Could also be the battery is shagged. I will get the monitor installed tomorrow even if it’s not at length and mounted correctly.

Do you know if you can buy direct from voltronic?
  • Post in thread: Poor solar performance

we dont run an inverter. Have setup the van to survive on 12v to maximise power efficiency.

I order 8 cells today. Delivered to Australia by sea was $815 us Hope that helps
  • Post in thread: Daly smart bms turns itself off

Ahh nice. Can you do a software upgrade from it? Or is it just useful for the CAN driver?
  • Post in thread: 24v BMS with a charge rating > 100 ?

Still on the boat - but an easun isolar SMV 3K PLUS it says surge power 6000 but no time specified.
  • Post in thread: Xuba Electronics: DEAL - 280AH LiFePo4 cells. Purchase & Review

No dutie there’s no duties in aus and if it’s under $1000 ( they send a copy of the invoice to customs)there’s no gst. Will just turn up. But you should get shipping number to track. Not just turn up at your door. They say 20-30 days to aus but in my experience it’s usually like 45
  • Post in thread: Rv setup - will inverter run the battery charger?

This is why I’ve asked the question. could anyone please tell me if they know the answer?
  • Post in thread: Rv setup - will inverter run the battery charger?

Hi all I’m just about to go from the test bench, into the caravan. And as I was planning the rv install and 230v I got thinking. Currently the shore power runs into a safety switch, which loops to 2 power circuits and the ac circuit. The current battery charger runs off a standard power point...
  • Post in thread: Can I mount an inverter flat (horizontal)

    600w @ 24v is 25 amps. Which is alot.
  • Post in thread: 24v BMS with a charge rating > 100 ?

9.5kg apparently i'd expect they are high frequency

  • Post in thread: 12v or 24v

Excellent advise considering I am basically starting again maybe a combo box would be the most cost effective. I do like to closely monitor my equipment but it will be out of site under The seating area. does anyone have any good 24v all in one recommendations th at have decent wifi/Bluetooth...
  • Post in thread: Renogy

Because I have one, and its junk. The voltage reading are out, the amps reading is out (20% lower than a clamp meter shows), I have 0 faith that the unit is working correctly and support is so hopeless I have given up and replaced the setup at my own expense. Oh, and the bluetooth dongle died...
  • Post in thread: two 100ah Renogy li battery or 12V Lithium Battery 206Ah Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) Prismatic Cells by Lynx Battery with Daly BMS

If the cells are brand new it should be good. As a said, 4000+ duties is possible but it’s kind of marketing spin. You need to have your DOD very optimised that your using only 50% of our battery. there is a video where Will advises not to hook the Daley up to the side of battery as it can get...
  • Post in thread: AntBMS comment on settings

can u send a link to the BMS you purchased? im looking for a 8s to run a 24v 280 eve cells aswell
  • Post in thread: 24v BMS with a charge rating > 100 ?

im interested in the charge rating as much as the discharge rating. the ANT bms (to the best of my knowledge) are only 50 charge 300/400 dis the daly bms is looking okay https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000907254597.html?spm=2114.12010612.8148356.5.4cd24ef6ZT0LW8

  • Post in thread: 0 AWG into 2AWG slot?

Hi There Firstly, I have a EASun 3kv 24v all in one. The only thing I've noticed is, it can only take a 32mm cable (or 2 AWG cable) into its input. Ideally, from all the reading in these forums, sounds like 0 AWG would be alot better fit. So question - What do others do. This is the same...
  • Post in thread: Is this the sign of a bad cell

Makes perfect sense. To fit the tight space I went from 8 in a row to 4x2, and then the supplied bus bar didn’t fit. So I quickly fabricated one from a piece of copper pipe to get going. See me like the link from cell 4 to 5 is bad (I.e. the copper pipe. So I’ll check this first and see what...
  • Post in thread: Building a beginner systems for my on/off road and on/offgrid camper

I’ve actually ordered an all in inverter ac and mppt unit. Keeps costs way down and reduces wiring etc. 3000w and running the same batteries as you. Might be an option your keen on. Sizing really depends on use which I’m guessing you don’t know. Main draw is fridges, cooking , heating, cooling...
  • Post in thread: Can I reuse the cells inside a ‘drop in’

Hi everyone I’m still a noob with all of this, I made a mistake a few months back and brought 2 120amp drop in lifepo4 batteries for an rv. I wired them in serial to find it’s not working. Good old eBay didn’t say they couldn’t be used in serial. So the second battery is sitting there not doing...
  • Post in thread: Xuba Electronics: DEAL - 280AH LiFePo4 cells. Purchase & Review

Shipping isn’t included in the product cost. So you should be under anyway. (How much were the cells)
  • Post in thread: RV 12v water pump noise and seperation

Don’t believe this is it as it happened when I was running 12v batteries as well. It only happens on the bigger main LED lights not the smaller ones (like reading lights).
  • Post in thread: RV 12v water pump noise and seperation

I like this idea the most. I’ll run a dedicated circuit and add in the capacitor.
  • Post in thread: Differences in input between shunt and mppt controller

    these are the same. The screen and a Okay so the answers are 1. P.v @ SCC - 0.13 2. Battery positive @ SCC - 13.30 3. Battery voltage - 13.29 4. Shunt in - 13.29 5. Shunt out - 13.29 6. Shunt screen showing 13.30 7. Renogy SCC shows - 13.00 8. Renogy bt shows 13.00 Cheers
  • Post in thread: Differences in input between shunt and mppt controller

It’s the same between them both
  • Post in thread: Rv setup - will inverter run the battery charger?

So I decided just to test it out and loop itself on the bench. When I plug into the mains the unit bypasses successfully and runs. When I loop the charger Into the inverter output, the unit 1. Does not go into bypass - expected 2. Does ,not charge 3. Does a really annoying error beeping but...
  • Post in thread: Differences in input between shunt and mppt controller

Yeah clearly the scc is down. My concern is that the scc has never seemed right (gut feel). I’ve got 800w of panels and never seen above 300w. The voltages are out (as per this thread?). I just don’t know if it’s internally got a fault and it’s working, but not correctly. As per your...
  • Post in thread: Can I reuse the cells inside a ‘drop in’

Thank you. I’ve been googling all sorts of terms as I couldn’t remember the term for cracking open a case. Now I type in tear down I found exactly what I was after. Thank you! I’ll get some battery specs (they were a no name generic though) and see if anyone knows. Cheers
  • Post in thread: 1st LiFe battery build done... Some basic questions

    Great sticky post !
  • Post in thread: Differences in input between shunt and mppt controller

There is definently not another charge source. We are totally off grid atm in the caravan so that’s not possible. The shunt isn’t backwards I’m 100% sure.. though I do wish I had a 36.45 amp load. However the scc would show this and it doesn’t as would the battery capacity. Everything else...
  • Post in thread: Inverter / washing machine issue

I do think it’s a load issue to some degree. the relay clicking on and off is the drum rotator. On Gennie you can hear the Gennie ramp up slightly when it goes, so it must be a small spike. Perhaps inverter is t reacting quick enough to the spike. That’s all I can think off. Might be in the too...
  • Post in thread: Rv setup - will inverter run the battery charger?

Thanks guys. I’m thinking the best solution is to wire in a second illuminated switch for the charger. Red for charger, green for inverter. And just manually flip the correct ones. I want illuminated so if I go to bed with the inverter in I’ll see it as soon the lights go out. I’m not keen on...
  • Post in thread: Differences in input between shunt and mppt controller

Except that at the scc terminals, it reads the same as the shunt. The .3 difference is between the scc’s terminals and the internals on the scc controller.
  • Post in thread: Can I reuse the cells inside a ‘drop in’

    Awesome, thank you. Legend.
  • Post in thread: 600 watt 12v kit available?

Hi jim The kit is fine and I run a rover Li 40. It does have a limit of 520w in 12v mode, but 1040 limit in 24. Being a mppt you just run the panels in series, I.e. 2 panels wired together and you’d have 3 strings , 2 panels in each. Don’t be daunted, just means you connect the positive from...
  • Post in thread: Diagram check please

Good points :) I already have the batteries and inverter (all I need is fusing and breakers). So I am going with the flow now. I do need to power the washing machine , microwave laptops etc too so it’s not going to waste. Was just hoping by going slightly larger the ac will run. I have been...
  • Post in thread: 12v or 24v

Hi All I could use some guidance. I have ordered 8 x 280 cells. Goal - To power the caravan better. Install a 2500w inverter to run some general appliances, some very limited air con in short bursts. Space - limited - required to run in a single long line. Current Setup - van is all 12v, it...

  • Post in thread: Differences in input between shunt and mppt controller

Not yet. I ha e one on order though. So about a week. I have the 300amp shunt. Like in wills chargers video he has to calculate the resistance of the shunt. Could it be something like this?
  • Post in thread: Can I reuse the cells inside a ‘drop in’

  • Post in thread: What’s better 100ah or 200ah cells.

Hey, I’m looking at making a 12v 400ah diy lithium battery. Am I better off with 16x100ah cells or 8x200ah cells. Price wise they are very comparative it’s just is one more redundant being 16cells or is there more in balance being only 8? Any other comments would be great.
  • Post in thread: Scc panel Li it’s 520 12v vs 1050 24v

Thanks for the idea. My concern was space on the caravan roof. I managed to rearrange everything and put a 6th up (always had, never thought I could fit it). So i ended up running 3 string in 24v. Technically it’s over the 1000w limit but I’ll never that’s good efficiency so I don’t think it’s...
  • Post in thread: Differences in input between shunt and mppt controller

Hi all thanks for taking the time to read and help answer my questions. I have what I think is a weird one. I have noticed there is a substantial difference between the readings on my renogy rover 40 mppt and my battery monitor i would of expected a loss perhaps, bit I have a gain. it’s...
