  • Post in thread: Matt's starter system for $2500.

I have 2 ea. Renogy 100W & 2 HQST 100W solar panels and some other 12V parts I currently use but was wondering something similar to what you're proposing. I was thinking (for future expansion) the: 1. PowMr 5000 Watt (Solar Inverter Pure Sine Wave 48V 110V, Off-Grid 5KW Power Inverter Built in...

I appreciate your reply. Once I actually saw that the 15000/48 was 230V and didn't show 120V in the output I was confused until I remembered Europe used primarily 230V power and surmised that was the reason it didn't show 120V in the output.....but wasn't sure my suspicions were right. You just...

"with my existing solar system which consists of:" I was only laying out what I'm trying to use as a system, in case anyone had a question about the system and how it related to my question. People always seem to need more information so I was trying to preempt that need.

If it won't hurt the 12v LiFePO4 battery or the 12v inverter because the MPPT charge controller takes care of it then would the 'in series' OC voltage of 93.6V be within the parameters ? I guess I'm asking if the 2 x 100W Renogy solar panels (22.5v OC each) & the 2 x 100W HQST solar panels...
  • Post in thread: EG4-LL 48V vs. EG4 Lifepower4 48V server rack batteries

A new consideration that's bothering me is that ...... I’m seeing a disturbing number of recently dissatisfied customers involving the EG4 based system I was thinking of purchasing but a more bothersome thing is that with SS’s extremely fast growth and inability to help...
  • Post in thread: Bluetti AC200MAX

I finally pulled the trigger and bought an AC200MAX and a Bluetti SP350/350W portable solar panel ..... won't be here till mid Apr. I'm hoping there won't be any issues. I've decided to keep my small 4 panel system for my garage freezer power backup and use the AC200MAX as an emergency power...

cable is 10/3 SO coated about 12' long from panels to charge controller (right outside a daylight basement window) but, I hear you..... 2s2p when I install the 2 HQST panels....... thanks for all the steering...... rci
  • Post in thread: Bluetti AC200MAX

Thanks for the explanations. I'm going to wire in the extra 2 HQST 100W 12v panels to give me 4 x 100W x 12v solar panels (in parallel) for 93.6v OC total ..... the 22.18A amps generated leaves 6.98A above the Bluetti AC200MAX maximum (15.2A max input) and will just be "wasted"..... the...

Thanks, nothing like real world experience ...... I'm not too optimistic about Bluetti support, from what I'm reading, but there seems to be a lot of good help/advice on these forums. Thanks again, I really do appreciate you taking the time to let me know your experience with the Bluetti...

Bluetti AC200MAX I want to charge a Bluetti AC200MAX, for a short time (until I get my other 2 panels installed), with my existing solar system which consists of: 1. 2 ea. Renogy 100W x 12V solar panels, VOC- 22.5V hooked up in parallel 2. 2 ea. HQST 100W x 12V solar panels, VOC- 24.3V...
  • Post in thread: EG4 6500EX-48 "HELP"

Hi David, I'm confused about your question and maybe someone can help me understand ....... the EG4 6500-48 is listed as and sold as an Off-Grid Inverter, which I thought could not be used for a grid tied situation. I must not understand what the circumstances are that allow you to use that...

thanks for the reply and thanks for the 'heads up' about the amps..... I appreciate it...... rci
  • Post in thread: Bluetti AC200MAX

thanks for remind me about not adding the voltage, I actually knew that..... I thought the 12V LiFePO4 battery would require a 12v input, am I wrong ?
  • Post in thread: EG4-LL 48V vs. EG4 Lifepower4 48V server rack batteries

Thank you James. It's not often I'm right about something to do with solar so this gives me confidence to keep on trying to understand what I'm reading...... rci
  • Post in thread: Bluetti AC200MAX

I just realized something- if I reconfigure the solar panels to 2 in series and 2 in parallel that means the series panels throw me into the 24V range and that means another 12v LiFePO4 battery and another 12V inverter for a total cost of approx. $520..... unless I want to spend the $520 I can...
  • Post in thread: Bluetti AC200MAX

    Series configuration- 12v + 12v = 24v, everything I have is 12v...... am I misunderstanding what '2s2p' means ?
  • Post in thread: Bluetti AC200MAX

Yes I will be doing that, I'll look into the configuration you suggest and if it charges my LiFePO4 battery and then safely goes to my "PowerTech ON pure sine wave Inverter 1000w Cont/2000w Peak, 12v Dc -120v Ac" without any problem I'll probably follow your suggestion and reconfigure what I'm...
  • Post in thread: Victron Quattro 48/15000

Thanks for your patience and good explanations..... Maybe I should stick with 2 Victron 48/5000's or something simpler and stop getting off the reservation so far. Another possibility I think I need to consider is looking into a system that is grid-tie and off grid capable. Maybe scale back my...

  • Post in thread: EG4-LL 48V vs. EG4 Lifepower4 48V server rack batteries

I haven't been able to find this topic. When comparing these 2 batteries, what is the functional difference other than the warranty length, front panel display and price ? I must be missing something else for the $250/battery difference... ?? TIA, rci

that's a perfectly acceptable explanation, thanks for saying it..... rci
  • Post in thread: Victron Quattro 48/15000

I had a previous idea but delayed it to do some research and am now trying something different. I'm trying to design a ground mount Victron system that provides power for home and includes 230V power for a dryer, range, water heater, etc. I was going to use a couple of Victron 5000/48 inverters...
