I needed a small system: 2 x 200w renogy panels, 100/50 Victron MPPT, AGM battery. Questions?
1. I suppose I should run these panels in parallel (see pic back of panel sticker)? I have it powering pond pump.
2. I could go with the 100/20 Victron instead of the 100/50 based on this system...
I have 3x200w panels, 20A victron, with AGM battery. This is to power my air pump for my pond. This isn't enough capacity and power to run 24/7 (trust me, i tried). Instead of increasing everything (more batteries and panels), I have another 175w of panels laying around that I run direct to...
Good to know about just buying my own parts instead of starter kit. I'm building the small system more to use it in future but to understand solar and parts needed (how everything works) to build upon a skillset that i can somewhat intelligently approach the larger system (for my home). The...
I'm connecting both the USB Phone Charger AND the solar panel to hook into the battery terminals. With these types of battery terminals, what do others do to connect both to this battery? Pictured is my USB Phone Charger, and not pictured is my panel cables. thank you and see picture - Josh
But when I disconnect a load from the battery, the panels should still produce energy and charge the battery, correct? My battery is not near charged and when I take away the battery load the watts generated from solar significantly drops. Is that correct? Perhaps I have a victron setting...
I started with my small off-grid 100W panel, which had AGM battery, and this cheap charger. I'm powering wifi and a security camera. System worked great.
I have since upgraded to a lithium battery, and figure I'd need a lifepo4 charger, so this says it works with lithium, but skeptical small...
I still think something is wrong here or I need to adjust Victron or a different controller.
I'm trying to run my pond air pump 24/7, it only pulls 60w. The idea is the battery get charged enough during the day to handle when sun isn't shing. Unreasonable?
I realize my Victron 20mp can't...
New to solar, and setup a 60w air pump to run 24/7 to my 75W panel and large AGM battery. Obviously at some point I'd anticipate my battery to go dead, then charge back up with sun is shining. Well, looking at my charge controller, I see flashing empty battery. Does that mean it's dead and...
As I’m trying to figure this out and based on responses here, couple things come to mind:
1. Should I try in Series vs how it is today in parallel?
2. Should I get a larger Victron?
3. Could i just skip controller and battery all together, add panels and run pump directly from panels...
I have a 100W panel, basic controller, and 12v lithium battery. I use the setup to power a camera/wifi. Looking more at the controller, is it safe for lithium battery? If not, what should I be aware of damage can it do?
I have 3 - 200W panels setup. I have noticed my battery not as full as normal. When I looked at my Victron app (this was midday with full fun), it reads only 45W.
Questions:
1. Is that all that 45w displayed its pulling in from the sun?
2. If my battery gets low, and continues to...
I’ve doubled my watts for 2 panels in series to 2x200. Using victron 100/20. Worked great with smaller panels. Here is what I’m seeing
And one the panels specs
New Victron 100W 20A MPPT controller. I hooked everything up, checked connections, looked good. Light is green on controller. I loaded up app, and show 0W coming from panels. Is this nromal or could be from battery being dead? confused, thank you
I'm researching combination of farmland and solar mounted, vertically mounted bifacial modules facing East-West appears could be most cost effective. Wondering your thoughts and proper equipment Besides obvious panels, i'd need a mounting system, and don't even think i'd need a tracking system...
