a link of the video just now. I hope they respond quick. The seller is from "DIY Solar with Will Prowse" recommended affiliate list. I will put a volt meter on the MPP pos and neg buss bars tomorrow after work to see the volts coming in
This is my first real solar system setup and i am not sure if i got everything i need and how to hook it all up. If you could please read and see if i am missing anything i would greatly appreciate it.???
On the way i have the following items ordered. They all should arrive in the next few...
Here is the difference in cable size. I may be able to go to a fitting store tomorrow and get the ends for the Anderson connector and the mpp end to try new cables
having all kinds of problems here. the unit failed to power up and took 4 times at lunch to turn on. not sure if the connector is crimped enough from big battery. may half to take it apart and crimp it again. hope this fixes the problem. when it comes on it works fine. i should be able to flip...
more problems. got the 9 solar panels.. they look great and beefy. all already have connectors on the end. the bottom one is broke thou so i only have 8 working panels now. looks like the forklift tilted up and got into one of them in shipping. it was the bottom one. they were shipped face down...
Oh i see... it is open circuit volts i am looking for. thanks for the reply.
so since i own 8 i would put 3 in parallel, 3 in parallel, and then 2 in parallel. Then connect all 3 groups together?
37.6 per panel x 3 is 112.18 open circuit volts
this would be times 2
and then 37.6 x 2 is 75.2...
I am super impressed with the panels thou. I will order more from the same guy 3s5p for a total of 15 panels and 3750 watts..( my unit has a max of 4000 input). look like i will need 6 more panels and one replacement ordered.
I sent an email last night to see if i can add a panel to do 3s3p. It takes a day or so to get emails back from the seller so i hope he has not shipped yet. freight shipping to my town was $150. The shipping cost is the same for one panel or ten. i do not want to pay shipping twice for a new order.
got an email back from the pip manufacturer. Yep it does draw from only one panel input at a time. If you put 1000 watts in PV1 and 1000 watts into PV2 the max you can draw is 1000 watts. one array gets shut off depending in who has better sun. Seems like an expensive option to get max watts...
the cable that came with the battery was double ended. i had to remove one end to put on the batteries eyelet to connect to the pip. one cable popped right out with little tug. i think and hope this is the problem with power not working 100 percent of the time
thanks for your help. I should download the manual now and look. from what i heard the reason for 2 inputs is so you can put up 2 different arrays facing different directions. one for early light and a late afternoon position to make the most of the sun through the day. i will find out if both...
I picked up a 3 into 1 splicer pack already ...(rated at 50 amps) and a 10 pack of MC-4 connectors just in case. I also picked up a mount for my 9th panel. With this covid19 stuff some things will take forever to get here and i wanted to make sure i was not waiting on a connector.
my trailer...
I just got my pip and lithium battery and am having trouble getting it to work. Please watch my video. Any input is appreciated.
I want to fix whatever is wrong myself because i did not want to pay the $300 plus to ship the unit back. I also do not want to be a month without solar while i...
They are rated for 55A. here are the specs
One pair ( 1 piece black + 1 piece red ) of UL Listed solar cable. Both solar cables are terminated with Solar Connectors.
SEE IMAGE #2 in the photo gallery for solar cable specifications
Photovoltaic module interconnection cable for use with or...
Also I ordered no in line fuses. Do i need one between the solar panels and charger? Do i need one in between the batteries and charger? Keep in mind the batteries are Li-ion
I have it set up to do single phase 110, not 220 split phase yet, and i have ZERO LOAD. As long as it gets 48v it does not care how many amp hour i have. Amp hours are run time and Volts are power. The 200 amp hours are recommended so the inverter last at full power more than ten minutes before...
